I’m so thankful to John for saving my next 10+ years for this ‘second correction’! I could not stop learning this prayer for years since I’ve read RC Sproul book about it. Now other man of God catapulted me even higher. Thank you!

Thank you for your great insights!
Perhaps you have also noticed the order of the prayer in relation to what come before what:
    your name
    your kingdom
    your will
    our daily bread
    our debts
    our debtors
    And the requests:
    give us
    forgive us
    lead us
    deliver us

It is also able to be seen as a soft command to myself to act consistent with what I just told God I wanted to see occur. It's like this: I want the kingdom of God to come, so I pray, God, let it occur, to which I hear God say, Yes! By all means! Do something for me to bless! LOL (I just thought that idea might bless you, as your idea inspired it!)

Thank you John for your exegesis of the Lord's Prayer. So many issues is so few words! I would like like to draw attention to forgiveness. "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us" To forgive is Divine, and we are called to participate in the Divine by forgiving. I trust you are well and happy 5 years on from producing this You Tube!

I had to pause it a 2nd time to comment! Great video!
Your division into 3 and 3, and the last being maybe two, if we get picky.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, are so connected, they act as one, but are different enough to act as two. You know what came to mind? Proverbs, where God says things like there are six things, yeah seven! He does it with other quantities, too. But, there is value in it being a 6 yeah 7 kind of thing, don't you think?
