if i was there back in 2008 when i was around their age, i would have been terrified of the Cybermen marching in. There was always a part of my childhood brain that believed they were real.
I once went to a doctor who show and it was just like this where monsters went through the crowd and it was all fun and games until the doctor said “ remember...... don’t blink” I went from sitting on the isle seat to right by my dad in less than a second Miss those days of doctor who
I was so lucky to have attended this concert and the one in the anniversary year - 2013. I can’t tell you just how phenomenal these were - the children were just in awe and the whole day was just fantastic. This video is only about 1/2 the show though.
Am I the only one who always gets shivers when Gallifrey our home plays? It doesn't matter the temperature it always gives me shivers and makes me smile.
I've watched this show for I can't count how many years I'm 65 now so I've seen it since it came out still love it rich said give it a little bit more of a Christian view but it's still wonderful
These are so goddamn fantastic. So much creativity, time, planning, effort, resources...all of it for a single two hour show in front of thousands. It's like seeing your favorite play each night over and over again. There is almost literally nothing that can overshadow these or meet their standards. Say what you will about what direction the show goes in each season; the Proms makes it all worth the wait.
It's all so professional and from the heart... I really miss the RTD era when the most important elements in the show were relationships. All the companions' stories - they are still resonating with me. And that's the most amazing about Doctor Who
+Matty Hopley I am the Doctor, The Mad Man with a Box, The Majestic Tale, The Long Song, Infinite Potential, A Good Man?, The Sad Man with a Box, Clara, The Name of the Doctor
it’s so crazy to grow up in an era where doctor who (especially one as legendary as tennant’s) was celebrated and embraced by the British public so much and lots of people actually were united with the love of a show and it’s characters. i miss it sm 🥺
I love how lighthearted this is because of the kids XD Then you go and watch something heavy like The Waters of Mars and David as Ten be like "I'm the winner" etc XD
I can't begin to say how much I miss the beautiful music from this amazing composer! After having finished with season 11, unfortunately, I am unable to remember any music; good, bad or indifferent. That's a shame. The music is as much an integral part of this iconic show as any character.
This was a very good thing to introduce the young ones to. Classical music really opens up your mind at an early age so it makes me happy to see so many parents take their kids in for an unforgettable journey through music. As a newcomer to "New WHO" as it's called from Eccleston's tenure and to the end of Tennant's run, this is magical and no matter what anyone says I am gonna keep on going. This series has a certain magic to it that no fantasy series can really match up to.
That special message from "the 10th" was absolutely wonderful. (19:50). I think, I KNOW, that he touched every single heart in the Royal Albert Hall with his brilliant sincerity. // I, for one, was deeply moved.
One of the best things about doctor who is the fact the majority of monsters and aliens are practical so we can have them show up at concerts like these
I agree, but if they didn't; we wouldn't have had catherine tate, freema, karen, jenna or pearl. Or Matt Smith, or Peter Capaldi! And we wouldn't be without any of them, would we?
Miss out Peter Capaldi and I'm with you. jtryland101. I think Peter is ready to go because he is not a very good Doctor. David and Matt had it all, Rest in peace 11 & 10 Doctor.
since I haven't seen much of Capaldi I will reserve judgement but maybe he's a return to the old school WHO if you will !! i find he sort of reminds me of PERTWEE DR .# 3 but yes SMITH and Tennant definitely brought in the new era and a legion of female fans YUM! [alright that was bad!!] but each doctor had their time !!
I agree, those were the best times. 10th is the best doctor, he feels like "the real doctor" and the others are just actors pretending to be him. also I love rose!!!. martha was "meh", and I HATE DONNA!!.
kainthevampireduck Really? So the first 9 actors are just "playing him". Really?! Also, the 4th, 3rd, and many other the Doctors were just s good as Tennant's if not better. 11th was also a pretty good Doctor. Saying David Tennant is the real Doctor is like saying Rose is the real companiob, qhen there have been multiple better ones. I liked 10th, but he is not the best Doctor at all.
+Caitlin Daniels Called Journey's End on the soundtrack CD but I agree - especially with seeing the whole of the Tardis crew there and especially to see Liz Sladen having one large hoorah in the TARDIS.
