I have had those day more times than I can count! But you just have to keep playing...you never know what is going to happen. Liam...that's what we call "Real Golf!"
Do you realize that nobody would watch Tiger or Jack play that kind of golf for 46 minutes ? But we watch you. You must be loved. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from the States.
I play with golfers whose expectations outweigh their ability. They tend to loose the plot and not enjoy the round. Golf is a game you never crack, every day is different. Just get out there and enjoy it the way you do. Cheers for a good video.
Well said, I played a round last Sunday in blustery, showery conditions with the chance of breaking 100, till I hit an 11 on the 18! I'll be back out this weekend though trying to win a comp!
I’ve said before I’m not a golf player!! I’ve watch nearly all your videos and as you say it’s real golf!! Good on you Liam for keeping on playing, most people would have thrown their clubs in a pond and cleared off home. 👏 I think the fact your talking to the golf mates as you play takes a lot of your game away!!! Great video mate, reset and go again. 👍
I generally struggle watching any course vlog that is over 20 minutes long. For this reason I love watching @Not A Scratch Golfer channel for quick relatable course vlog. With that being said this particular vlog was a pleasure to sit through and Liam is so great I may watch it again.
I love it!! Respect the game, respect the course, always try and get better but never take yourself TOO seriously!! Love this video for the way you talked through it and remained positive!!
This is one of your best videos yet, Liam. Honest, relatable, and you kept smiling and laughing all the way til the end. You're the most human golfer on TH-cam, and we love you for it. And that ending with the cheering crowd made me cheer for you as well. Thank you so much for making these videos - you're a class act through and through! 👍
I'm so glad I found this channel. This is my experience of golf. Did the same thing myself just last week. Played my best round of +3, handicap cut to 8.3 then next round +17. It was like I'd never held a club before.
Thank you so much liam I can’t say how many times I got frustrated with how I was hitting the ball and things not going my way and I just want to thank you for helping me learn a good lesson brilliant mentality all the way round thank you for another brilliant video.
I appreciate your honest vlog. Many TH-cam golfers only show their good shots--sometimes their 2nd or 3rd shot. I just had a da like yours, and your vlog made me feel much better. Thanks.
This made me laugh for a number of reasons. I have played / hacked round this wonderful course a couple of times and couldn't recognise it from the video and I cracked up at 36.50 "do you think its left edge?" Brilliant. Subscribed intermediately
Had an similar experience today. Last time I played I had my best round. Today nothing worked. Guess days like these are when you're actually learning and improving. Just keep swinging!
Spot on mate... never give up... there's nothing worse than when a playing partner verbally n visibly gives up... a real bummer for the round. Summer fairways can be cruel mistresses
I know exactly how you feel, the difference is you can putt and it's a rare day for you and the norm for me. Well done mate, I'm sure having laid back Lee with you helps 👍👍
Super fun to watch. I never play over 75. Gets any warmer than that, I quit. Love how you protect the courses. Full follow though on the green side bunkers helps. Let's see Lee out there with you more. Thank you for more joy. Keep them coming please.
"Got this for birdie" (100 yards) "Just in off the left Lee?" (90 yards) - definitely reminds me of me and lads playing. Class video and very relatable!
Great video as always Liam, I turned up this morning to my golf club in New Mills, the course was in great condition but the rain was so heavy we had to go home after waiting for a while to see if it eased. Gutted as I was really looking forward to a round - can always rely on golf mates to cheer me up lol 😂
@@graemesmith3117 yes, it’s a lovely course the back nine is quality with some beautiful holes. The green keepers do an amazing job to keep it looking great 👍🏻
Really enjoyed that Liam - staying positive and taking the good with the bad is a great lesson. Nice mention for you and Daniel on Dan Hendrikson's Sunday show this morning.
Totally agree with Don on repairing pitch marks, i played today and must have repaired at least two others on every green, Liam tell every one it only costs pence for a pitch mark repairer and seconds to do.
Best video that you have made by a mile. Superb! Many golfers would have thrown their toys (or clubs) out of their pram. Smiles all the way. Well done.
