Bravo, John! I fully agree with you: rFactor 2 has cought me back, as a new old player, enjoying it again, a lot, after all their recent updates, they have implemented into this sim! Good informative video! Thumps up from me, there! 👍👍
Ok so I am about 5 hours into this game and before I start going online I would like to spend a bit more time just driving it. It did take a while for me to even get a race working I had to come to terms with things like finding a good setting for the "car specific multiplier" each time I want to try a new car, quite frustrating it would be good if they had some sort of base setting for each car but whatever I guess I will get the hang of it eventually. What I really want is a way to save certain races with tracks cars and grids so I can just open the game select a preset and have a race like I have with content manager in AC It's great for when people are around and you just want to load up a simple race for them is there any way to do that? I think you can make custom series I suppose that might work? I really want to like this sim but it seems such a steep learning curve for me I must be missing some things that make it more approachable.
@@thedave7760 it's about the driving experience. I only.use it online or in league or sometimes to recreate content for this channel. I'm not into offline championships so that isn't a selling point for me :)
Nice informative vid, but I digress in it being the best simulator, Rfactor2 is too barebones in features to be the "best". Its physics, ffb and how the sounds interact with the ffb is top notch indeed, but for offline players there's not much to do outside of the odd race here and there and hotlapping, most mods are pretty lackluster and even the official older content is a lacking, the Brabham BT44 and the McLarenM23 don't feel all that great and don't even have hand animations, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. These updates feel like some kind of beta tests for the LeMans game, I think that's going to be the focus for Motorsports game right now.
There are some cars in factor 2 that when we make the turn, even if the turn is slow, the car loses its rear end very easily, is there a way to fix this?
Rf2 IS suddenly alot better but its still a platform for others to play im. New daily races is a good thing but the free content is......no. It is cheap to buy into so it has that over iracing. Very barebones though
And........................... it still looks like crap............. Assetto Corsa is a far better sim. Looks better and so much quicker to just get racing. Way to much BS involved with Rf. I use to race it years ago both 1 and 2 but it is out of date and needs a big facelift. Yes it does feel good FFB wise but that will no longer hold my interest anymore with all of the other great sims to chose from and new sims coming in the near future. Good job on the video though but no sale.

To be honest mate I haven't dove into the offline series creation and even if you can save a preset
@@happilyaverageracer Am I missing something there are no preset challenges or series? It seems it is all about online and not much else?

I have Fanatec wheel like you. How good is forcefeedback effect on Rfactor 2? Is it good as Asseto Corsa or better? Thanks
Rf2 is the best ffb and tyre physics out of all the sims

It’s the best for me and I know not everyone will agree with that, I mean for some people Mario Kart will be their favourite simulator 😂

Can you specify a few examples ?
Didn't see the link for the re shader

Very barebones though
The free content is great . The Radicals and the Tatuus cars are great fun .
Absolutely, other great thing is I've driven cars and tracks that I would never had tried had it not been for the online beta

There really is no BS involved mate it's as simple as it is in the video 😀
Thanks the comment on the video 👌
