I did want to mention however, since I'm under the impression that many in the comments think this was my first time ever playing the game, that it wasn't. It'd been a very long time since I had beaten it however, about ten years or so, but my first time ever completing this game was about seventeen years ago, when I was about twelve years old. This is hands down one of my favorite video games, and I'm so glad I could share a playthrough of it with you all! Also, I know the audio quality, particularly from my mic, is atrocious. It’s my favorite game of all time, so it feels really human and connecting to see others have that emotional experience.
It kind of irks me that a lot of reaction videos I watch forgot about the whistle part. Remember when Tidus was teaching Yuna how to whistle? After she learned to do so, Tidus said "If you ever need me, just whistle. I'll come running, I promise.". That was the value of the whistle before Yuna went with her speech. It was her final stage of denial, still clinging on to anything she can use to hopefully make Tidus come back.
I actually just started to replay this game After like what 20+ years. Crazy how emotional this ending still gets to you. Even though the whole thing is sad the part that always hits me the hardest is when Yuna stars to whistle over and over again even though you're gone.
I honestly believe this game effected me more than any story in any I've ever played, the game play was adverage, but this story without a doubt made this my favorite FF game ever, it's not even close
The irony of this beautiful story is at the start or somewhere in the middle of the game, we were made to believe that Tidus shouldn’t have feelings for Yuna because Yuna would die at the end of the pilgrimage, but towards the ending, we were presented with a twist of how the tables are turned.
As someone who beat the game when I was 13 and then later in my early twenties, I definitely agree that there are so many details and character nuances I can appreciate in a totally new light being an adult. One of the most beautiful stories they have ever told.
I just beat it again for the 4th time after like 2 years on the switch version people say games ruin the brain but games like this the story is just like a book I don’t cry but this gets me every time. FFX I will always come back to.
So far every single reaction video I've seen of FF10's ending has shown the player cry bittersweet tears, that's how good the story is. Incredibly emotional performance from these VAs, especially from Yuna and Tidus.
I'm pretty much the same as you in that I played this game at a young age 14 or 15ish) and didn't fully grasp everything that was going on. Since then I've played it do many times through that the final bosses take a couple of minutes each and the story kills me every time. It's a genuine masterpiece and I love watching other people have the same experience that I still enjoy to this day. You have my sub and may your channel prosper ☺️
At the end when Yuna runs to Tidus and falls through him and you see the orb come up from her as she lays on top of the airship I always believed that represents a part of her dying at that moment
FFX was the last game to truly make me feel anything. The animation the music the characters the story and love story this game is 22 years old and the CG still holds up

This is one of those stories you need to go through at least twice to notice new things. Like hints that Auron was dead the whole time, or the laughing scene taking a darker tone when Tidus learns that Yuna is gonna die at the end.
We all have such unique experiences, this what is beautiful, we are all unique and all precious. I can definitely say that this game really touched you, I mean I think it touched all of us. Wow that Yu Yevon fight was painful to watch. You had it right at the very start - you're supposed to cast reflect. The reason it didn't work for you the first time is because he happened to use the pagodas right after, which removes status. But great video! Love your summary at the end
It's always a great day when I discover new playthroughs of FFX to watch. Even though this wasn't blind, the reactions were on point from someone who adores this game. Back in the day before TH-cam (!!) I had a save file at the last sphere. I would load it up, travel to the replay theatre, watch all the FMV cutscenes start to finish, then travel back and beat the game to watch the ending. Now I have TH-cam playthrus to re-experience this masterpiece! Cheers 😊

