Thank you so much for sharing your valuable knowledge! If you want your barrel seal/O ring to last take one drop of pellet gun oil Pellgun oil. It is easy on the rubber seals....
I'll never forgot the video of Remington field testing the 1100 shooting hundreds of ammo and getting it hot then throwing it in a pond then reshooting it. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the breakdown. I'm so glad I own this iconic firearm it's one of my favorites for sure.
Would love to see a dedicated video on the 1100LW 20 gauge history and versions. I inherited a mismatched 1100LW that came with a Remington barrel stamped LW that has a long tang, identical to the LT models. My limited research makes me think this shouldn’t exist, but it just tells me there’s more to the story than I’ve been able to dig up. This was a great video by the way. Thank you.
Still have my dads 1100 20g he bought in the early 1970s. About 10 years ago i picked up a 1100 in 12g with extended mag tube. Holds 7 plus 1 chambered in 3 inch mag.
Broke the action bar assembly on mine a few months back. Problem I ran into was that there are no new OEM parts for the 1100 and 11-87s anymore. Took me a long time to find the part that it needed. Secondly, finding a smith nowadays who knows their way around these venerable old guns is getting harder. Seems like all they know how to do are thread barrels and build ARs. Nice to see that there are still some guys around that know these shotguns.
We have had a couple where the action bar had broken at the saddle where it attaches to the action bar sleeve. eBay has been helpful although the parts are not getting any cheaper. We have been successful in silver soldering the action bar and restoring function.
Owned 2 1100’s. Wanted the special field when it came out then the 870 Special field came out bought instead. Lighter to carry as I hunted quail back in late 70 and early 80’s
I’ve got a 77 model 1100 I inherited from my grandpa been shot only a handful of times comepletely disassembled and cleaned it all out and it’s like brand new
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have taken care of several 20 gauge 1100s used in our County 4H program. Taught the kids to clean them at the end of the day and the maintenance items you covered and they run just fine. Best part is the reduced recoil compared to other shotguns that we tried. Have you ever worked on any early 12 gauge 1100s that have a crimped ring on the magazine tube instead of an O-Ring?
I own a 1100 20 ga L ( left handed) this gun is a monster performer Dove, Quail, Pheasant I cannot even think about using anything else an its an older gun you should see the beautiful wood.
I have two vintage 1100's in near mint condition 12 ga. both can shoot 11 rounds with the Carlson's extension tube 2 3/4 in shells only !!! It don't get no better !!!
I own an 1100 lt 20 and two 11-87 premier light contours And the new remington 1100 sporting is the exact same gun as the 11-87 premier light contour 👌 (down to the most minor detail)
I have a 20 gauge 870 special field. Never seen another like it other than a 20 gauge 1100 special field that was with the one I bought. I got the 870 because it was less expensive. How rare is this gun?
When I was looking for my first autoloading Shotgun, I was cautioned numerous times not to buy a Remington 1100 as they had problems. One person specifically mentioned the "seals". I bought a used Browning B80 in immaculate condition that came with a second barrel with screw in chokes. Never had any issues with it.
@@BTORange in 1899 Browning went to the President of Remington to present him a chance to manufacture his shotgun. While waiting in his office the president of Remington died. Browning then went to Fabric National who made hid shotgun. After many years it became the Remington 1100 with a few superficial changes.
A smart Alek guide in Argentina once cracked to me that they called them 1099’s because one part was always broken. Some perspective, dove guns in Argentina can see thousands of rounds in a day without adequate rest for cooling. Citoris were always my choice for this reason. Great video! Every 1100 owner should watch it.
I have three 1100 and they all work flawlessly and the wood is beautiful and the fit finish and bluing is phenomenal

Numrich will sometimes have the parts you need.
Hanging onto my 16, guage 1100
Great video! I have the Premier Edition 11-87 in 20 ga, beautiful shotgun and it has been very reliable.
16ga is my favorite gauge

I’ve got a circa 1980s in absolute mint condition. I Don’t believe it’s ever been fired, but it will be soon🙏

I got mine for Christmas in 1980. Still unfired

I got my 1100 for Christmas 1980 . I was senior in high school. The 1100 has never been fired and is just as mint 44 years later
STILL IN THE ORIGINAL BOX?
I HAVE A BRAND NEW ONE IN THE ORIGINAL BOX FROM 1966 or 1967, I HAVE TO DOUBLE CHECK.
I own a 1100 20 ga L ( left handed) this gun is a monster performer Dove, Quail, Pheasant I cannot even think about using anything else an its an older gun you should see the beautiful wood.
Great video! Thank you and I hope you feel better….
Love my 1100! Many a big tom has died in front of er.
Outstanding.
Great video
EXCELLENT!
I still compete in 3 gun with my 9 shot 1100.

My b80 dislikes light loads
It's too bad you were lied to because there's probably no better semi-automatic weapon made today than the Remington 1100
I have a first year 12 gauge, practically stole it for $200 in early 2020. I would love to find a 16 or 20 gauge
Why isn’t John Browning mentioned. He was the man behind the 1100 after his shotgun was developed in Belgium years ahead of Remington .
Completely different design. The Remington Model 11 and Model 11/48 were based on the Browning long recoil design but the Remington 1100 is not.

That is true regarding the Model 11. The Model 1100 is gas operated and completely different.
I have Remington 1100 in Lt 20 ga special my grandpas

Buongiorno, vorrei sapere come rilevare la strozzatura sulla canna quale e’ il codice impresso sulla canna m grazie

Can dry fire damage a Remington 1100 ?
It should not.
I will keep my 11-87 Remington 12gauge,,3 inch.28inch barrel & screw in chokes,,Thank you,
Does Remington still make the 1100?
RemArms will be producing the Model 1100 in 12ga, 20ga and .410 but in "Sporting" version only.
My grand father left me this shotgun I’m 54 and still have it. I’m a former police officer, and I absolutely will not part with it.