Thank you so much i don't know who you are but i love you so much because you took lots of my suffering into happiness you made me happy and i met Peter capaldi but David tenant is the best, God bless you DOCTOR 🤗💘
And THIS is what I mean when I say Doctor Who isn't just a show for a lot of people. Myself included. It makes you feel things, makes you feel less alone and like being a bit nerdy is OK because The Doctor said it was. I think we'll all secretly be waiting for the Tardis to appear for us one day 💙 Also while some of the new stuff is fine, it sorely lacks that special something that it had when Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant where The Doctor

Thank you so much for listing each song and time stamping them. Really helped.
I dont know why but I always stare at the Tardis and hope the Doctor is gonna come out.
Hextai Heaven don't worry I do the same every time I watch this
Same
I did too
👏👏👏😍😍😍
Waiting for an amazing travel...
Excuse me how was this ELEVEN YEARS AGO. Seriously? What??
Time travel
Lol and shut up
My most best doctor who sound track is the 3rd doctor who sound track
16 now🤯
I miss this music and these monsters and this Doctor. So much. It’s genuinely beautiful.
Emilia Robson I just started watching, and I wish I could’ve seen it all unfold during Tennant’s run. I love his version of the Doctor so much.
I would sell my soul to have been there
Bit gay
@@Callum_2613 like you n the drama gays ;)
Emilia Robson shut it posho
To think this was 10 years ago...
Now it is 11 years ago...
I have listed all songs
11 now
11 now
Gonna come back in a year to write that it’s 12 then
Barely a minute in and I already have chills
PROzDAZA i cried after two
Me too !!!
So the 10th Doctor theme at 0:01 got you chills?
Some of the kids look terrified lol
if i was there back in 2008 when i was around their age, i would have been terrified of the Cybermen marching in. There was always a part of my childhood brain that believed they were real.

I went from sitting on the isle seat to right by my dad in less than a second
Miss those days of doctor who
That's the point Sargent
I'm.17 I'm still terrified 😂😂😂
I'm in my forties and I'd still be a little uneasy facing a Cyberman or Dalek... but really scared if anyone would say "Don't blink."
cyber men episodes from this era were SOOO good wish there were more
yesssss
Cyanide Does Hybrid Yep and i wanted soo much more Tennant!
Yeah, definitely. Rise of the cybermen and age of steel are great. Can't say the same for the newer ones, although world enough and time was okay.
Nowadays we hardly ever see Daleks or Cybermen.. i love the david tennant ones he is the best
Greavesy world enough and time WAS NOT okay. It was incredible. One of the best episodes easily.
I was so lucky to have attended this concert and the one in the anniversary year - 2013. I can’t tell you just how phenomenal these were - the children were just in awe and the whole day was just fantastic. This video is only about 1/2 the show though.
I was one of those children, it's my favourite memory from early childhood
you are so lucky
I was at the 2008, 2010 and 2013 concerts - truly precious memories from half a lifetime ago now!
I WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE . WHAT AN AMAZING NIGHT THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN .
Am I the only one who always gets shivers when Gallifrey our home plays? It doesn't matter the temperature it always gives me shivers and makes me smile.
Who else closed their eyes when David Said so
Also is it me or has doomsday become the sad music for doctor who now
oh 100%. They used it in Twice Upon A Time for the first doctor, and i was not prepared
Well.. to me 'The rueful fate of Donna Noble' is worse for me somehow (or at least one of songs accompied with Donna's final scenes).
Sign of the times buddy we are living in the last days
I've watched this show for I can't count how many years I'm 65 now so I've seen it since it came out still love it rich said give it a little bit more of a Christian view but it's still wonderful
Lovely pun. Wish I had thought of it.
41:32 - This Is Gallifrey - Our Childhood Our Home
I love the doctor who proms its what makes doctor who come alive for everyone
This kind of music is what modern Doctor Who sorely lacks. Among a lot of other things
ahhhhhh the music yes 😭
It lacks everything else
If they did a Doctor Who prom today it would just be some guy falling asleep on his synthesiser keyboard
lacks good actors, good writing oh and also lacks the whole point of the show due to chris chibnall
@@61okj I hate what it is now

They should've played The Master's drums.
