It’s hit or miss, in ntsc land some TVs can easily display both standards. Try a different tv such as an older set from the 80s with a vertical hold control and vertical size on the back.
I'm glad I found your video. I'm having a simular affect With My PAL GAMECUBE and I need to fix it. Basically, I bought a pal GameCube because it has RGB output on it through the standard multi AV out Jack. So I purchased an HD retrovision component cable which transfers and converts RGB to component for my ntsc TV. I have color, but the screen flips like it does in your video. We assume this is a Hertz issue. However, I have no option to change their hurts because I have no power game to put in the GameCube. Do you have any tips for me to get my pal GameCube up and running on my ntsc TV? I'm only using it to play Gameboy player. Not GameCube games. What's weird is the Pow GameCube works fine on an HDTV. But my target is ntsc because I'm using Gameboy player
I had the same issue with my PAL n64 and PAL GameCube. I fixed the problem by buying a signal converter. Right now I'm using an international KDV -7100RF and it does the job
To play PAL, you can use 20XX and switch to PAL in the debug menu. By the way, interesting, if I use a PAL 50Hz CRT, as the sticker says, I can load without any issues NTSC 60Hz and PAL 60Hz games. I tried with old TVs and it's still okay. I don't get it
Ch3rry i tried to load 20XX on my pal tv and is starts to flicker like in the video. I‘ve came to the conclusion that my crt was too old for 60hz support. Looks like i‘ve to hunt for crts again😔
I actually been trying to find a solution for my PAL PlayStation games. All of them display in color but do that screen flipping, shown at the beginning of your video here. So far I have been told to get a multi-region TV, which may fix the problem but not sure. I've done numerous searches and can't find a solution, I assume it's just the TV I have.
You need to use a Modern TV. I had the same issues with a Ps2 and the CRT I use for older consoles. I recommend picking up a Ps2 HDMI adapter. Works just the same as component, just cheaper and new
Update: Well, I have been through almost every Walmart TV (I think all from my store) and none accept PAL. I have been returning TVs, just so I can try each one, absolutely ridiculous. These are all modern HDTVs and Smart TVs, half of them don't even have anything but HDMI ports (luckily I only chose ones with both RCA and HDMI.) I mean, I also tried an old VCR to test if they even recognize analog signals, they all went to a black screen saying ''NO SIGNAL.'' I then bought one of those cheap PAL to NTSC RCA converters, it worked for a few seconds and completely died (I returned that too.) *I SERIOUSLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, I NEED A MODEL NUMBER TO A REGION FREE TV.* I live in the United States and not a single American store TV understands PAL. The next thing I might try is, finding a PAL CRT and find a step-up power converter. It's going to be expensive to ship from the UK, but I really need a way to play my PAL PS1 games traditionally.
So if you play PAL on NTSC you get b&w? Odd... but indeed interesting ^^
Dang! Maybe if we can have regional device to get the colors worked.

Woooah, thanks for sharing my dude
Could you show a 50hz vs 60hz gameplay?

Did you ever find a solution? I'm in the same spot. I'm planning on doing a XenoGC mod and then using the Action Replay disc to force a mode.

If only all countries agreed on having one solo system and AN ONLY ONE POWER PLUG worldwide… :/

Use component cables

If it's an original PlayStation id imagine they have HDMI adapters for that also

NTSC 4.43
Why did you buy a European version?
I didn't, I pirated the iso. And I did it mainly for this and because it has a lot of differences from the USA version.
Ryan Terry Figures, you weren't the person to buy software :P
What are you talking about? I own the game, it's not like I pirate things I don't own. I purchase everything, thank you very much.
Ryan Terry Ah okay, I understand.
haha you are in your boxers
