Just ordered a 65” Bravia 7 today for $1500 on Amazon. I was leaning towards a Bravia 8 at first, but I’m still hesitant to buy an OLED that will have noticeable burn in within a few years. Plus the room I’m putting it in is relatively bright. I have black out shutters that would make it nearly pitch black, but I always like some natural light to come in. The Bravia 9 looks beautiful, but I don’t know if the price-to-peformance ratio is worth it over the 7. I’m quite confident I made the right choice.

In my basement family room those things aren't very important. The room is 13 feet wide and we site 13-14 feet away from the 85" Bravia 7. I just purchased this Bravia 7 TV from Costco for $1399. For the same price I could have bought the Samsung S90D or LG C4 (for $100 more) OLED models, which were both stunning. Many people, especially OLED fans, might think it's crazy to pass-up the OLED models at the same price,...but for me,...the OLED's were just a bit too overwhelming with the colors. I wanted as much true color as possible. Initially, I was looking at the Sony X90CL at $999, but seeing the 2 TV's side-by-side, decided to spend the extra $400 and get the Bravia 7,...which really wasn't even on my radar of 2 weeks' research, until seeing it on the floor at Costco.

Great review! I have my walls in white color so worried if tv can catches in screen reflection. A80l has good viewing angle and good screen reflection, but really like new processing and brightness of bravia 7. Which one should i go for? Thank you in advance :)
If you have plans for that wide of viewing then you're definitely going to want to go with the A80L. OLED is still going to look better if you have control over the light in your area. Thanks for the feedback on my video 🤝
For me it was, I like this TV more than the X90L due to its brightness capabilities. If you don't need the brightness, get the X90L and save some money.
I went to best buy and compared B7 and B9 side by side. I somehow felt B9’s screen was glossy and had lot of reflections compared to matte screen of B7. I also found B7 was as good as B9. Is it just me or what am I missing ?
i just bought the Bravia 7 - 75” and waiting for it to be delivered. I viewed both the 7 and 9 at the store and found the B9 too bright. The B7 was more relaxing for my eyes. The picture on both TVs seemed to degrade a bit at an angle. It’’s just not only the 7. Straight-on the picture of the B-7 is great and this will be how we will be viewing it in our room. I could not justify the price of the 9.
Decision's, decision's, B7 or TCL QM7 or QM8 all close in price range for comparable sizes, yet they compare QM7 or QM8 to the B9, which is substantially more. Undecided the best way to fly. My 2010 Sony XR 55 just died, not complaining, it served me well for 14yrs. So I know Sony will bring longevity, but unsure of TCL. Your thought's!! Enjoyed your vlog, appreciated your review, thank you.
Great reviews thanks! Do you see any colour shift from different angles? I find if I shift one seat to the side (say 15-20 degrees) colours start to fade and I begin to see some DSE banding, mainly only evident when watching sports with a green field. Any chance you could try? But front on it’s a beautiful vibrant picture and a massive upgrade from my 9 year old 4K Sony without hdr
Sounds like you have a keen eye for TVs, if that's the case you'll definitely notice the minor color shift, especially on a green field. When I look at this TV without my reviewer hat on, it is fantastic, even with the minor 15-20 degree to the side. Hope this helps 🫡
@@TomasVillegasprobably a bit of OCD tbh! But you’re right, I’m going to enjoy it for what it is and if I want the best experience sit straight on, and accept should I sit slightly wider there will be a minor shift in colour. Thank you, I needed this talking to! Keep up the great reviews and thanks so much for replying!
If you haven’t tried it yet I would try the X95L, should be able to get a good deal in current end of line sales, replaced my G2 with it (same reasons as your other video, and it was my third LG requiring repairs after a C1, C2). X95L is the better set too compared to the B7 , viewing angles etc. Given your review of the x90l, think you’d love it :) (Understand if you’re in the US, 85” might be a bit much)
Was waiting on this thanks for sharing your experience. I know you just got it but for initial impressions when comparing to your X90L would you say it’s significantly better in picture quality or “samey”.