They did
If you think about it, the drum beat is in the Doctor Who intro itself. The music has got that four-drum beat
The heartbeat of a time lord
Around 16:40 the masters drums are incorporated.
It's all so professional and from the heart... I really miss the RTD era when the most important elements in the show were relationships. All the companions' stories - they are still resonating with me. And that's the most amazing about Doctor Who
26:26 never knew daleks were such thugs. rolls in there like "MOVE"
garlic?
fuckin typos man, get me every time. i hadn't a clue what you meant till i read over it again
Behave your self
I miss the RTD era soundtracks
The Impossible Girl?
I mean, there is "I am the Doctor" which is probably the most recognizable Doctor Who theme since well, the actual opening titles theme.
+Matthew Hopley Then you haven't been paying enough attention lol.
Both eras had fuckin brilliant music!
Even when the writing fails Murray Gold music hasn't dropped in quality.
+Matty Hopley I am the Doctor, The Mad Man with a Box, The Majestic Tale, The Long Song, Infinite Potential, A Good Man?, The Sad Man with a Box, Clara, The Name of the Doctor
This also makes me miss the RTD era so much, I wish he just stayed on just a bit longer (and Tennant) :(
doomsday had me like "ROSE. NOOOOO"
it’s so crazy to grow up in an era where doctor who (especially one as legendary as tennant’s) was celebrated and embraced by the British public so much and lots of people actually were united with the love of a show and it’s characters. i miss it sm 🥺
I love who ever edited the clips at 16:44 it syncs so well with the music and just made me laugh
LucyMcG hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Lol
Oh yeah.
😆
"WOT" do you meen
Omg when I read this comment and clicked on the time that is not what I was expecting 😂😂😂
People will still be watching Doctor Who in a 1000 years. Its iconic.
So true ❣❣
how bad ass that would have been to have been there. I'm getting goose bumps just watching the video.
I cried like such a baby through all.of this and still am now I miss David and his companions + his lover Rose so so so much but this was brilliant
25:29 i just bursted into tears that was beautiful :)
I love how lighthearted this is because of the kids XD
Then you go and watch something heavy like The Waters of Mars and David as Ten be like "I'm the winner" etc XD
Tom Middleton Timelord Victorious still terrifies me to this day.
the kids look terrified 😂😂😂
"WOT" nah I know wat you meen
WAS DOOMSDAY REALLY NECESSARY???!!!!
Quite agree, did they really have to rip out hearts out by the end?
Sheilagh Noonan f
Sheilagh Noonan yes
😢😢😢😢😢
What part was that in the video
I can't begin to say how much I miss the beautiful music from this amazing composer! After having finished with season 11, unfortunately, I am unable to remember any music; good, bad or indifferent. That's a shame. The music is as much an integral part of this iconic show as any character.
is the woman at the beginning the original singer she sounds perfect
Melanie Pappenheim
did anyone ekse cry during rose's theme?
Yes
Moisturize Me yes and tbh it looked like some of the audience did
Moisturize Me yes
Me too
Did anyone NOT cry?! "Not a dry eye in the house" ) I start to weep hysterically each time from the very first soubds of it.

Absolute joy. Those first four years of the show's revival were truly magical.
The last two years, not so much
I love the freedom song! Rip Elizabeth Sladen!
You know, you would think that the weeping angels scared me the most, nope. the cybermen. they scare me the most on this show.
Bean-s world enough and time and spare parts make them even more scary
Seriously Same... i just thought: Glad I m Not one of Those Kids
One of the best things about doctor who is the fact the majority of monsters and aliens are practical so we can have them show up at concerts like these
20:10 (hah, "10") is when David Tennet 'shows up'.
doctor who forever
I love David Tennant and Billie Piper, such a shame that they change them, :(
I agree, but if they didn't; we wouldn't have had catherine tate, freema, karen, jenna or pearl. Or Matt Smith, or Peter Capaldi! And we wouldn't be without any of them, would we?

