- College wasn't on Joe Namath's mind as a wannabe baseball player, but this Pennsylvania native wanted to please his mom. Turning to football under Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, Joe learned to be hungry for the win. It was a trait he carried with him just shy of graduation when he went to the pros in New York. Motivated by his daughter's challenge to be the first to finish college, Joe joined the class of 2007, always hungry for the win and holding a special place for The University of Alabama in his heart.

Man, how i would love to spend a couple of hours with Mr. Namath.
I am 68 years old and Mr. Namath has always been my favorite Alabama player.
I was at Shea stadium in 1974 and saw him play ball.
Namath and Stabler….both great HOF quarterbacks both Bama alumni