When I saw how strong your magus sisters were on Jecht it reminded me of my game. My Yuna was OP and her summons were near max...I had to pull every cheap trick in the book to survive fighting them.
YT every now and then recommends me video of someone playing FFX's ending... and I gotta always watch it to cry together. This bittersweet ending is one of the most impactful videogame endings in my life.
This was my first rpg ever. And until today no other hit me that hard. Back in these days, i did not see the little scene in the ocean of besaid after the credits, so for me there was no hope that there might be a Happy End. I was sure that yuna and her guardians would live their lifes missing auron and tidus until they would follow them in death. I Lust say that this made it much stronger and kind of my first death experience. Six years later my best friend died, another 2 years later my sister died, and it helped me to already know this kind of emotion. In real life there was no happy ending, but it was nice to experience it in ffx2
FFX was the best gameplay experience in my life! The story, characters and an amazing and unique ending! I think that was the first time that the protagonist “dies” in a game ending. We were used to seeing a happy ending and FFX surprised us! Amazing journey, characters evolution and a perfect ending! Also, I’ve been reading Jung lately. It really opens your mind on how these amazing plots are constructed above the most fundamental archetypes of mythology. Tidus starts as the Jester and slowly embraces the archetype of the Hero, who faces the beast of the profound ocean (the Leviathan), rescues his father (reference to Pinocchio) and perishes to save humanity from sin (reference to Christ).
I played this game way too many times, recently i am playing it again, and i keep watching people react to the ending, i just skip to the part where the sphere of tidus face is there, and when yuna shake head n say no, then yuna running n falling, the hug, n finally the high 5. Ya, its a bitter sweet sad moments.
Kimahri was The only one who knew that Auron was unsent a whole time. + Auron told kimahri to protect Yuna before Auron died and came Back again to help tidus and Yuna beat sin

Hello from france, always nice to see someone react to this game ^^ but with the blue yeti, there is always a risk of saturation and you are nearly all the time saturating the sound, maybe be careful about that ?
Idk how TH-cam got me here, but man I must say. This game’s ending is something. PS2 era might have been the optimal point between high enough technological capacity to transmit emotions but not so high that developers defer plot development because their dedication is entirely devoted to market-tier graphics and mechanics. I think this plot+finale is prime art. I might consider the best of all times, with a slight doubt if better than MGS2. FFX is certainly everything a Final Fantasy game was meant to be. I’m not saying it is the best FF title, since that is quite relative, but I affirm it is the most Final Fantasy of all Final Fantasies. It’s the one in which the hero most matures during the adventure, the one in which the playable characters have most synergy, the one with most sidequests and playable hours, the one in which Uematsu’s compositions were best varied to synchronize with the scenes, and the one in which the love between hero and princess is most truth.
Controversially, my favorite FF is FF8. But I gotta say, FFX almost takes it. It was such an amazing experience to play and I enjoy watching people play it very much. I enjoyed watching this.

Getting emotionally invested and having something tragic happen is what made Jrpgs of old truly stand out.
Not just FFX-2, I wish they didn't have that scene after the credits that shows Tidus. Really takes away from the ending I think.

Hello from france, always nice to see someone react to this game ^^ but with the blue yeti, there is always a risk of saturation and you are nearly all the time saturating the sound, maybe be careful about that ?

Idk how TH-cam got me here, but man I must say. This game’s ending is something. PS2 era might have been the optimal point between high enough technological capacity to transmit emotions but not so high that developers defer plot development because their dedication is entirely devoted to market-tier graphics and mechanics.
I think this plot+finale is prime art. I might consider the best of all times, with a slight doubt if better than MGS2. FFX is certainly everything a Final Fantasy game was meant to be. I’m not saying it is the best FF title, since that is quite relative, but I affirm it is the most Final Fantasy of all Final Fantasies. It’s the one in which the hero most matures during the adventure, the one in which the playable characters have most synergy, the one with most sidequests and playable hours, the one in which Uematsu’s compositions were best varied to synchronize with the scenes, and the one in which the love between hero and princess is most truth.
If you don't cry at the end of this game, there is something deeply broken within you.....
Controversially, my favorite FF is FF8. But I gotta say, FFX almost takes it. It was such an amazing experience to play and I enjoy watching people play it very much. I enjoyed watching this.