So is Bravia 9 worth the extra $$$ in comparison to Bravia 7? I have a soundbar so the tv speaker quality is not that important. I really wanted Bravia 8, but it seems too dim in comparison to more expensive OLEDs like G4 or A95l, S95d. Someone help please 😂
I had madeup my mind to buy A95l a few days back but with new Bravia 7, it looks more brighter and colourful. I am not sure how it compares with Bravia 8. So, as of now, thinking of Bravia 7.
Sorry to be commenting again 😊. I just checked Sony A80l seems to be in the same price range as B7 and it is OLED TV. Would you recommend A80l over B7.
I’m on the fence with 85” X90L vs the Bravia 7 in the same size…$1000 price difference. Since you’ve owned both, in your opinion is it worth the cost differential? Btw, have two other OLEDS in the house right now but because this tv will be in the living room, I don’t want an OLED, in fact replacing a 77” G2. Thanks for the review and appreciate your down-to-earth approach. Take care.
There’s a noticeable difference in brightness so I think it’s worth the difference at that size. I’d still wait for a sale to happen if you can. Thanks for the feedback on the video 🤝
I have always been a Sony fan because of there outstanding image processing of lower bit rate content and there excellent out of the box performance. You don't have to mess around with changing a lot of settings. In regards to the Bravia 7 I did notice the off angle viewing drop off in performance when I viewed the TV recently. Colors begin to wash out noticeably to me. Straight on viewing is outstanding. I also feel it is overpriced especially at this time. I liked the x93L last year but even when it was on sale I thought it was still over priced and did not have the XR Clear feature to help clean up the processing of low bit rate content. I thought the X90L was Sony's best value to performance TV last year and recommended that model to a friend who purchased that model in the 85 inch size and is very happy with their purchase.
The G4 will have the best picture quality no doubt about it. But it’s also twice the price and has the usual OLED tradeoffs like less brightness (still reasonably bright though) and burn in potential. So it really depends on your budget and preferences. If you’re in the budget area of the G4 you’d probably be better off comparing to the Bravia 9 than the 7.
Awesome review. Wanting to get this tv - will be using in basement - watch football games, sport, occasional movie - looking to get 85 inch. Just want to make sure its bright, colorful to enjoy sports and good at upscaling these lame Spectrum cable channels. Doing dedicated home theater and have Lg Oled to use for movies.
I bought the B7 a week ago and thought the picture quality is excellent from a reasonable viewing angle. Unfortunately, as stated in the video, it falls apart very fast when viewing from off to the sides. I disappointingly decided to return it, as this would not work with my living room layout.
It depends on the living room layout. My TV is mounted on a wall that is over 30ft long, with 2 couches parallel to the wall straight in front (prime viewing) , and 2 sofas perpendicular to the tv wall ( not so prime viewing). When viewing from the side sofas that TV was pretty much unwatchable. I resolved the issue by replacing with LG G4... Looks great from all angles.
@@kymyst18t ok got it. Great that you are enjoying G4. I'm looking considering between mini LED vs OLED i.e. B7 vs G4. Although I'hv almost fimalize G4.
Really enjoying your take on this TV, which looks like a great value, although I'm still torn between it and the X90L. (Either will be a big step up from a failing 50" Pioneer plasma, though.) Just some clarification: for the X90L, the Costco model had the upgraded remote (backlit & Find My Remote function) but according to Sony's site, all of the 2024 Bravias (or at least 7, 8, & 9) get the upgraded remote. Are you sure it's only the Costco Bravia 7 that has it in North America? (I'm in Canada, and our Costco packages aren't quite the same: eg 2-year warranty, with 4 more years you can buy from Asurion.) Thanks!
Unless it has changed since i published this video, the non-Costco models do not come with the upgraded remote. It may be different up north with y’all so it’s hard to say. After having owned both, I’d say spend a little more and go with the 7. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks for the comment.
I also have the 85x90L and it's not perfect but sometimes I can't believe I'm watching an led big screen as it simply performs amazing with most content and games!
