    Good shit. I've been following Jack Fin from before you guys added them to your arsenal so I was stoked when I seen them become part of it. That Pelagus is a pretty amazing lure, super versatile!

    Would you guys be able to do a video on how you set your rods up for different fish ie leaders and lures and how you would use the different lures? I'm just getting right into rock fishing and would love to hear son techniques you guys use?

      We made a 3 hour long DVD covering all that stuff... www.morningtidefishing.com/collections/apparel/products/pelagic-off-the-rocks-dvd It's also available on Fishflicks fishflicks.tv/
      But to answer your question we use >50lb Fluorocarbon leader or >60lb Nylon leader, brands are sunline and black magic.
      This might help you with lures th-cam.com/video/Xb4uck26AwU/w-d-xo.html the good old metal is a great lure to start with (cheap, casts well, hooks fish).
      Hope this helps mate.

    How deep does the water need to be in order to hook up with tunas, GTs, etc.? Some of the spots in my area are more on the shallow side....

    yeah its a bad addiction the older popper, i know sub-surface lures catch all sorts but i can't see them so i wanna keep throwing a popper even if the surface is quiet

    Hey guys, love the vids and your channel. Just curious what braid line you guys are using? I've tried different brands from power pro, j-briad, cheap aldi braid, even that that crappy rorge braid for BCF when I'm hurling slugs out at Fraser Island. I've also tried the WFT gliss line but after testing the knot strength with various knots wasn't happy with it. I see that Dennis is using the WFT strong line with the big GTs so it's got me interested in it again. Any thoughts?

    • @MorningTideFishing
      @MorningTideFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mate most of us are using WFT KG STRONG Line (I'm pretty sure the "gliss" line is totally different stuff) we also like Tasline in 40lb and up. You can see what line we're using here... www.morningtidefishing.com/pages/morningtide-team (last part of each blurb)...
      Actually, after looking at that ^, there has been some changes, I gotta update it. The main change is I'm using the 39KG WFT line now because it's WAY smoother than the 32KG or 22KG (pretty sure they are like 4 strand and the 39KG is 6 or 8 strand). All of them are super thin for the breaking strain and we like it in general but 39kg and up is nice and smooth.
      Before we found WFT line we were on Tasline and it's also very good... th-cam.com/video/-9SR2zYndBI/w-d-xo.html They will even send you out a sample card so you can get a feel for each line class before you buy.
      So bottom line is we're stoked with either Tas or WFT, both have been good for us. Hope this helps mate YEW!

      Thanks heaps for taking the time to give me that great advice! I'll
      probs grab me a spool of the WFT line to replace the 80lb jbraid I'm
      using once it wears out a bit more. Have you guys tried different forms
      of LBG? Like live baiting or even using a drone? I've been doing some
      experimenting with slide baiting, and drone fishing off Fraser and
      managed to hook up to either massive Spanish or small Marlin. Hard to
      tell as I dropped the bait 250m out and the fish took an easy 200m of
      line with 7-10kg of drag like it was nothing. Did some sick aerials
      leaping 2 feet out the air, then broke my heart when it spat the hooks
      on the last jump! But that's fishin! Love your work guys, keep up the
      great work!

    • @MorningTideFishing
      @MorningTideFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow that sucks about losing that fish mate haha!
      We've tried everything except drone fishing but just love spinning, so our main focus is definitely C&R lure Fishing! Thanks for your support, we're stoked you like the films so much! Cheers mate

    I know nothing about these GT and such you guys fish for.I fish salmon and Steelhead,a big one is twenty lbs these days.My experience is that singles outperform trebles.Hook set is more eficiant,especially when barbless.The number of big fish landed goes up with a solid,corner of the mouth single hook set vs the weak lip hooks of the trebles.Too many times I have seen trebles work their way out when a single stayed stuck and got the picture.Is it the same with your fish?

    • @MorningTideFishing
      @MorningTideFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For us it's different for different lures and it affects the way the lures swim, so that is an added factor when choosing as well. But what we've found is Trebles = more hook ups but more dropped fish, Singles = harder to get the hook up but once hooks are set you land more. Some of the fish we get have super hard mouths and singles can struggle to get in there unless they line up perfect, in which case trebs may have stuck to the outside of the mouth somewhere or because of the multiple hooks found that perfect angle to sink into the mouth. But the jury is still out for us! Our lures are about 50/50 trebs vs singles and which ever we have on when we drop a fish gets blamed and we switch to the other haha.

      The day this becomes our full-time jobs (and we don't have to work other jobs to pay the bills) we will have tons of time for trips and editing and we'll actually be able to try all the cool ideas we have for video series (like proper gear reviews, mini comps, taking fans on trips, etc) but until then we can only put so much time into this.
      We've just finished our first exclusive Fishflicks film, which will be on their page in the next couple weeks. So that is taking a bit of time away from our youtube work as well but in theory is a step towards us doing this full time so good for TH-cam in the long run. All in all if you give us a couple years we'll hopefully be at this 24/7 and able to put out content much more frequently!