i love doctor who, im just sad all the actors had to leave ;-;
They need an episode where all the companions from all the doctors save the doctor!
Their song ended, but the story never ends...
Blackblood 909 that would be hard as like 4-5 of them are dead and a lot have them have got old or changed
Tom Moreau he said from all the doctors. That’s just the companions from RTD’s run. Don’t act so smart saying ‘look it up’ shut up man
I'm literally crying! I missed this Davros and THIS Doctor
Queen Nefi it’s the same davros as the one from series 9
"ALL HAIL DAVROS!"
"BOOOOOOO! BOOOOOOOOOO!"
BrinaFlautist I was laughing my ass of at that point
i like rose she is the best dr.who companion ever tied with k-9
Mangavers E david and rose will always be the best
Rose"s mother was mistaken for Rose for just a few minutes. I loved that bit of humour.
OMG I´m crying!!! It´s so beautiful!!!
I just realized how many people have kissed 10.... XDDDDDD
its an old concert but roses theme the battle of canary wharf omg i still cry
tearssss
Whoever decided to let Murray Gold compose the Doctor Who music: DID THE RIGHT THING!
Gosh, Tennant was SOOO awesome
watching the video with moving earth back? I got shivers.
+Caitlin Daniels Called Journey's End on the soundtrack CD but I agree - especially with seeing the whole of the Tardis crew there and especially to see Liz Sladen having one large hoorah in the TARDIS.
I'm glad she got the be in Matt Smith's TARDIS at least once.
timrob12 when?
Absolutely brilliant performance!!
Very Lovely.... Music Brought Tears To My Eyes....
God, these hit me like a brick, I'd loved to have played some of the beautiful piano melodies.
When the crowd started to clap along to Song of Freedom? OOF
*chills*
I would like to meet all the Monsters and Aliens. I am a big fan of Doctor Who. I love David Tennant.
I do too. I love David Tennant and I am a huge fan of doctor who.
I miss Murray Gold already. A minute in and I have goosebumps.
12 years now doctor who I’ve been watching since I was 6 back in 2005 when it was revived I love you Christoper, David, Matt, Peter and the new doctor
Wish they could do another performance of this as a bit of a throwback for the fans
I unfortunately doubt it as they like to focus on the current series which has next to no music the proms could play
@@williamg209two Tbh I couldn't just sit there and listen to the music played in Jodie's era.
Simply great music. I love it.
Thank you so much i don't know who you are but i love you so much because you took lots of my suffering into happiness you made me happy and i met Peter capaldi but David tenant is the best, God bless you DOCTOR 🤗💘
The live rendition of This Is Gallifrey is killer
'The Doctor Forever' is such a beautiful piece, damn. All those songs are wonderful and packed with emotion
I like all of the dr who music by nothing can touch the original 1963 still sends chives down my spine still remember watching it 👍👍🕷
the music from doctor who will always give me chills. i cannot listen to song of freedom without getting goosebumps. such beautiful music
And THIS is what I mean when I say Doctor Who isn't just a show for a lot of people. Myself included. It makes you feel things, makes you feel less alone and like being a bit nerdy is OK because The Doctor said it was. I think we'll all secretly be waiting for the Tardis to appear for us one day 💙
Also while some of the new stuff is fine, it sorely lacks that special something that it had when Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant where The Doctor
that sound makes me cry every single time.
We need to Celebrate the Doctor and the show now, just as these people did 11 years ago.Every Whovian needs to watch this and Rejoice in our show.
38:47 Thought my headphones broke lol.
Levels of energy that were put into this is.. Breathtaking.
The music is fantastic 😍😍
Where is he now when we need him most
This was new who at its height gaining a massive audience and becoming a part of British culture and even gaining audiences in different countries. These were the simpler times when Russel T Davies was just perfecting doctor who creating perfect stories and new villains and monsters. I might sound like a boomer but we can all agree that we miss this short lived period of when new who was amazing
This is a truly magical hour, I bet every one of those kids can still remember this.
I will never forget that day I was there :)
