I figure this is the smartest trap by far. Compared to all other commercial contraptions out there it is substantially less expensive; lightweight; easy to transport; easy to set up quickly and single-handedly; doesn't require camera surveillance or manual activation, and is therefore independent of cell phone networks; allows hogs to enter continuously; and keeps 'm in. In short: it works! Brilliant concept.

That's correct. You don't even have to trigger the trap - they keep coming in. Last week, we had up to 45 pigs in a single trap, just waiting until someone showed up.

No doubt. You don't have to wake up in the middle of the night and need to rely on a good cellular connection to drop the trap. With this one once they enter they're already trapped.
I have been watching hog trapping from TH-cam for years. And this is one of the most economically way and the best way to catch these destructive wild hogs. Simply genius!
This trap uses the same type of thinking that the inventor of the minnow trap used. Easy to get into but nearly impossible to escape. What a great idea, and the netting simulates the thick underbrush of the wild so the hogs are not spooked by it like they are with the wire fence traps. Check it every morning, cull the sounder, spread more corn. Repeat! Excellent.

No need for a truck and equipment to set up the heavy steel fencing most drop traps use. Waaaaay cheaper too. This could revolutionize pig trapping in the areas they are an issue.

Not quite as entertaining as the trap door. There's nothing more dramatic than the resulting hognado when it drops, but yeah this one seems to get it done with lower cost and labor.
Using their strong natural instinct to root against them, more they push the safer they feel ..Also the net being flexible keeps a natural undergrowth vibe intact which doesn't spook them...
It's usually the simplest solutions that tend to work best in life, and this trap is an example of that. What's really ingenious about it, is that it uses the pigs natural tendency to root as a means to trap them. They feel comfortable going in, and then don't have the same process to get out.

This looks superior to the Jager pro system. As long as the net holds up until the operator wakes up. It will be an interesting research how an escapee will educate other pigs and learn to avoid it.

I begun watching boar traps 4 days ago. I've been thinking there must be a way to trap them as lobster traps - one way ticket :) And there it is . You should name this trap the ONE-WAY-TICKET . Brilliant , cheap, most effective , and requires no attention . No panic mode , they all stay calm . The ones outside end up joining because no GATE drop. Retrieving them alive is tricky, but can be done. You can also roll it and tuck it away easily in a small shack.
This trap works very effectively. The mesh trap model is suitable to be used as a trap door on other types of traps that already exist. we can even make a very wide trap (50x50 yards) and only use this trap for the trap door on both sides of the fence.
There used to be a video where they used 2 Pig Brigs to make one big trap in a forest, using trees in place of the posts. It got the poster banned from TH-cam because it included the slaughter using high powered rifles. Even in the forest shadows, seeing brain, blood, and chunks of skull go flying was a bit much in color at 1080P on a 42 inch screen. Even so, it took 3 or 4 runs to catch most of the detail.
These numbers are very promising... it was so swift, and because it’s fabric, they underestimate its strength. To them it’s just a regular break and enter until it comes time to leave. But safety in numbers means that the whole group ends up in it, and the trap was sprung silently long before their approach
About $2200 each. Why wouldn't Farmers / Hog Control buy hundreds of these traps and share / reuse them ? The damage they cause is so much more expensive. The Hog meat is also a commodity too right ? What are the weaknesses of this type of trap ?

Possible having the in too long andbthey can chew thru. Or rip the net if used over a period of time. But i don't see any "design" flaws. This system works and doesn't spook the pigs, the original small group caught the attention of the bigger group and acted as a lure. If this has been a Jager trap the bigger group would not have been able to enter after the gates have been closed and doesn't all of for fearful escapes. If one does get loose while another comes in it's not a fearful experience and is likely going to be caight again in a few minutes when it tries to get back to the food. This is a great way to eliminate trap shyness and catching the whole family group. Also makes the system more available to smaller budgets as not everyone can afford the Jager system or can't due to cell service issues. This elimates having to wait for the ENTIRE group to enter before springing the trap, and catches even the weary ones as there is never any fear from the group. Thus luring in even the most weary. Love this trap and I hope that it becomes more widely available
Clean out time. That's gonna get hectic, big pressures on the design. Shooting will damage the net. Poison ruin the meat. Unless there is a run and a gate to load a trailer which the camera didn't show...
Omg I need this net on my property ASAP!! I have at least a group of 25 hogs. I’m extremely worried my husband takes shots he has invited co-workers to even come and have at them. There’s nothing like this in North Texas I’m on 15 acres and they run it at night. They’re super hogs!!!
when or if hogs are shot in that circle of ground, can same spot be used again right after or would scent of blood scare off the next group of hogs to enter that spot?
Before Trappers were planning, sitting and waiting to drop the trap at the right time. I had often said to My Friend why don’t they just use the pigs greediness to their advantage, and Someone Heard my thoughts. This is a NO hassle system. They literally catch themselves. But it sure is interesting to see how they slowly figure out that something isn’t right. But as soon as another Hog comes along, trying to get in that flight instinct gives way to greed again and they start eating again. I can’t hear it but is there a signal or something that goes off when they’re all in or is it that AAAHHHAAAA effect that triggers the “OOOHHHH SSSSHHHHIIIITTTT “ reflex? I’m glad Someone read my thoughts in a Vlog. Its surprise how much pressure those thin poles can withstand though. Those Hogs come full Bully and with the strength of 4-7 at one time, but can’t get out. Very simple but 100% effective. They’re smart enough to get in but just damn enough not to t out. What happens when you go near the trap to dispatch them then? The big hog was yanking on the fencing,not for long or very forcefully,and compromised it significantly. Not only that,but they scatter like cockroaches when approached,and bang up against the fencing. How would that mesh hold up if all those hogs started ramming it to get out?
007 If it's set according to the instruction, it holds up just fine, even with a 400# boar in one test case. Watch more of the videos. I've seen only one where a giant of a boar escaped a Pig Brig, but the owner points out where he failed to set it correctly. Even then, the boar didn't learn to avoid it, and was right back in it after a couple of days. He didn't survive the second encounter. If you set a Pig Brig in among trees, you can use them in place of the T-posts, saving even more work and money.
Hey Pig Brig. Is there a way to incorporate a panel of heavy plywood on one face, with a hatch / gate for live loading of caught hogs into a trailer? Or simply as a safe point for the operator to stand behind when ‘dispatching’ the mob, and then removing the carcasses?
It's interesting. Those poles would have to be pretty strong and in the grouind pretty good. They would take longer to set up than a fall trap but easier to transport. It should be cheaper by quite a bit. You wouldn't necessarily need a camera. It might work as good as their poison system and just as easy or easier to setup.
The poles don’t have to be that strong because the hogs never physically try to escape, they never panic and go nuts like when the gate drops on them with a remote control trap.

