Great job Awesome video work. Thank you for sharing your journey your thoughts your feelings emotions, the most beautiful scenery happy days sad days and your most hilarious dancing skills! Wishing happy days happy trails and a wonderful life.
Absolutely beautiful conclusion to your journey. Like others here, I hope you continue to make videos, and if not, that is okay too. I think one of the lessons I learned from the PCT is that all things come to an end at some point, and that's okay. Godspeed Captain Jack.
Great takeaway... and if things didn't end, they wouldn't have such meaning I suppose. I will continue to make videos in good time, appreciate your support. Godspeed friend.
Just finished the last episode. Loved the episodic videos of the PCT trail and was moved by your once in a lifetime experience. Your journey was thoughtfully captured & you did not miss anything. Thanks for sharing !
Jack, I absolutely loved your series. Thank you for sharing your experience and certainly a job well done on production, editing, narration/writing, etc. I can't wait to see how my experience unfolds this year!
Thanks Lily. Glad I could amp you up for your own adventure, I’m jealous that you’re back at the beginning of it all. Some crazy late season snow, curious to hear how things shake out for you, keep me posted.
I agree. Your bigger than life experience is told so beautifully, and with such truth about your real feelings. It is a generous gift, this series. A mix of remarkable film surprises, music choices, and, of course, your words.. so nice. I love chuckling over the selfish ant being scolded for not pulling his weight. And minutes later, my eyes are full of water, as you sort out the big universal questions speaking to you. I feel the way you cherish your friendships, the heart you have for nature..And I don't want this to end. I will always think of you out there in nature, doing your dances, naming the creatures, taking us to the edge of scary ledges. All in a most original way. I want more!!! I want a whole film. Thank you for putting this out here for us to share.
SO well done, Jack !!! Much enjoyed every episode ! SO reminded me of when I lived in a tent, out in the wild (and off the wild) for 2 months ... 45 years ago. I wasn't hiking ... just escaping and learning, and confirming. Cheers Man, you made it as well !!! Congrats all around !!! ... Uncle Jimmy ... (especially got a kick out of that Captain Jack clip in the first episode that we made at the office, back when I helped you make your first website ... way back when you were just a newly emerging online tot ! ;-) ) ... I still have copies of all the versions of that site and all the vids (and many others of you) in my archives. Hope that you are doing splendidly ... seems like you are !!!
Uncle Jimmy! Really great to hear from you. Thanks for watching the whole series. We'll have to hang out near Atlantic Beach one of these days so I can hear more about your times in the tent long ago. I miss living out there and know that I'll be spending some more time in the woods before too long. That "Captain Jack" webcam clip was the perfect prelude to me receiving the trail name Captain Jack. It came up serendipitously from friends, felt like coming full circle to that young self. I would love to see your archives of the website and any other material from those early years. Cheers :)
This is so beautiful. Teared up in places. Thank you for making this incredible labor of love, can't fathom how many hours went into this series. Phenomenal document of the trail.
Thanks Break Rock... it's nice that we unknowingly chatted before trail about prep... saw each other at KM, then Chinook, then faced finish line fire fears together... I've appreciated your impeccable commentary throughout the series.
Such a great Vid Captain Jack. I also Hiked in 2022, also paddled Ross Lake to the boarder and am also struggling to get back to life after the trail. We must have just missed you. Your vid helped me re connect with the younger, better version of myself I became on trail. Thanks for sharing some of the universal beautiful moments the PCT provides.
Wow, can't believe we traced such a similar path. It's so true... living outside, jumping into lakes, making fires, being fully present in every conversation and human moment... it really does make us younger. I miss that me. But I'm also happy to know that I will forever have the confidence and spirit to do something this big, should the opportunity arise again.
"And just like that, it was over We had finished Finished what? Nothing was different It was just another day What did i think was going to happen?" Goddamnit. The arbitrariness, the meaninglessness. Your ability to capture these sensations, to present various layers and different aspects of the thru hiking experience is unmatchable. a real depction of one's journey. truly eye opening. "Things came into focus" (2:45) gave me some serious chills. The writing, the scenes, the music. What an incredible piece of art you have created. Congratulations Jack Until the next one ❤️😉
Ishay, you give the best damn reactions haha. I'm really glad you enjoyed the more subtle, less glorified realities of trail that I tried to show. It was an honor and a privilege finishing this journey and reaching Canada with you. Glad we found each other in Stehekin and Ranger Rachel helped us figure out our alternate ending.
Thanks Jess. I really love your style and the things you captured... I'm glad my feelings resonated with you. Time to step back and take a break from writing about the PCT haha.

I'm glad you enjoyed the full gamut of wilderness experiences!

Thank you very much for this series and everything you shared. Still processing my own 2023 pct truhike. Yes, with flipping;-)
2023 was a pretty insane year from what I heard, hope you had many beautiful experiences, even when the mountains forced you to adapt your plans :)
Thank you!!!

Thanks friend. So glad you enjoyed it. More to come soon on new adventures. Cheers.
Best PCT trip i've seen so far. The detours just made it perfect. Had fun watching it. Thank you sir.
Right on. Those unexpected twists often create more memories than the plans we have. Cheers, thanks for watching.
Best PCT YT Doc I've ever seen. Loved every minute Capt Jack! Please stay active here, we love your storytelling (even if it's not on trail)
Thank you so much man. I will definitely be telling more adventures on here :) appreciate you

Thank you friend :)
We have watched a lot of PCT videos…yours is very unique and personal. We enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your adventure. You have a interesting story telling skillset. I hope you can continue to practice and further develop it.
There will definitely be more George... I learned a lot in this process and am excited to keep exploring my style 🤙
@9:56
Finished....what?
It's about the JOURNEY (...about getting there). Bittersweet.... it always is. (Long live Intruder Mouse!)
Intruder Mouse! What a valiant spirit
Jack, this is so beautiful. Your writing is impeccable and encapsulates so many feelings I could never put to words. Thank you for this series!

Loved to follow your story. Hope you'll find a way to fit nature into your everyday life. You can re-invent yourself at any time.
Thanks Ingrid... it's so important that we're not limited to who we've been. I'm definitely expecting a few more re-inventions before it's all done.
You have an art for videoing and narrating. Enjoyed
Thanks friend :)
