  • Monday 26th September 2016 saw the South Tower of the Queensferry Crossing over the river Forth joined to the Middle Tower ... well almost ... there is the 30cm gap that gets filled by the spacer inserted from above!

Truly an amazing video what astounds me is the movement of the existing bridge.

I drove across today and saw this section almost at the top. Was surprised there was any lifting with the miserable weather. Still a few sections to go at the north end of the central tower but still hard to believe this is as far behind as they claim. Have you seen the cables being attached to the towers? I haven't seen that part being done. Cool to see the aircraft carrier being built in the background too.

Hi Jim, thank you for a great video! How much time is compressed into this timelapse? Because the last time I watched the segment lifting it seemed to také forever and it was lifted so slowly I could not see any movement.
Also one more thing I can not get my head around - from where were you capturing this? Was it from the Forth Rail Bridge? It is a pretty stable place unlike the road bridge which moves a lot when HGVs pass through.

Sorry to bust your melon Jim but this was actually the penultimate deck segment between Central Tower and South Tower. The gap between the 2 cantilevers was actually 6 meters not 30cm. The last segment which is called CLS closure was lifted on the 9th of October which connects both of the towers. Cool video though

Thanks mate! I spotted this on the BBC news tonight - the wiggle with the wind over that 23cm gap was awesome!!!! 8 sections left!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to get my but in gear!
