Here's a tip: How about next time you Americans vote for someone who actually epouses ideology and policies rather than just patronising you with broad generalisations about abstract notions like 'change'. He said his (incredibly simple) piece and you all bleated along like sheep. I don't know how you could trust a man so without so substance.
Some of us didn't fall for it. Of course some of us aren't uninformed or young kids with not a lick of wisdom. Helps that I had a Dad who grew up during the depression and that I remember the Carter years.
Well it ticked me off back in 2008 - I was a 17 year old British kid hearing that man's rhetorical nonsense and yet I felt totally powerless to do anything to combat it.
And hey-presto, America picked the wrong man... and then they did it again.
Every time I see some young California sort who comes over here to London and marvels at the UK's supposed civilisation when compared to the US, I just wish that I could take his passport straight off him and hand over mine. It's sad that some of us overseas can better appreciate America than the natives... The misguided youth can come over here to Europe and spend some time living with socialism for themselves.
Because white guilt.. Seriously, allot of people were accused of being racist for not wanting to vote for him... Funny how that works.
the wonderful thing about generalizing is that it allows the masses to create their own picture about the broad idea that the manipulator has in mind even if that method or end result won't occur in that fashion, if at all. if you identify yourself as following a specific idea, from points A-Z, then anyone who doesn't like points E, L, P, etc. will ultimately not follow you. By only saying points A and Z, then the middle part, or the way in which the operation is committed, is left to the voter's imagination, even if it is a far cry from the actual outcome. it's a neat trick that works on the growing uneducated, lazy, and uninformed public that will ultimately pick the manipulator's plan because it seems to fit better with what they imagine is a better plan. and then once their leader is in power, they wonder why things aren't going as they planned.
Here's another tip: There's always someone who is and who isn't satisfied with your president. I wonder why, oh wait no I don't.

I'm Hispanic and I still think Obama was a horrible president. It's sad people think it's because he's black. It's not that.... it's the fact we tired of having a weak president who's scared to speak up for the country.
And then there is Trump.
You do realise a presidency doesnt mean you get to do things that you want. In a democracy, power is dispersed to prevent one person dictating everything. Especially when you have a republican majority in the house and senate you cant do what you want to do. Do you really think when the politics and rich have incredible leverage in washington, a mere president can do something about it? If he pushed hard for everything he would get impeached by groups that wont be happy with those things.

Every once in a while, I revisit this video. I never cease to be impressed that the voice performances of these two are actually better, IMHO, than those of the original GOTYE video, especially regarding the female vocalist in this video. Her voice is powerful yet clear, making for a performance piercing both in its delivery and message.
I have a feeling that long after Obama is out of office, this is the Video That We Will Still Know.
Ya'll Americans should be happy about healthcare because all people have access to it now. I am of Canada, and health care's pretty nifty.
That is where you're wrong. It is nothing like Canadas healthcare. It's only free for some people, not for all like in Canada. You need to do your research a little better.
I thought that it was kind of like taxes where those who can afford to pay more do while those who can't afford to pay more pay less depending on how much income they make. Either way, having healthcare is good for emergency situations. Also healthcare isn't entirely free, for some parts Canadians have to pay or be covered through insurance benefits offered through their workplaces.
Marlee-Ann Lyle Some people who don't have insurance, and need to get insurance that they can afford.... get denied, and others who can't pay for insurance at ALL get accepted. Obamacare was designed to fail, it's a false sense of security.

Becoming President requires millions of dollars in funding, political backing, you have to be 35 years old, have the complete support of an entire party, and never done anything wrong because the negative press you'll get otherwise will destroy your reputation. None of us has the required items to become President.

Born here, educated here, speak better English than Spanish, have never been to Mexico, etc. Why the military and not college? If you have a student who is very bright and getting straight As and scholarship offers- why force them into the military to become legal? That doesn't make any sense. How about allowing a deferment for those in the military or earning an education- not as citizens, but to allow these clearly productive people to obtain a work permit? Oh, wait! That's the DREAM Act!

I know what you mean, I work a 10.7 hour shift everyday and come in an hour early and work through lunch and stay after and hour each day 4 times a week. And im having a difficult time saving up for my future. It so hard to have the money to eat and live and donate to my Ira and mutual funds for my future living.
You're talking to someone who does 12hrs a day 5 days a week. I work 60 hours a week and still don't make enough to keep my home going, I don't work a teenager's job either. I had to file bankruptcy 3 years back. I NEVER get a handout or help from my country. There seems to be more incentive for me to just quit my job and get a dead-end menial job and apply for Gov. benefits.

The Obama administration recently had a new new call center set up, so employers could call in and ask questions from trained personnel, manning the center, regarding Obamacare. Although, over 10,000 people applied for the call center jobs, only 200 or so were hired. The vast majority of those who were hired were only offered part time positions (not full time), because the Feds did not want these new hires to be eligible for Obamacare, You can't make this stuff up!!!
Sad truth is that this was to be expected. Obama was always a pretty moderate candidate who wasn't going to push for heavy progress.
I like how we expect a president to fix anything at all. When you think about it, a president is merely a figurehead. Congress is in charge. The president just signs it at the end of the day.

...Obamacare doesn't take place until January 2014... premiums could not have increased...so the problem is in the Health insurance company that the "family" is in. If you really want to know what "Obamacare" is read the 900 page Affordable Care Act which you can find online. Then you can make the assumptions that those websites are claiming. The chip is false. Forgive me if I'm wrong since I'm not an American but I thought that the American government was a structure with three different parts, each of which act to restrict another. The President is the face of the government and doesn't have enough power to actually change anything. As long as there are corrupt people in the other parts nothing can really be changed.
