- XUS575S is an Alexander bodied Leyland Atlantean which was new in 1977 to Greater Glasgow PTE. A thorough restoration has been carried out of this vehicle by members of the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust where it now looks resplendent in the livery of Strathclyde's Buses, a post deregulation formation from Greater Glasgow PTE.
Join me onboard as we ride from the seafront at Whitehaven to the former Leyland Bus factory site in Workington; a service that is provided as part of the Leyland National 51 event held on the weekend of 29/30 April 2023.

Those Rear Quarter Inside Lock Catches Remember Braking Towards A Bus Stop Before Partick Cross And In My Nearside Mirror I Could See The Nearside Brake And Indicator As The Corner Detached Itself And Swung Round
Im training to be a Bus Driver with First Glasgow and id love to have a go on one of these. brings back memories from my childhood.
Best of luck with the training. These Atlanteans are a far cry from the buses of today 😢
@@SirAdamUK Thank you sir i actually passed my test on thursday on a Wright Eclipse/ Volvo B7RLE and i totally agree that modern buses are a far cry from todays, even the newer ADL BYD Enviro EVs are a major departure from the old Diesel engined ones
@@Graeme-CCongratulations! Now the next stage of learning - all the routes and dealing with the punters 🤪
Long time since l ve saw that bus.
Спасибо за то, что я прокатился на автобусе с этим прекрасным зелёным салоном!😊
Когда вы ехали по территории складов мне в голову пришла ассоциация с передачей Гран Тур и их испытательным полигоном😅
In An Ideal World Great Box To Use But Schedules Department Would Have You Straight Through Changing With A Smell Of Urine Coming From The Nearside Front Brake Drum Just To Keep It On Time
I bet the bus factory and the bus itself are now crying when they meet each other for the first time after they haven't seen each other for a long time
Q : Any articulated buses in jolly old England ?
They seem to be less common than they used to be. I can't think off the top of my head which operators still use them, if any.
Мне так же было приятно увидеть на улице несколько классических автобусов, но к сожалению в вашем видео я увидел велосипедиста😂
Alexander have always built good looking buses for me. But, it sounds quiet for an Atlantean though
I've certainly heard more raucous Atlanteans than this but it didn't detract from such a nicely restored bus.
@@SirAdamUK when it's back on the road. You need to hear our GM Atlantean.
@@SirAdamUK this is one of our Atlanteans. The last GM built machine th-cam.com/video/U1ChqMFdPOU/w-d-xo.html
That's lovely! I suspect it'll be down to the difference in exhaust system
@@SirAdamUK maybe. You've seen that one before. We brought it to Heath Common the year of the 110 anniversary
(reversing alarm with vibratey farty noises) lol
All That Distance Listening To Front Damper Suspension Knock That The Difference Between Being In Service And Playing With Buses No Way I Would Do A Shift Subjected To That 5Hrs On The 20
Why Do You Capitalise Every Single Word? It’s Not Necessary And Looks Stupid!
Single door. Not interested.
Why watch it then?
Single door or dual door, it still sounds the same
Not the prolonged idling due to excessive dwell times at stops.
The euros know where it's at with three door buses with all door boarding.
