Thank you for posting this……I used to work for the Rank organisation, and when this film was being played at the Odeon in Sheffield ,the General manager opened the front doors of the theatre so that the sound blasted out….It was great….How I miss the days of cinema and live Theatre .
Thank very much. As a cinema projectionist I recorded the sound track of the film but it is lost in the mist of time now. Thanks again. Kind regards . . . Andy
wow been looking for this for years,i had the double cassette as a boy back in the early 80s and loved it,at last i can hear it again, thank you for sharing
Honest question! Did you idolize these people like I did back then? I was very fortunate to personally know a lot of these larger than life people in the 70's

I love this comment, I too began my literary journey at a young age. Still going strong but rely on these wonderful audio books mostly. A stroke4 yrs ago broke my concentration for reading the actual written word. This is my first Alistair Maclean and I think I’ve got a fab adventure in front of me. When I was 10 my life was pretty much bookwormy and I’ve tried to get my 4 grandchildren to “worm up” but not much luck. Having listened to this book and loved it, I’m going to try again with my loves 😍, as you said,’a great thriller’. I’ll try with my 17yr old first, he’s amenable to good vocabulary and I have an excellent relationship with him….. teens can be scary but I’m MEGA lucky with mine. But first I’ve got to find my 2nd A.M. book to listen to. Good wishes from Belfast NI.
For many years the entire audio book was uploaded. For years I would listen to it about once every three months. I stopped listening to it for a few years and now that I want to listen to the audio book it is abridged!
We used to listen to this when travelling on holiday ... all the way down France and back again

Ecstatic to find these Listen for Pleasure titles! I'm in the process of digitizing my own collection but you have several I don't own yet! Thank you
PAatrick Allen was a fine but under rated actor. He read this great action novel very well.
Great voice

Thank you for uploading this. I first read an Alastair Maclean novel “South by Java Head” when I was 10! Was hooked ever since, such great thrillers.
