If you want more combos with this weapon, try using Fire Serpent and/or O' Flame with these then heavy atk with AoW active. Fire Serpent for when you initiate the chase, and O' Flame when they're chasing you down.
Does Shard of Alexander work with that weapon skill? I've read that the 2 Handed Sword talisman affects every 2H attack except skills, so I wonder if you're getting the most out of both talismans. If they are stacking that's sick.
Bigger splash damage hitbox. Direct hits do double damage. Only strong attacks trigger explosion and lose buff. Normal attacks get damage buffed for multiple hits. better than RKR in every way

power stanced / dual weilded serpent flails also trigger the explosion

The alexander shard gives you a bigger weapon buff. I tested it
Definite boomstick. Could wild strikes be useful on that?
You can't change the ash of war on this flail. But wild strikes is quite useful on normal flails.