The bottom of the net was facing inward when they came in. Then, they're standing on top of the net as they try to burrow underneath or through it. It's difficult, but not impossible to push the net outward and escape. Or as a big pig crawl's in a smaller pig could use that opening and leave.

This is the best trap simply because it doesn't have that traditional drop! Without a drop or a door closing, panic never ensues! They just hang around, it never crosses their minds that they are even trapped! Usually, they'd be running around destroying the ground and even the trap.
Interesting behaviour. In England when a sounder encounters a wire mesh fence, the alpha boar usually digs down low with his tusks and gets leverage at the bottom of the fence than raises his head to bend the bottom wire of the fence up to make a hole for him and the rest. I saw the big pig here sort of doing that but it did not work so it gave up.
What happens to them eventually? Someone shows up and shoots them one by one? Is the net strong enough to contain the panic that no doubt ensues after the first shot?

You use a separate piece to cover over the trap when it is set up. Looks like a cargo cover net for Utes (pick-up truck to Seppos)

I cannot imagine anyone would want to “retrieve” them alive. These destructive animals are in here until the trapper comes and then they are not.

I can’t hear it but is there a signal or something that goes off when they’re all in or is it that AAAHHHAAAA effect that triggers the “OOOHHHH SSSSHHHHIIIITTTT “ reflex? I’m glad Someone read my thoughts in a Vlog. Its surprise how much pressure those thin poles can withstand though. Those Hogs come full Bully and with the strength of 4-7 at one time, but can’t get out. Very simple but 100% effective. They’re smart enough to get in but just damn enough not to t out. Good work Y’all.
What happens when you go near the trap to dispatch them then? The big hog was yanking on the fencing,not for long or very forcefully,and compromised it significantly. Not only that,but they scatter like cockroaches when approached,and bang up against the fencing. How would that mesh hold up if all those hogs started ramming it to get out?

007 If it's set according to the instruction, it holds up just fine, even with a 400# boar in one test case. Watch more of the videos. I've seen only one where a giant of a boar escaped a Pig Brig, but the owner points out where he failed to set it correctly. Even then, the boar didn't learn to avoid it, and was right back in it after a couple of days. He didn't survive the second encounter. If you set a Pig Brig in among trees, you can use them in place of the T-posts, saving even more work and money.

Hey Pig Brig. Is there a way to incorporate a panel of heavy plywood on one face, with a hatch / gate for live loading of caught hogs into a trailer? Or simply as a safe point for the operator to stand behind when ‘dispatching’ the mob, and then removing the carcasses?
It's interesting. Those poles would have to be pretty strong and in the grouind pretty good. They would take longer to set up than a fall trap but easier to transport. It should be cheaper by quite a bit. You wouldn't necessarily need a camera. It might work as good as their poison system and just as easy or easier to setup.
The poles don’t have to be that strong because the hogs never physically try to escape, they never panic and go nuts like when the gate drops on them with a remote control trap.
@@claymac7895 Until the capturing/killing time comes. Perhaps use a silenced rifle or even bow & arrow.
@@Beezlie727 They still panic when being killed. One major risk is loose bullets cutting the mesh.
In all the videos so far I have seen them trying to get out...this is the first one where they are trying to get in

Holly cow. I saw the troops coming in like a rat invasion, just tastier when roasted. 😂😂😂 I have a question since I’m not familiar with this method of trapping. How is it that they can go in under the net, but can’t get out?
The bottom of the net was facing inward when they came in.
Then, they're standing on top of the net as they try to burrow underneath or through it.
It's difficult, but not impossible to push the net outward and escape.
Or as a big pig crawl's in a smaller pig could use that opening and leave.

This is the best trap simply because it doesn't have that traditional drop! Without a drop or a door closing, panic never ensues! They just hang around, it never crosses their minds that they are even trapped! Usually, they'd be running around destroying the ground and even the trap.
What I want to know is how well does "head knockin" go?
This just goes to show us how hi-tech the equipment has to be to out smart a hog 🤷🏻♂️
Interesting behaviour. In England when a sounder encounters a wire mesh fence, the alpha boar usually digs down low with his tusks and gets leverage at the bottom of the fence than raises his head to bend the bottom wire of the fence up to make a hole for him and the rest. I saw the big pig here sort of doing that but it did not work so it gave up.

What happens to them eventually? Someone shows up and shoots them one by one? Is the net strong enough to contain the panic that no doubt ensues after the first shot?
Toss a grenade in the middle to avoid the panic
