    Meanwhile the Army still expects you to max out on situps as an indication of your core strength. The PFT is about as antiquated as carrying an M1 into battle instead of an M4 and the new and improved version they're planning on implementing looks more like watered down Cross Fit than anything that would actually prepare you for the battlefield. Maybe Matt can talk some sense into them. The reverse hyper and glute ham raise alone look like they'd save our backs and knees from long ruck marches.

      You have to think about the logistics of administering a test requiring equipment. The Army is already utilizing a new test.

    • @waifuwrangler
      @waifuwrangler 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CornFedMF And the new test requires a bunch of equipment most Army bases don't already have. That's why the implementation of the test has been delayed until next year. So they're already thinking about the logistics. But are they thinking about the test itself? I wonder...

    • @CornFedMF
      @CornFedMF 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @The Last Operator you got out because the Army is behind on exercise? I'm interested how that had such a negative impact on your life.

    • @CornFedMF
      @CornFedMF 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@waifuwrangler Right, it's delayed because of difficulties with logistics. The fact they're attempting to implement a new type of evaluation shows they are thinking about said test.

      In the RMC we still do Press ups, sit ups, pull ups and the mile and a half for our PFT.

    How similar is the Reverse Hyper and Glute Ham raises compared to say. Nordic hamstring curl? It seems like the reverse hyper has more overall back engagement included but unfortunately my gym doesn't have anything even remotely similar to half the exercises on here.

    I really like this program idea and just started it to give it a try. My only idea is I think the extra back stuff will help with a police duty belt in the vest digging into your spine all day. But functionally, a firefighter and a cop are way different. Firefighters do train with their tanks and definitely need back/core health. As far as call volume and wearing tanks during duty, it's very rare in my area and it's 80% medical calls. Where in law enforcement you're chasing down people who don't have gear on and boots. Then you're fighting people that are high on meth / other drugs that have a crazy adrenaline level. So you need to be strong, athletic, but also very explosive. Work capacity and the endurance definitely helps when fighting someone, but you need to have that top-end strength to go with it. The quicker you can go Hands-On and stop the fight the less of a chance something bad happens. I'm just curious if there's different programming that can add to the power along with the endurance/strength in the tactical program. I definitely support all First Responders, but there is a large difference in job duties. Thanks again for all the programming, videos, and time! Very awesome training videos.

      Great questions for patreon. And yes they would be vastly different if the stated population had a base of strength- conditioning already. Unfortunately this can be some of the most unfit groups you could
      Possibly imagine- so the first 5 or so years must be used to build a general base
      Your thought on job specificity is a common error seen with most people’s thought problems
      It should be more of a cognitive approach as to where they share common injuries and skeletal issues 💪💪

    • @Turley30

      @Wenning Strength so is the patreon something you have to purchase separate if you're already on online coaching plan/program? Definitely loving the program so far because it's a change of pace and the work capacity building is definitely a plus. Got too caught up on straight powerlifting and one rep Maxes and overlooked my conditioning. I just want to make sure I keep my top and strength on this program because I know it's not individually based. My CNS apparently likes to touch the 90 percentile territory occasionally. Was kinda unsure about programs really. Where in the example online, it appears the Wenning strength conjugate seems to use the conditioning but also touches heavier weights. I really hope this doesn't come off as argumentative or not appreciative because I know in the end of the day you guys definitely have more experience and know far more than I do in this field. Just wanting to share..lol My best lifts are 485 on bench, 615 deadlift, and a squat triple with 555 parallel, all at 200 lbs naturally. Definitely nowhere near as impressive as say Mr. Wenning himself!! Very grateful for what y'all do and thank you so much for your responses, time, and patience. Unfortunately, I do have an OCD when it comes to certain things, and I will research workout stuff hours on end once I get in the mode. Lol 😆
