    I have resisted these dies for a long time as I was learning how to hone my craft for a couple of years now. I watched Jodie launch them a while back my ears pricked up but was afraid to take the plunge! Kept watching bought lots of other amazing products made those loved them. Then one day up pops Jodie again talking about memory books and she was so passionate about them that I dived straight in bought three sets never made one at this point but still I dived in head first😮 . My daughter is going to be 30 in June of this year so really want to make one had no clue where to start devoured most of Jodie's videos on memory books which are brill by the way. But now this video thank you so much girls you have inspired me to make one and given me the confidence to start your teaching is amazing as I am a visual learner and the close up are fantastic. When I have done it I will tag you in my make. X ❤

    Love that this is going to be a series! I remember my first experience with your Memory Book line. Gareth introduced me to Mark who showed me all the different dies available. Jodie sold me on it when she created the base of the book in about fifteen minutes. I still have all the notes I took. She was so nice answering all my questions! I've made them for my yearly Christmas journals, given them as gifts, and even donated a Disney themed one to my school's auction.
    I just bought Time Spent with Friends. It arrived yesterday. Now I wanted to create a junk journal with it! With all the different die sets I own, I have yet to make a ribbon binding. I've always used your spine die. A foam spine intrigues me too! I can't wait to see the next in the series! 💜

    Memory books are also my passion. I have nearly all the Tonic memory books. I just finished one to hold little watercolors that I paint. I designed and made a box for it. My only complaint is that there are not boxes for most of the books. I like to store them in a box. They are so satisfying to make!

      It's a brilliant way to quickly put a book together, and I love how the pages lay flatter when you open them too.

    Thanks for sharing the album without dies. I’m in the U.S. can you share the paper size/measurements you used please.

    • @craftyleotonic
      @craftyleotonic ปีที่แล้ว

      HI there Sandra! Karen goes through how she calculated the measurements for her book during her make - starting at 06:16 in the video. If you're using US letter sized card instead of A4, you of course will only have 11" length to work with, so you would only get a 1" spine in the middle (5" for the front cover, 5" for the back cover, leaving 1" of cardstock left that will form the spine). Hope this helps! 🧡

    I would like to know about the pattern paper; that you use it is very pretty

    • @craftyleotonic
      @craftyleotonic ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Barbara! All of us used a different Tonic Studios paper for our makes. Karen used a very old pack called Romantic Cottage from the Forever Moments range, Alison used Beautiful Memories from our Dali Art range, and I used Mariposa Moments, also from Dali Art. Hope this helps!

      Hey there Nicky, so happy to hear we've inspired you! For the Super Trimmer - we are hoping it will be back but don't have any specific details as yet.

    Thanks for the tutorials! I can't wait to watch them all. I was wondering - where do you find the hexogonal shape reinforcements for the holes in the spine of the ribbon bound example?

    • @craftyleotonic
      @craftyleotonic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there Theresa, glad you enjoyed the video! In Alison's tutorial, the die set she's using (Time Spent With Friends) includes a die to cut these hole reinforcers. The die set I use (Treasured Dreams) also has a ribbon/ring spine and again, includes the die to cut the hole reinforcers. I'm pretty sure that most, if not all of the die sets we've designed that include this type of spine, also have the hole reinforcers as part of the set. I've added the links to these die sets into the video description for you in case you want to check them out! Happy crafting :)

    I would like to make my own without the dies as i don''t have any, what GSM would i use to make it

    • @craftyleotonic
      @craftyleotonic ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there Marian! For a basic book without dies, we'd still recommend a 300gsm cardstock to ensure that your book is sturdy and long lasting for years to come! Hope this helps. 😊

  • @denisedeeley2641
    @denisedeeley2641 ปีที่แล้ว

    What gsm weight do you use for the cover and also what weight for the leaves please?

    • @annscrafts2965
      @annscrafts2965 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe Jodie uses 300gsm for the cover & 216 for the spine.

    • @craftyleotonic
      @craftyleotonic ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Denise! You're definitely going to want a heavy-weight cardstock for your books where possible. Bear in mind that if you're gluing pages back to back as I have, you're effectively doubling the GSM, so you could use a lighter-weight cardstock in that case - all the mats and layers will also add additional strength and structure too. Generally speaking we would use 300GSM for the main construction of the book - both the cover and the internal pages.
      Hope this helps! Happy crafting :)

    I just made the first book added the panels. All I need to do is add the pockets and embellishments. Worked on it for about 45 minutes fast.
