I made this video to study how well my oscilloscope stacks up against the competition and to look for what I can improve. My goal is not to copy every behavior of an analog oscilloscope, but to study it on a purely aesthetic basis and take it further by expanding on the artistic and creative options.

I'm pretty sure MOTU looks real wild because it also shows the lines that aren't supposed to be shown, and indicating all the different intensities with different colors instead of different lightnesses.
Yep, but MOTU has also an extended processing time. The frames are sometimes slowing down, but yes it shows the mathematical relevance on how the shapes are getten formed.

Are these using mutithreading, some kind of Visual latency with the motu. Do oscilloscope simulation real-time screen rendering Music for the eyes

Soundemote is definitely great, so it may be difficult to pinpoint what needs improvement. I do really like the "thermal vision" effect where more recently active portions are bright yellow while areas of lesser activity are blue/purple. And I think we can all agree "At least it's more accurate than MOTU."
I0NE007 no i dont agree moto is more accurate so much so that its shows the fast conecting wires wich is not good in this case but in some different cases it could be

I think the difference in "accuracy" is between "properly displays what the signal truly equates to" (having additional lines others don't display on other systems) versus "properly displays a digital representation of what a physical oscilloscope would display for this signal."
I0NE007 Apparently it actually displays all the lines that make the others look fuzzy when there is bass. The lines are basically just there. In MOTU, at least.

Was Motu just not configured properly or something. It seems to be drawing lines it shouldn't be.
It has beam return paths. The beam is moving at 196+ kHz frequencies, afterall.
CRT oscilloscopes have a special part of their electron gun that temporarily blocks the beam as the magnetic field coils are jumping back to the beginning without turning off the heater. That would also turn off the beam, but it would have to cool down and warm up again.