I received a 65" for Father's day and it's kinda disappointing. Biggest fault is the horrible viewing angle. The blacks aren't that great to start with and fade to grey and washed out just a few feet off center. It's not worth more than $1300. Imho
People & reviewers, if Sony moved the earc port to a HDMI 2.0 port, how would a 2.1 receiver work when connecting multiple 2.1 devices. Do you not see the reason for HDMI 3 being the earc port. Please use your brains
Question when watching a movie with letterbox bars are they black or dark gray. I know the newest TCL Q8M has very deep blacks that people love. I would much rather have the Sony but I don't want to buy the TV if the letterbox bars aren't black. Even my old Vizio from 2021 had to special feature that made the letterbox bars deep black.

If you have plans for that wide of viewing then you're definitely going to want to go with the A80L. OLED is still going to look better if you have control over the light in your area. Thanks for the feedback on my video 🤝
Is this a big upgrade from the X90l because the Costco deal on the x90l seems good but the B7 55 size is in my budget on Sony's website?
For me it was, I like this TV more than the X90L due to its brightness capabilities. If you don't need the brightness, get the X90L and save some money.
@@TomasVillegas Hey tomas, is there a built in app for testing data speed through wifi or ethernet?
I went to best buy and compared B7 and B9 side by side. I somehow felt B9’s screen was glossy and had lot of reflections compared to matte screen of B7. I also found B7 was as good as B9. Is it just me or what am I missing ?
I would agree with you. I couldn’t justify the additional cost. I still think this TV is still a bit too high in price.
i just bought the Bravia 7 - 75” and waiting for it to be delivered.
Given your review of the x90l, think you’d love it :)
(Understand if you’re in the US, 85” might be a bit much)
I think I would have gone that route if it wasn’t only available at 85. That’s too big for my space. 😅
Appreciate the comment and recommendation 👍
Can’t decide with Bravia 7 or Samsung S90D, please advise 😂
I’m bias. Bravia 7 😅
A good honest review - thanks
Thanks for watching 👍
Was waiting on this thanks for sharing your experience.
I know you just got it but for initial impressions when comparing to your X90L would you say it’s significantly better in picture quality or “samey”.
I love the Mini LED and brightness gains over the X90L. In my opinion it's significantly better, but only if the 7 is $1500-1600 range. Not for $2000.
I don’t think it is. Save your money and go 7. 👍
I had madeup my mind to buy A95l a few days back but with new Bravia 7, it looks more brighter and colourful. I am not sure how it compares with Bravia 8. So, as of now, thinking of Bravia 7.
If you decide 7 you won’t be disappointed. Especially if you get it on sale. 👍
Thank you for the reply😊. BTW, B9 is not available in 55/65 inches. So, I think B7 is the only option for me.
Sorry to be commenting again 😊. I just checked Sony A80l seems to be in the same price range as B7 and it is OLED TV. Would you recommend A80l over B7.
I’m on the fence with 85”
X90L vs the Bravia 7 in the same size…$1000 price difference.
@@TomasVillegas thank you for the Reply, much appreciated and best wishes!
Why are you replacing a a top quality oled like the G2 with a mini led TV ? Any issues with the G2?
X90l or b7.
Bravia 7 has my vote.
Hows the overall blooming in subtitles
It's there, but I think it's managed well enough that it doesn't bother me. I know some folks are super sensitive to it.
Nice detailed review! Would appreciate time stamps plz, but that's not a dig at the content. Great going.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll make a more concerted effort to do that with my longer videos 🤝
Is it an improvement from x90k? Less blooming?
It’s definitely an upgrade over the X90K.
Thanks for sharing your experience 🤝
Yoo awesome review man!! How are you liking the tv so far??
Thanks for the feedback. I’m loving it over the X90L. It’s so much brighter. 👍
Which TV is Best One? LG G4 OLED or Bravia 7?
Bravia 7
The G4 will have the best picture quality no doubt about it.
But it’s also twice the price and has the usual OLED tradeoffs like less brightness (still reasonably bright though) and burn in potential.
So it really depends on your budget and preferences.
If you’re in the budget area of the G4 you’d probably be better off comparing to the Bravia 9 than the 7.
Will you review 77 inch Bravia 9?
