      airwindows stuff, ferrictds, mjuc, dc8c, hornet tape, gullfoss, limiter no6, loudmax, tapeface
      ----
      i also use:
      *BlackRooster VEQ-1P* - it's cheap and it does the Pultec
      *ChowCentaur* + *Nembrini Mrh810V2* - my goto guitar sound
      *Valhalla Delay* and *Plate* - nice sounding delays and reverbs, very usable
      *Kjärhus Classic Phaser* - good for Rhodes
      *Blue Cat Chorus* - very usable standard chorus that's easy to setup, mainly use it for synths
      *CLA76* - nice snappy drum buss compressor
      *Zenology FX* - pretty good all in one, it has a great rotary speaker sim inside
      *Softube Tape* - a tape sim with a very unique sound not found anywhere else

    It's great to see him showcasing the plugins he uses. So many home recordists are obsessing over aliasing, red lights, plugin guis, higher samplerates etc and he's just using his ears and talent to get the job done to a high standard.

    One plugin that I've recently come to really like is Waves, Scheps Parallel Particles. Uses parallel type comp & can generate hi/lo harmonics, you can quickly tell if it's improving sound or not. Stupidly I always thought it looked a bit gimmicky - it's not!!!

    I bought your Mix bus pack from JST. Like you said, im a metal guy who loves this stuff... Your electric guitar bus compressor has completely eliminated a Phazey Fizz frequency from my guitar tone that i was unaware that i even had... Now my guitars sit so much cleaner and nicer.. The collab between you and JST was a winner..

    My favorite thing about Billy is that Avid Pro Control in front of him that he only uses for controlling his monitor volume, by his own admission. It’s mostly just there for looks. It’s otherwise all keyboard and mouse.
    And the guy mixes on humble Mackie 824s (although his 18” subwoofer is a spendy beast).
    His whole career is a poke in the eye to the analog GAS world. Long live Billy.

    Don’t the analog buttons on the CLA-76 add saturation, not hiss?

    • @Czyszy
      @Czyszy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think (in the case of SSLComp) the analog button adds the hiss, not saturation. At least that's what I've figured out by doing the null test.

    • @Czyszy
      @Czyszy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BrofUJu
      @BrofUJu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @DeeKeyLP
      @DeeKeyLP 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      circuit design adds saturation when you crank the compressor up. "analog" is just hiss.
