Jimmy Swaggart is a godly man. God has forgiven him any indisgretions in his life just as he has forgiven all of us. As a Christian, to not accept Bro. Swaggart's repentance, is the same as saying you are better than God and have higher standards than God. What God has forgiven and forgotten, we are all obligated to forgive and forget. I watch him and am blessed tremendously when he preaches or sings.

Does one have to be water baptized in Jesus Name or in the Name of Jesus Christ to be saved, or to complete one's salvation. I personally don't believe the water baptism saves you, just wanted to see what other's believe.

(Acts 2:38) "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:16) So the Word of God means nothing to you? It is of no importance ?

Can't you think ? B) It is a part of the saving process according to the Word. You receive the gift from Above, and as a believer you go into the watery grave in obedience to the Word. Not unwilling, but made willing by Him. You are eager to please Him and to obey Him. And so you are blessed. C) The thief on the cross could not do any of that because he was not able. God is not demanding that we must do things we are not able to do. But those that are able are told what to do, and it is not difficult. D) Who has said anything about babies? Of course babies do not believe, and they are not able to walk into the watery grave either. They must grow to a certain age so they can have their personal encounter with the living God and receive the gift of faith, and then walk into the watery grave.
@@bosse641 You do not understand the context of Acts. It is believing the Word of God people were born again not water baptism (Acts 2:41). Baptism is not a prerequisite to get into heaven. Your problem is that you don't understand Water baptism and the Holy Spirit baptism in the context. Water baptism is a symbol of identification and not of salvation. It is not a requirement to get into heaven because it is only a public profession of the faith. Salvation is a free gift and cannot be earned by a work such as baptism. God only justifies those who do not try to earn their salvation. It is a free gift.

Just like what happened to the eunuch: "Philip proclaimed the good news(Gospel) about Jesus to him. As they went down the road, they came to some water. The eunuch said, “Look! Water! Does one have to be water baptized in Jesus Name or in the Name of Jesus Christ to be saved, or to complete one's salvation. I personally don't believe the water baptism saves you, just wanted to see what other's believe.
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:16) So the Word of God means nothing to you? It is of no importance ?
@@bosse641 Baptism has nothing to do with salvation. It is an ordinance to follow AFTER you've been saved. The thief on the cross was not baptized. You have to believe to be baptized. Babies can't believe.

A) How can baptism have nothing to do with salvation when the Word tells us that "He who believes and is baptized will be saved" ? Can't you read ? Can't you think ?
B) It is a part of the saving process according to the Word. You receive the gift from Above, and as a believer you go into the watery grave in obedience to the Word. Not unwilling, but made willing by Him. You are eager to please Him and to obey Him. And so you are blessed.
C) The thief on the cross could not do any of that because he was not able. God is not demanding that we must do things we are not able to do. But those that are able are told what to do, and it is not difficult.
D) Who has said anything about babies? Of course babies do not believe, and they are not able to walk into the watery grave either. They must grow to a certain age so they can have their personal encounter with the living God and receive the gift of faith, and then walk into the watery grave.
@@bosse641 You do not understand the context of Acts. It is believing the Word of God people were born again not water baptism (Acts 2:41).
Baptism is not a prerequisite to get into heaven.
Your problem is that you don't understand Water baptism and the Holy Spirit baptism in the context.
Water baptism is a symbol of identification and not of salvation. It is not a requirement to get into heaven because it is only a public profession of the faith.
Salvation is a free gift and cannot be earned by a work such as baptism. God only justifies those who do not try to earn their salvation. It is a free gift.
@@johnbrowne3950 The gift is free, but there is also a walk of obedience after that, and it seems like the watery grave is a part of that. Just like what happened to the eunuch: "Philip proclaimed the good news(Gospel) about Jesus to him. As they went down the road, they came to some water.
The eunuch said, “Look! Water! What would keep me from being baptized?” (Acts 8:35-37) What was that all about then ? Clearly he saw that as a necessary step in the saving of his soul.
