Dooo it!! You’ll absolutely love it if you like the animals, wilderness or dreamy white sand beaches further south ❤ I’ve been to quite a few places in SEA but this one feels extra special, maybe also because it still feels undiscovered by tourists, I couldn't recommend it more 😊✨
Now its monsoon raining season in Malaysia 🌧☔ Sabah is a gem 💎 in Malaysia🇲🇾, so many unique wildlife:Orang utan, Proboscis monkey, Pgymy elephants, tarsier etc. Did u visit Turtle island at Sandakan? Recommend if u love animal conservation 👌
It really is a gem ✨ beautiful country with many unique species of animals 🦧💛 I didn’t visit Turtle Island unfortunately but I will be staying by the Kinabatangan River to do a 3-Day river cruise, to see more animals in the wild, and later I'll be going to Semporna, Mabul, Sipadan, etc. to do some diving and explore the wonderful marine life of this region 🤿🐢😊
Heyy 😊 I’d say it’s relatively easy to get around, as you could get local buses to travel in between different cities. I suggest always reaching out to the homestays you plan to stay at beforehand so that they could hopefully help you organise transport to their place. As to safety, you have to be careful and very cautious in both Sandakan and Semporna. The lady who worked at my homestay in Sandakan would ask me not to leave to go anywhere in Sandakan by myself, she would always come with me or ask the taxi driver she knew to take me. Honestly, she would come with me even to the supermarket 3 minutes from the place. That was very surprising to me but she said Sandakan wasn’t safe, especially for solo female travellers (those were her opinions, not mine, but I of course decided to follow her advice and was very thankful for her help).
The centre rescues bears that lost their mothers either at birth or at a very young age, and the staff plays a parental role during their upbringing, I’ve been told by the staff who worked there that this is exactly what they do, since the bears don’t have a parental figure to look up to, to learn these things themselves.
Hi, I hope you are having a good time! I visited your TH-cam channel and I saw your video content is so good. Still, the problem is, that your video optimization section area is not perfectly up to date and SEO scores are very low. That's why your video does not reach out to the people. If you perfectly fix your issues and video promotion, you can get more video views and subscribers daily. Can I suggest growing your channel?
Do not visit borneo end of the year. It is monsoon. You can watch karl watson who visited in april 2023. He saw many animals including whale shark. We never feed the whale shark unlike in cebu oslob. Natural migration.
Glad to hear about no whale shark feeding, I've been to Oslob but I didn't enjoy the experience, animals should be left in their natural habitat, unless it's not possible of course, like it's not with those in the rescue centre
@OlaLily generally, there are a few spots for whale sharks in malaysia during migration. At sabah waters example sipadan, gaya. At tenggol island(peninsula) towards gulf of Thailand. Oslob is now a chicken and egg problem. If you let the 3 creatures leave for natural migration. No more tourism, then the fishermen will start killing or hunting them. So they said to everyone. It maybe a lie to justify the practice. Fishermen in south east asia hunt fish and crab. Unlike the japanese who hunt whales using huge vessels. Also, the philippines government can train them for other task if they do not want to go out fishing example as tour guide on land.
Going to SE Asia and hoping I can sneak in a week or 2 in Borneo, also as a solo female, thanks for sharing ❤️✨ beautiful!

You should bring short umbrella when you visit Malaysia because it can rain anytime or the sun will get too hot.

Hi ola, my best friend want to travel on our own or like a hire a local guide. Is it easy to get around? Is it safe?

Human don’t teach bears to climb trees. Bears learn climbing by themselves.
