  • Building a theme park through the years.... This year, 1967. Fire has hit the park and now we need to decide what we do next. Copy Disney's Big Thunder Mountain? Yeah, go on then. It's the turning point of theme parks.. the second revolution. We are about to get steel coasters, loops, inversions, speed, steep drops and all sorts... and it all started with the humble log flume..

    So, by popular request - or even demand - we are building ourselves a park through time starting with the park which was set in 1930! Based on Golden Acre in Leeds, this little park hosted a ballroom, boating lake, multiple rides and attractions plus the world famous railway. Since the war it has become a fully fledged theme park and now that Disney is on the scene, we really need to up our game.
    Well, you love your realistic Planet Coaster parks, so go around one more time and go for series number 8. Blimey. This time we are coming after Paulton's Park, Drayton Manor, Wallibi Holland and Chessington World Of Adventures. Set in the UK and started on a blank map.
    Thank you so much for being an awesome community. I've set up a membership if you'd like to say thanks or buy a beer (a bit like Patreon; just on TH-cam). Using realism I’ve learnt from my experience of working for a real-life theme park company and over 4000 hours of Planet Coaster play time. Using true-to-life principles, we walk through each stage of the build reasons why things are built in a certain way- as well as some top tips on how these were achieved too by pulling them apart for you to see. As the project progresses, I’ll release the park for you to enjoy, so please make sure you Subscribe to stay in touch! I'm the two dollars twenty of Planet Coaster apparently...
    What if Cedar Fair opened a park in the UK? Would it look like Alton Towers? Thorpe Park? Or would it take on the form of more American parks like Cedar Point? Canada's Wonderland? Or would it be more themed like DollyWood, Legoland, Busch Gardens or SeaWorld? Oh, and don't forget Six Flags too! What about China? I hear Flying Kiss theme park in China is a good one too! Well, one thing is for sure, realistic Planet Coaster parks don't come much more realistic than this and let's be honest, other Planet Coaster Let's Play or Planet Coaster gameplay videos won't give you the real reasons why things are as they are. Where do you place rides, rollercoasters, shops, paths, plazas, car parks, entrance areas, tickets, turnstiles, maintenance sheds and so on? I'll tell you where as we up the Planet Coaster Realism game! This is more than just a Planet Coaster Tutorial; this is a Planet Coaster best park ever!' Just so you know, my realistic series uses Planet Coaster Sandbox. It's time to get Planet Coaster real! Episodes with rollercoasters also have rollercoaster povs too. Don't worry if you're stuck for Planet Coaster Entrance Ideas - this episode will sort you out. This is how to start a park. AND if you like the build styles of Themepark worldwide, bro nation, silvarret, maskedbandit, mike sheet, deladysigner and rudi rudikmental then you might just like this! We have very similar planet coaster building style. I wish I'd get noticed by Mr Beast haha

    THAT FIRE MONTAGE, SON. What a great use of editing and in-game effects to tell a story to us. Bravo!
    Use the original Turns station building as a little museum of the Royale Myle somewhere in the park. You could have "old" "photos" of original attractions and adverts and maybe some old ride vehicles or bits and bobs.

    • @Nerdchacho
      @Nerdchacho  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I was thinking something similar to that too.. A museum that has parts of buildings, tracks, rides, fences etc.. but not in the old Spitfire station as it is too small for that..but instead would have part OF the station in it..

    Instead of Megastorm Hill, which is a top tier name and not inspired by anything else, maybe something adjacent rather than directly inspired could work. Since the coaster goes along a canyon near a log flume something like 'Nimbus Ridge Minetrain'.

    Absolutely adore Arrow mine trains, glad to see another one pop up in Planet Coaster. Just don't burn this one down this time.
    Also, for the Flying Turns station, maybe turn it into a covered seating area, similar to what Waldemeer did with station for the original Ravine Flyer.

    Omg, I can't believe fox or cnn is not talking about the coaster that caught on fire. This is exactly why I stay away from coasters. You have no control when you get off. I've been searching for more info but can not find any yet. I hope there no casualties. God bless the firefighters, riders and everyone at the park. Im just hoping that it doesn't turn into another wildfire.

    I like how you've used the Spitfire for the mining company for this minetrain. I would suggest Time Traveler Minetrain for giving the old with the new. You can showcase some pictures of the past rides history in queue line as you go back in time on Time Traveler Minetrain.

    One weird tip for if you want to build more realistic Arrow coasters is that the ride was centered around the main spine, so if you wanted to replicate that you can use a negative offset of about 3 feet(1 meter).

    • @Nerdchacho
      @Nerdchacho  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm in game and going to check that out now.. The -1 offset isn't one I've experienced as even old arrows have heartlining which involves a positive offset..
      EDIT - It works. Great tip, thanks!

    Ratherthan Megastorm Hill, if you wanted something that references Big Thunder, ties in with American mythology and also gets a bonus cheeky reference to British culture of the time, you could always go with 'Thunderbird Mountain'...

    Sorry, Chacho, but that name for the coaster might be your most egregious pun yet. Might I suggest something like Ember Valley Minetrain, ember being slang for coal, which was what was mined in Britain quite heavily?

  • @createmistakes
    @createmistakes ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I love it. I appreciated seeing the story telling of the old burned down coaster at the beginning. Correct me if Im wrong but this looks like a massive investment for a part of this size, especially following on from the log flume 4 years earlier. I would imagine the park might not have another big investment like this for another 6ish years, but what do I know lol. Also the Park is starting to feel like a British x American themed park. Not like thats a bad thing, but i'm interested in seeing if one of the themes ends up overpowering the other or if this sets the stage for new themes soon?

    Name Suggestion: Spitfire Steel Mineride
    Since this would be one of the first steel coasters in the UK, and worldwide, I feel the park would try to stress the significance of the ride being made of steel, which actually goes quite well with the minetrain theme since the idea could be that you are going down into the mines to get Iron etc to bring back to the station ‘so it can get turned into steel’
