The weddings and family reconciliations that occurred during final week were truly heartfelt. I do wish that they still used the wonderful sets BEFORE this last period. The beautiful country club (which was the setting for some of GL's most memorable moments such as the Quint/Nola antebellum ball, Phillip's discovery of his true parentage, and the first Billy/Vanessa wedding) was practically a character in itself, for example. Also, I wish they had used more appropriate background music (like the music during the Dobson/Marland eras or during the Pam Long era).
Yes, even though they fought each other tooth and nail for control of Spaulding and bought so much of their "issues" with their Parents most notably Brandon to their relationships, they really loved each other. Remember back in the day she and Amanda battled each other for Alan's attention. Also I realized that Phillip Spaudling & Rick Bauer had the first "Bromance" on TV. Those two went through so much, and no matter what Alan did to them professionally and personally they were able to forgive him.
I remember this as if it was yesterday. Alexandera and Alan were typical brother and sister. They understood each other even at the end. It's sad when one loses a sibling.

That was a beautiful thing Rafe did thanking Frank for everything. Hiring Natalia at Company, her breaking up Gus & Harley, then Frank realizing he was pushing himself too much on Natalia kind of like how one of the Servants did on Gentleman Jack. Frank's biggest problem was that Frank was looking for a "Mommy", Nadine leaving him affected him more than he realized.
In it's own way you couldn't help but feel sorry for Phillip. He's an Orphan now that all Four Of His Parents Are Dead. Elizabeth, Jackie, Alan & Justin.
I wish that Phillip (given the end of the show and having another chance to live) would have had scenes in which he made completely made peace with Justin and Elizabeth, and acknowledged how much he missed Jackie.
Jackie died in the 1970's while Justin died in the 1980's. When Phillip & Beth got Married another Actor played Justin that didn't click the same way "Substitute Ross" didn't click when Roger went on his rant at The Country Club that won him his Emmy.

I told UK Soap Fans about Alan Michael Spaulding & Michelle Bauer being Cousins Once Removed and on Eastenders Ian Beale is Cousin Once Removed to Martin Fowler since Martin's Mother Pauline Is Ian's Aunt.
What was so heartbreaking was that Alan and Alex had the most dysfunctional relationship that a Brother & Sister could have where they hurt each other, themselves, children and spouses and now that he was gone, it was another feeling of abandonment. Losing Eric, Marriages to Roger & Cyrus being a joke, not to mention losing Fletcher.
Don't you notice that Rick & Phillip both had one thing in common. They both lost their Mothers at young ages. Alan & Roger also lost their Mothers at Young Ages and I think that affected them. When I look at Rick & Phillip's Friendship it parallels Paddy Kirk and Marlon Dingle on the UK Soap Opera Emmerdale, they have this Love/Hate Relationship and Paddy was Married to Women from the same Family Mandy & Emily Dingle while Phillip, Gus, & Alan Michael were all married to Harley at one time or another.
ALEXANDRA and ALAN were my favorite loving disfunctional siblings! MARJ DUSAY was so perfect for this role and her many others. She was also an amazing, gracious LADY. RIP, dearest MARJ! 🏆. 👑. 💜 💖 . 🕊.

Yes, Kathryn Hays admitted it was cheaper to crate a Talk Show or do a Reality TV Show then to do a Soap Opera. Here's a fun fact. Elizabeth Hubbard who played Lucinda Walsh on As The World Turns was also on the German Soap Opera Verboten Liebe as the American Mother of one of the Characters. IN The UK there's also a Soap Opera Called Doctors that Stirling Gallacher was on that you may remember played Jennifer Taylor on The UK Version of The Office. Now alot of US Fans watch UK Soaps and they love them, most notably Eastenders and Coronation Street. Actors from Victoria, Granchester, Gentleman Jack and Downton Abbey also made their Bones on UK Soaps like Emmerdale, Coronation Street, & EastEnders.
Another cute Soap Child is Millie Tate on Emmerdale. When her Grandmother Kim held her Little Brother Thomas, the poor Baby looked terrified because Kim was such a Beyotch back in the day.

I feel like the writers crammed things into the last week that made no sense and the last show was a joke and a poor way to do the viewers who have watched it for years, I remember back in the day with Pappa Bauer. Maybe if they had thought about what made the show popular to start with it would not be going off the air. Allan's death was poorly written.
I thought I was the only one. I really hated him and Ava back in the day. Remember when he caused The Spaulding Employee their job when he didn't give the Job Offer Package from Alan Michael. The Poor Employee got fired but got Rehired but the best thing was that Alan decided to cut him off financially.
How could you dislike coop? Person I could never stand with Jonathan. I couldn't Jonathan and his cousin as a couple(Cassie dahghter). Jonathan running outfit Sarah made no sense to me. By that time the show was deteriorating beyond recognition. I did like the ending episodes it brought closure to lot of stories. I'm glad the Four Musketeers were together again.

I think they knew is the end so they just tied up all the Loose Ends they could. I didn't mind the ending. There was a lot of closure.