If only I had the money 😅
@@TomasVillegas Oh! Ok.
Good choice! This is great for sports.
I bought the B7 a week ago and thought the picture quality is excellent from a reasonable viewing angle. Unfortunately, as stated in the video, it falls apart very fast when viewing from off to the sides. I disappointingly decided to return it, as this would not work with my living room layout.
How much side angle? And why you need to watch tv from side instead of from the front?
Who the Fk watches TV from the side I don't!
Anyone still have the XBR-55X850D? Really good viewing angles, blacks not great, Android TV now too slow and use a Chromecast 4k with Google TV.
Black Friday prices on this is $1799 for the 75".
That’s a killer deal!
Any good?
Very good 👍
@@TomasVillegas but is it good enough? Brivia 9?
Really enjoying your take on this TV, which looks like a great value, although I'm still torn between it and the X90L. (Either will be a big step up from a failing 50" Pioneer plasma, though.)
Just some clarification: for the X90L, the Costco model had the upgraded remote (backlit & Find My Remote function) but according to Sony's site, all of the 2024 Bravias (or at least 7, 8, & 9) get the upgraded remote. Are you sure it's only the Costco Bravia 7 that has it in North America? (I'm in Canada, and our Costco packages aren't quite the same: eg 2-year warranty, with 4 more years you can buy from Asurion.)
Thanks!
Unless it has changed since i published this video, the non-Costco models do not come with the upgraded remote. It may be different up north with y’all so it’s hard to say. After having owned both, I’d say spend a little more and go with the 7. You’ll be glad you did.
Thanks for the comment.
@@TomasVillegasThanks for the prompt reply - very helpful advice. Hoping for some decent Black Friday pricing.🤞
Great review but I think I’ll hold on to my X90 (75”). The $2500 price is too close to the A80 to justify it. Looks great, though.
Appreciate the feedback. Thanks 🤝
I also have the 85x90L and it's not perfect but sometimes I can't believe I'm watching an led big screen as it simply performs amazing with most content and games!
X90k??
I received a 65" for Father's day and it's kinda disappointing. Biggest fault is the horrible viewing angle. The blacks aren't that great to start with and fade to grey and washed out just a few feet off center. It's not worth more than $1300. Imho
@@akombalasau4022 x90l. Not sure how different it is from the k.
Waiting on Black Friday for the 85
Hi, is the bravia 7 a downgrade compared to the LG C3?
Two different types of panels, the C3 is a great OLED. And this TV is a pretty great Mini LED.
@@TomasVillegas I just copped the A80L seems like an awesome tv
Nice review . layman review . it is our eyes that watch the TV , not the equipment . trust our eyes .
Thanks for watching!
Wel explained ❤
Thanks for watching 🤝
good one my brother !
Sony x90L full array led .. do you mean x93L mini led while comparing with Bravia 7
Or buy a 2.1 enabled soundbar.
Still need eARC to be on one of the 2.0 HDMI.
In India, on 7-7-24, estimated price is Rs2.18 Lakhs.
Don't buy
@@gojo_satoru_sama WHY, are you using this TV already, can you explain your experience, pros and cons of this video.
@@mg-zo2dq independence offer i got it in 150000 offer

65 to small for that room
Naw. It’s perfect.
"Dolbly" Vison, hahaha
🙃
@TomasVillegas was cute, hehe
the only problem is it’s not a glossy screen. that’s a deal break tbh
Returned mine due to this made the picture hazy went a95l nowhere near as bright but it's a nicer picture
People & reviewers, if Sony moved the earc port to a HDMI 2.0 port, how would a 2.1 receiver work when connecting multiple 2.1 devices. Do you not see the reason for HDMI 3 being the earc port. Please use your brains
😉
Bravia7 and 9 are not the best gaming TVs. They do not support 1440, so you cannot play Call of Duty in 120 hertz.
I get 4K at 120Hz on this TV playing COD. Same with the X90L.
They’re closer to black and won’t disappoint. But if you’re sensitive to it, OLED may be the direction you want to go.
@@TomasVillegas exactly, plus OLED picture quality just hit differently
