Drake's speech was so moving and his words made me think of BTS....they might never win a Grammy but if you think about the kind of impact they've had across the world, it's enough for me.
When I heard Drake’s speech, I immediately thought of BTS even tho I don’t think he was talking to them. What’s interesting tho is Ed Sheeran said something very similar to Drake’s speech when he appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show as reported in an E!News article... “As Ed Sheeran told Ellen DeGeneres after his platinum-selling ÷ didn't earn an Album of the Year nomination, the true honor was his fans' response to the music (not to mention the sales numbers). "But that's the point, that's where you win," the English artist said. "That's where the validation comes from, where you actually see people-genuine people-enjoying the songs. So very interesting that both these music industry stars are saying the same thing which BTS & Army can ponder...As much as we all pray BTS will be recognized by the Recording Academy someday, BTS are already winners because of how many people their music have moved, saved, inspired and motivated to be our better selves & to love ourselves & to support others around us. BTS wins every award in the hearts of Armies worldwide and will continue to do so in the future.
@Fer 094 I got to hear a good portion of his speech...well at least the one I felt resonated with BTS. “You’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you are a hero in your hometown. If there is people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this right here, I promise you, you already won.”
I haven't seen them so happy in a long time. Even though obviously they were being recorded, they were free to be themselves without the restraints put on them in their own country. They are so serious at the Korean award shows and have so many phones in their faces for hours at a time recording every micro expression. They seemed relaxed. They could dance freely, laugh, smirk, frown and be star struck themselves. I'm so glad they had this experience.
Lily.Wrenn You know what, I find BTS to be themselves anywhere they go even at awards shows in their country. They are basically the only group that does show any emotions at the awards show. If they like an artist enough it is known because they show it. This is one reason I like about them. They appreciate others work and let them know about it💥

I was thinking the same thing! It's so stiff in the award shows in Korea. Whereas in these shows artists openly and freely enjoy each other's artistry. Tae Tae said that himself on the Vlive...that he loved how everyone was enjoying each other. Now I get why they have become a little dry with their reactions in Korea....when you experience how it is to genuinely enjoy something without fear of scandals it's hard to go back

I hope they managed to rest. They said they stayed up all night before flying to LA working on new music. Maybe they slept on the long flight to switch their hours, but with the time difference who knows how much traveling and jet lag actually hit them.

Kook being adorbs when crying (happy tears no doubt, i dont think it was cos of dolly, more like cos he can't believe he's at the grammys and its only just hit him). Joon being all cute while waiting for H.E.R. to come on stage. All of them look so relaxed and were having so much fun! No doubt this is where they belong. Up there with people who live and breathe for their music. So proud of them! Jin looking like he's having the time of his life.
