    This stuff is easy, BUT hard to implement and requires patience. I say this as a reminder to myself as much as the community. We are running on false information as well as subconscious fears and worries. I fail to change my story consistently, it's so easy to fall into the "what if" story mode. One thing I try is imagining certain activities or situations which I find fearful or symptom inducing and picture those with the outcome I want.

    When talking my brain down from hypervigiliance I also ask for a comfortable, easy, pleasureable body, and a good night's sleep. When I ask it to tone down the false alarms I ask it to do it so that we can both have an easier and more enjoyable life together.

    Definitely! This morning I also had the experience of being driven by feelings to come up with stories, versus fully feeling the feelings. And by the way, that yellow plant is called a forsythia.

    This has been the game changer for me. I think that a lot of us with mind body symptoms are not used to giving ourselves any authority over anything. It took years for it even to occur to me that I could choose a different story. And it has been the single most effective strategy for me. It can feel so hard to believe in recovery before you actually feel it, but it had to happen that way round for me! It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

  • @Inge508

    Great motivational video Dan thanks!
    Since following you I started to change my personal story.
    I can’t rewrite the facts that have happened in the past but I can reframe them as growth experiences.
    They made me resilient enough to know that I can deal with whatever life throws at me.
    My symptoms are still wild but that’s the only story I no longer involve in.
    I create safety in my current behaviors,thoughts and experiences and by doing that I know that my pain- story will fade away.
    Trees are blossoming so nicely these days,just like we all will blossom into a new future..
    Telling myself a spring- blossom - story, yess that’s a great idea!
    Have a lovely day Dan and everyone ❤

    It always takes a thought, an idea before something becomes reality. There is no chair in the world that was not an idea before. Ideas, Stories, mindset first, always!!!
    Interestingly self-running stories in me quite often are kind of horror stories and I forget my ability to chose other "channels" with life supporting content.
    Thank you Dan for the reminder! ❤

    I had a setback recently due to hormonal fluctuations. It took me a while to realise that I was telling myself the story that the setback was permanent and all my work had been for nothing. Then I realised that story isn't even true - I knew why I had felt bad for those few days, it was hormonal. I had stretched out that setback over 2 weeks because of the story I was telling myself. Once I realised where I was going wrong and changed the story, I was okay again

    4:00 The RAS. Oh yeah! Have you read The Green Platform by Declan Coyle? He talks about it in his book. The RAS will filter out sense perception that doesn't match the subconscious beliefs. Telling stories helps to reinforce those beliefs.

    Please tell us hostory about REACTIVE TINNITUS, thank you!

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not an expert in that topic to shoot a video on it. However, I do believe that all tinnitus is created by a brain perceiving danger. Reactive tinnitus is just a more extreme version. That said, the solution is still the same. KNOW you are not broken or sick. It is not a disease. The noises are a false alarm, but there is no damage to the body.
      In order to turn down the noise, we need to accept that nothing harmful is happening to the body and begin to TEACH the brain to turn off the false alarms. My fast start playlist explains.

    Ok here’s my situation today. I have an appointment with a new primary care physician because my old one is gone. How do I not bring up my INTENSE 3 year pelvic pain (that I am now working on with TMS principles) when I desperately want and need help? I just started seriously believing it’s likely TMS about a month ago. This is a serious test. 😢

      @@TheLilja9 I’m going for a regular check up to get blood pressure checked etc I’m 54. but I’m struggling with wanting to bring up the intense knife life pain in my pelvic area that has been there for almost 3 years. I’m not in a great place emotionally and many days don’t want to live - not in constant pain I am just starting out in my Tms journey so I am sure I’m not 100% convinced. I’m trying the best I can.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It is very unlikely a primary care doctor will have much to offer other than pain meds or a referral. If you want to be certain about the cause of your pain, do the FIT assessment here: IsThisTMS.com - if it indicates TMS, then that's what it is. Do your standard checkup with your doctor. But try not to get pulled into a whole bunch of appointments, treatments and specialists or medications. You've done that already and it hasn't worked. Stay committed to TMS and the approach taught on this channel daily.

      Of course you inform your new doctor about your chronic pain. And then you tell him that you will heal from that with a mindbody approach.. honestly my doctor was relieved that he didn’t need to bother about the chronic stuff anymore. Now he encourages me to heal without meds and fixing strategies.He just listens and reassures if necessary.
      And when I’m better, he wants me to help him with other chronic pain patients too.
      Wishing you well ❤
