admit it people, only Dinagyang can make the crowd this ecstatic. The shouts, chants and cheers even from those not from Iloilo are deafening. Only Dinagyang can bring out the excitement and thrill of being in a festival and no other festival can surpass the energy flowing out not only from the dancers but also from the spectators. ILOILO and DINAGYANG is indeed the PRIDE OF ALIWAN.
Nakawatched na rin ako ng Sinulog, Maskarra,Kadayawan,at Dinagyang. The Best talaga ang Dinagyang sa lahat hindi lang sa costumes kundi sa moves nila at sa story line at concept.
I can't forget this times., all our hardworks is worth it., it was 2016 today and almost 6 yrs. but still can't forget this experience of mine ., and really proud to be part of tribu paghidaet, thumbs up to sir huyated!!👍🏻

@jglaz184 sa Dinagyang mismo, no wind instrument allowed po. percussion instrument lahat. sa Aliwan lang nila ginamit yung Flute but sa Dinagyang Rules, all percussion instrument. not unless baguhin ng Dinagyang Committee ang Rules next year na pwede na gumamit ng wind instrument (that is, woodwind instrument lang and not brasswind).
after watching it a few more times, i realized na may dagdag na flute instrument sa music ng paghidaet. ang galing, tunog pilipino. nag-innovate talaga at hindi lang yung usual instruments ang ginamit nila. cant wait to see this live next year for the first time!

@pandogify ...yup..you were indeed right..some of lumad's dance routine were taken from one of Indonesia's tribe..and this was even noted by the judges..pero namangha ang mga hurado dahil maganda ang pagka-combine ng mga dance steps na ito sa kanilang dance routine...the collaboration of Indonesia's and Lumad's routine had gained the judges nod..

IN KASADYAHAN FESTIVAL four contingents opted to participate as non-competing namely the Masskara Festival of Bacolod City, Ati-Atihan of Aklan, Kahilwayan Festival of Sta. Barbara, Iloilo and St. Therese College based in this city. The Masskara Festival is a Bacolodnon’s way of expressing their gratefulness for all the abundant blessings that they received. The Ati-atihan on the other hand is dubbed as the mother of all festivals in the country.
The QUEEN FESTIVAL OF THE PHILIPPINES title has long been overdue. In fact, many other festivals have been claiming that title. Once and for all the title is finally bestowed to DINAGYANG FESTIVAL so that no other festival can claim it.

@starsclouds01 simple reason... the out-of-town contingents joining Sinulog is doing a routine that is very similar to what Cebuanos do.... Dinagyang is entirely different...
@kimsafina Iloilo and Dinagyang has been there even at the start of Aliwan and it has never failed to win be it as a runner-up or a champion. Iloilo contingents did not disappear even for a single year. To compete in Aliwan in by invitation only and with Iloilo sending more than 3 contingents in the past years, it simply mean that Aliwan loves Ilonggo festivals. This year was not an exemption, with many festivals backing out, Aliwan turned to Iloilo for an additional contingent
yun palang alam ko po, di pa kasi sure kung ibabalik ng aliwan yung 2 tribes per province na policy. pero invitational naman po ang aliwan, maybe mag iinvite cla para sa paraw regatta ng iloilo.

Dinagyang din my friend.. it is adored by many because of its authenticity, crativity, originality and skills... the crowd going in and out of aliw theater can attest to my claim. @aragonXYX ..i am very much proud of the Siloy's...they were a neophyte in competitons but they made it through with flying colors..but, I guess, you were happier than me for besting the elementary kids in Alcoy.
@kimsafina FYI too, the two year hiatus was not for CEBU and SINULOG but for Lumad Basakanon only. There was no mention that Sinulog backed out. For whatever reasons it is, the most obvious was there was no CEbuano contingent who won in Sinulog therefore they are not legible to represent CEbu.
@timlibunao....you got it misunderstood..we really do like to send a contingent this year but was really not allowed..we dont have a sinulog 2010 winner from other municipalities this year...with the exception of Silaw culture and arts from carcar...but they too are not suited to be sent off because when the troop joined the sinulog, they were not bringing the name of their very own festival, which is the Banig_Banig festival.

@johnzkie1000 ...elo there....iyang mga sinasabi mong contingents from sultan kudarat, maguindanao at south cotabato? they did compete in the Sinulog already...and I am so sad to say....they were not able to make it...

The QUEEN FESTIVAL OF THE PHILIPPINES title has long been overdue. In fact, many other festivals have been claiming that title. Once and for all the title is finally bestowed to DINAGYANG FESTIVAL so that no other festival can claim it.

@starsclouds01 simple reason... the out-of-town contingents joining Sinulog is doing a routine that is very similar to what Cebuanos do.... Dinagyang is entirely different...
@kimsafina Iloilo and Dinagyang has been there even at the start of Aliwan and it has never failed to win be it as a runner-up or a champion. Iloilo contingents did not disappear even for a single year. To compete in Aliwan in by invitation only and with Iloilo sending more than 3 contingents in the past years, it simply mean that Aliwan loves Ilonggo festivals. This year was not an exemption, with many festivals backing out, Aliwan turned to Iloilo for an additional contingent
yun palang alam ko po, di pa kasi sure kung ibabalik ng aliwan yung 2 tribes per province na policy. pero invitational naman po ang aliwan, maybe mag iinvite cla para sa paraw regatta ng iloilo.
DINAGYANG OF ILOILO IS THE BEST DINAGYANG FESTIVAL ALSO CONSIDERED THE BEST TOURIST EVENT OF THE PHLIS. SAN KPA?

the Sinulog website indicated that pinatados de Passi joined and won 2nd place last 2006 & 2007....

sa totoo lang, nakakasawa panoorin ang IBANG FESTIVAL na MUSIC/PROPS/ EVEN THE CHILD JESUS ang gamit just to represent their festival eh hindi naman talaga ganun yung festival nila sa province/town/city nila. THEY arre not REPRESENTING their province/town/city.

napanood ko cla sa dagupan last april 26......galing nila..ang story ay tungkol sa struggle at lifestyle ng mga negritos as a family na nabubuhay sa kakahuyan, panganagaso..pagtatanim..at pagdating ng poon ng sto nino sa kanilang buhay...from paagn worshiping to christianity....

Dinagyang din my friend.. it is adored by many because of its authenticity, crativity, originality and skills... the crowd going in and out of aliw theater can attest to my claim. @aragonXYX ..i am very much proud of the Siloy's...they were a neophyte in competitons but they made it through with flying colors..but, I guess, you were happier than me for besting the elementary kids in Alcoy.
@kimsafina FYI too, the two year hiatus was not for CEBU and SINULOG but for Lumad Basakanon only. There was no mention that Sinulog backed out. For whatever reasons it is, the most obvious was there was no CEbuano contingent who won in Sinulog therefore they are not legible to represent CEbu.
@timlibunao....you got it misunderstood..we really do like to send a contingent this year but was really not allowed..we dont have a sinulog 2010 winner from other municipalities this year...with the exception of Silaw culture and arts from carcar...but they too are not suited to be sent off because when the troop joined the sinulog, they were not bringing the name of their very own festival, which is the Banig_Banig festival.
