@@CIements, my reasoning was simply because I felt a weather team is an all-around better option than a team built around a terrain. Can a terrain-based team wreck others? Absolutely...but a Sunny Day team is consistently better.
I love when you guys rematch, you get to see the teams again with different focuses and dynamics, plus show off diff plays that you didn't in the first match
Game idea: $3000 to buy pokemon based only on their BST (so a 600 bst costs $600) and one is a lie. Left over money can be used for abilities/ forced switches etc.
Another twist to this is that you could save money with what appears to be first stage evolution mons and then evolve them...but if you're wrong and pick a ditto you're screwed lol.
@@danielj5136 buying a ditto would at least mean you'd have more money to spend + a sack. it's not completely worthless here even if the mon itself sucks w/o impostor
26:45 oblivious ignores any infatuation or taunt, as well as being immune to intimidate. You were probably thinking of unaware, not that it mattered on 1hp lmao
You two are definitely one of if not my favorite combo to see then we fights. Y’all work so well together and the videos are always fire. Thank you both.
I think this should be a 3 person concept where one auctions the Pokémon and the other 2 bid for them. The 2 bidding have a set bank to bid with and then can auction off items at the end and or abilities as well
A third person is definitely necessary for this format, although if they auction abilities there would need to be something like a chart for base prices, and not a flat rate for all abilities.
Have to say, not great at auctioning I think one of your biggest issues is your wallet isn't large enough, so so so so so much more hesitant to overbid than to try and make your opponent overbid Should also be allowed to bump it up in multiple increments, like 100 to 300 in a single bid, force them to go to 400 if they want it - perhaps only 2 increments though
Another fantastic variant in the “Then We Fight” arsenal. Loved this one a lot. Also, was laughing so hard at the noise Pat made when one of his Mons went down 😂
Fun vid. I do think the required $100 increment did mean that there was just not quite enough money to do interesting bidding wars. When items cost $100, you can only really spend more than $200 on one or two pokemon, so once your opponent has raised once, it is already too expensive to counterbid. I would raise the starting cash to 4k or even 5k, or drop the minimum increment.
This is an amazing way to draft, I think you could make a whole draft series, like a big series fleshing this out and really making it more detailed and be longer then just an episode. This idea is sweet!
*Facepalms.* Fortune is so fickle. There's little more frustrating than relying on random chance and having it NEVER work in your favor. Still, I always love to see two out of three videos like this. And $2,000 went a surprisingly long way. Not sure I wouldn't prefer bigger pools to pull from next time, but this was still quite well done. Thank you both and looking forward to what comes next.
17:30 a power move was to start the bid at 200, force him to pay 300 on the paradox pokemon or get it for 200 which would of been worth it and still get 6 items
Fun idea. Maybe next time do srsly blind bids. One person gets starters to choose, chooses one and bids, and the other person decides whether or not they want to bid. If so, it’s a back and forth until someone bails.
Shady I'm not even kidding, I was begging for holzkern to be the sponsor I've been wanting to expand my collection and was waiting for an extra reason, I love their stuff!!!!
Here's an Idea for ya Shady. Pokemon Frankenstein. pick 6 normal pokemon (2 truths, 1 lie) THEN pick 1 pokemon to be the "base", then swap its ability with one of the other 5, and then each of the 4 remaining donates a move to it. you then have the choice: do I make 1 super 'mon, getting an insane combo like a Slaking with Skill Link and Population Bomb, or do you try and spread out the good parts to the other 5?
Really fun video idea loved watching it. Maybe if you recreate it you can have a final round and have the ability to re-auction the pokemon you have in your teams - that way you can have a last minute switch to change teams or afford more items for pokemon/abilities. Love your content keep up the amazing work.
Pat 100% shouldve started the bid at 200 for iron boulder, either Shady folds and he gets iron boulder for 200, still allowing him to get 6 items, or shady bids 300 and he wastes more of his items
I LOVE watching your videos all the time Shady P! You have been an inspiration for such a long time and love your collaboration videos with other amazing creators! Hope you keep making amazing stuff! 😄
I'll be honest, I would say most pokemon start at 100, starters, pseudos, and low tier legendaries (like the lake trio) start at 200, and high tier legendaries should start at 300
Hi shady, Got a game idea. As usual you randomized your starters and give them a bad/rough description. But this time you could pick “rise”, “stay”, or “lower” which make you able to change the pokemon you choose by adding or subtracting 1 pokedex number. Also you won’t be able to evolve your pokemon
Great video!! Would love to see if you guys maybe had more money and an auctioneer auctioning off to you two and he describes the starters as he pleases
Am i the only one who noticed that they basically played with 20 with 2 extra 0? On top of that the bids pretty much started at 200, this format i think has much more potential they it was acctually done, instead of letting the other player randomly choose a pokemon he wants to bid on, make the one seeing the pokemon decide if he wants to bid first or not, example, the one seeing the pokemon wants sees like a arcanine and just bets 150 on it, now its up to the other player to decide if he want to let you get away with a somewhat small bet on what could be a good or not good pokemon, if the one seeing the pokemons doesnt want any of them he could describe the pokemon in someway either by BST/type/generation or just give a simple description like the orange dragon that is not a dragon(charizard) that makes it much more "mentally challenging" given the one who knows the pokemon is the one setting the bar, allowing more "freedom" of choice when it comes to what you want to bet is what would acctuslly give value to the 2000, if you can only bet 100, 200, 300, you are literaly playing with 20 with 2 extra 0