Brilliant. A longer video. Great to see. Great attitude Liam. Course looks fab. I’ve just played 18 holes 7 over my handicap and should have smiled more. Great game golf ⛳️ wish I could shoot 80🏌🏾♂️
All joking apart Liam it is something I struggle with when I play poorly. I really do struggle to control my temper. A video on how to do this would be excellent
Nice one Liam, I shot 80 and 81 last weekend after having a lesson, hopefully there is another golf mates event soon so I can come up and get my fiver back off Mr B. quest to break 80 sting ongoing.
Loved this video Liam. Great job just showing how golf can be somedays and I liked your positive comments. You're right when you say it's only a game and if the golf is crap, just try to enjoy the environment. There's plenty worse places to be. Keep the good work coming.
cracking video Liam, not only don't give up but just play each hole. Once it's done it's done, I try not to go out with a gross score in mind, just wanbt to play well. Some days you hit the ball well and nothing drops, bad bounces etc, other days you play army golf, and score well. It's not how, it's how many is so true. You actually scrambled well in this round, had plenty of bunker practice :-) all out in 1, and putted well. My starting aim is not to 3 putt, if i can get it close then a single putt is on, that's where the dropping of gross score starts to be seen.
Love the jackrabbit photo bombing as you putted the 11th! Doesn't get any more real, still a good time around a nice track and not an awful score. Always a pleasure to watch, nice work Lee. (PS - Nearly 150K GolfMates!!!)
Always enjoy the videos. Big fan from USA, love the banner and your self talk as well. Golf Mates love the meaning, even borrowed the “Golf Mates”name for our winter league team name. Great work!
We have had some heavy rain so not been able to get out this weekend. Great video and gives me the urge to get out today. You are a magician, caddying at Fairmont and doing this, it’s magic. 😂
I am sure Lee and Mr Barlow(when he sees this) would have laughed at some of the golf you produced today but as you rightly say "good or bad" golf has to be fun and enjoyed whatever.. C,est la vie as the French say. I actually enjoyed this as it was not a course you play every week and looked quite difficult. There,s always anoth er day Liam.
Watching your struggles today has been wonderful. One of the things that low handicappers don’t realise is that how you’ve played on this video would be a great day for me. But respect to you for showing it and I hope I can get that score next time I play.
Great video. Shows us that even the good golfers play like us less gifted people sometimes. Love the just have fun attitude. At least your out on the course like you say.
Good to see your still stroking vindaloo with confidence. Looks like the doctor has been giving you the remedies again with some of those approaches!! Now you just have to do is perfect the “scoopy whoopy”, the “duff n run”, and let’s not forget the ”soft hands drop shot”. Get those three sorted out and you will be playing along side Daniel Son on tour!.
Had this kind of round today. And of course, last hole, par 5. Third shot 150 over water, downhill lie, woohoo, on the green. Then wouldnt ya know it..Birdie! You always have a shot for redemption. Guess I gotta go back. Thanks Mr Liam for reminding us its a,game to be "Played" not won
I played with a guy the other day in a club comp. Some proper heads gone moments (shouting, thrashing the grass with his clubs, hitting the ground, pacing round the tee and swearing) from him and without making excuses for my own poor performance they had a negative effect on my game. I would seriously rather not play than play with him again and it ruined my Sunday. Remember no matter how badly you are playing think of the impact on those around you. I have been guilty of this in the past but reigned myself in when a mate had a word with me. Try to realise that no matter how poor I am playing it's still generally better than what I would be doing. I would rather double bogey a short par 3 than put up some shelves or go to Ikea on a Sunday.
Thanks Liam for filming an entire 18 holes. Enjoyed the struggles, enjoyment, attitude and play. Need to add this style of filming (you or a golf mate paying 18) more often. Agree to, "need to stop thinking and just have fun and play". ;>)
Hi Liam lad thanks for sharing that. I had one of them days yesterday.. Really enjoyed this video. everyone has these days and for the majority this is a good round . but far to many don't have enough fun on the course like Liam was . and agree with another comment I seen . need to get Lee back on the channel playing
Hi Liam, great to see you play and film a full 18 holes. I really admire your perseverance and attitude - that was real golf and you still got a decent score. However, I could probably count the number of practice swings on drives and iron shots on one hand - have you forgotten about them? Keep up the great work, you and all of the team.
How did I manage to play so badly put still post a decent score?

NEVER GIVE UP! #golfmates 😂
