They cannot be installed diagonally. In most cases, the scissor jacks are able to be uninstalled from the frame of the RV and reinstalled to run parallel with each other. You may have to use self tapping screws or a drill bit to create new mounting holes for the screws that secure the scissor jacks to the frame.
