심판들 점수가 너무 박하다. 기술 점수 90점 대나 나와야 130점 대가 가능한 것이더냐!

I’m so happy for the 3A which was beautiful, but please, stop with black swans and fantôme de l’opéras, there are other beautiful classical pieces out there instead of used and re-used musics…
Korean skating really needs to improve artistically speaking (that’s why they are still behind the Japanese). Not that these skaters aren’t talented of course, but these programs are a disservice to their talent. It’s so much more difficult to inspire personality and soul in a piece that pretty much everyone already skated to (and better). Music, costumes, they have to stand out. Their skating is too conventional. Beautiful most of the time, but too conventional. It lacks of something.
They are on the right path since they began to train triple axels and quads, but they really need to innovate artistically.

      Innovate artistically? Sure ofcourse.
They should definitely start jumping around like a newborn giraffe and stop doing step sequences with deep edges 👍

@@mindy3918 Innovate artistically, do you even know what that mean ?? It means choosing better pieces first, stopping with the recycled classical remixes everyone has used and reused over the years. It means going for more unique music choices, bolder musics that really reflect yourself and allow your personality to show on the ice. "Jumping around" is already what a lot of skaters do with classical/lyrical soulless pieces (because what else can they do with it that hasn't been done before?).
You want an example of what a great program is with great choreo and foot work ? Leandra Tzimpoukakis's Beyonce SP, Ikura Kushida's Mucho Mambo SP, Hana Yoshida's FP this season and the season before, Kaori Sakamoto's Elastic Heart FS, Minsol's Cats FS, Stefania Gladki's Moulin Rouge FS, and I could go on like this forever.
So I don't even see the meaning in your comment in the first place. Since when choosing original pieces of music automatically decreases your skating skills ?? 🤣 And it's fun, because the skaters I can think of who have the best skating skills also are the ones with the most unique programs 😬
That's why the Japanese ladies for example are waaaay ahead of the Koreans.
Basically the recipe for a Korean program is the following : choose the most soulless and mainstream musical piece - ideally Black Swan, Danse macabre, or any Einaudi piece; add the most passepartout and basic choreography ; and combine it with the perfect neutral costume - beautiful, even though the excessive amount of sequins and rhinestones makes it look like an unicorn threw up on it- even if it doesn't have any utility or link with the music. Korean skaters could swap their programs between each other and no one would see the difference, because they're all the same, and most of the time, they're off the mark. Damn I can remember Young You's skating to Les Misérables (the piece itself being used so many times), wearing a bright pink/violet dress overflowing with diamonds (Les Misérables being a story about a poor girl being enslaved by her tutors, characterized by the fact she wears RAGS).
It doesn't mean that you can't use classical pieces. I'd love seeing someone skate on Wienawski or Sarasate, as long as they do it well, with unique choreo and costuming. But using Black swan again and again just make the programs look worse each year. If you don't take technical risks, at least take them on the artistic side. I'm not blaming it on the skaters, they can do nothing about it. I blame it on the Korean federation and their coaches, who can't give their athletes decent programs to work with (this, and being like the archaic country they work for, deprive their talented skaters of a career for stupid reasons- hey Hein, Young and Minsol- even if that's another debate).
I'd really like Korean skating to stand out, because their skaters REALLY deserve it. But those programs don't do justice to them.
