    Founded by husband and wife Joseph and Jean Marcellino, Marcellino New York makes high-quality leather bags. Joe started the company after he grew tired of working in restaurants. Since then, it has evolved into a full-time business, however sales are still struggling.
    Tilman arrives at Marcellino New Yorks’s headquarters and finds it is Joe’s house. Tilman makes it clear that he hates going to other people’s homes for business. Meeting Joe in his basement, Tilman feels he is in a combination of a workshop and the lost & found room at an airport. Tilman likes the quality of Joe’s work, but feels that this is a hobby, not a business. Joe points out that he made $70k last year. Tilman is then surprised to learn that Joe retails his leather handbags for $700. While a brand name could justify this cost, Tilman doesn’t think Marcellino New York is established enough to demand that amount.
    Tilman understands why Joe is charging such a high amount, but he stresses that Joe needs to figure out a way to bring his production costs down in order for his business to grow. Tilman suggests that Joe needs to focus on one type of product - with the hope that this specialization will bring down production expenses.
    Tilman knows that Joe produces quality goods and wants to see if his customers will be interested. To do this, he has Joe set up a pop-up booth at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City.
    When approached by a customer about the price of a bag, Joe doesn’t have a price in mind and struggles to negotiate with the customer. Tilman witnesses this and is upset that Joe is acting as if he is in a flea market. Jean and Tilman want Joe to sell his bags but he is reluctant to part with his samples, and compares them to “his babies.” Tilman explains that this is merchandise and that it needs to be sold.
    Tilman is disappointed that Joe failed to sell any of his products however he could tell customers liked the bags. Tilman decides to give Joe another chance. He wants him to create a line of women’s bags exclusive to the Golden Nugget that Tilman can purchase for no more than $200 each.
    To help Marcellino New York with sales, Tilman introduces Joe to Brand Fire - a brand consulting agency. They provide feedback on their website and provide a proposal for a new website. When Joe is told Brand Fire starts at $100k, he is taken aback because he can’t afford it. Tilman surprises Joe and Jean by letting them know he will be cover the cost of their new website.
    Meeting with Joe and Jean Marcellino in the boardroom, Joe explains he was able to bring the price down to $200 per bag. Tilman is immediately impressed by the quality of Joe’s revised bags. Wanting to learn how he brought the price down, Joe explains that instead of cutting out each individual piece of leather he learned to fold a larger piece of leather in such a way that he can just stitch it into its final shape. Examining the other bags, Tilman is impressed by how far Joe has come.
    Asking about their bid, Tilman learns that they want to sell him 350 bags for an average of $200 per bag. This would add up to $70k. Tilman feels 350 bags isn’t a large enough order and he will need to order 700 bags for $140k. It is a deal that Jean and Joe agree to immediately and it is a deal that will also allow Marcellino to hopefully become a household name.
