EVgo putting all Delta 350s at the Chico site rather than their usual mix of 350kW and 100kW stations is an interesting choice. Love watching these, great video!
I can do 18 of my Greater Boston shopping trips before passing the miles of one of yours... good way to demonstrate why range still matters for drivers in many parts of the country. Thanks for taking us on a retail road trip!⚡🛒
I used to own a business in Chico 20 years ago. Saw that evgo site go up and thinking that was a good improvement to the city’s infrastructure. Then to suddenly see it disappear.
Yes. I'm still trying to figure out why it was powered down. I saw something similar happen to an EVgo site in Moorpark. In that case, someone had literally stolen the copper contacts out of the cabinets/switchgear. The only other thing I can figure is that they secured the funding for the chargers and installation, but they hadn't secured the power feed in the lease agreement (e.g., the property manager got hit with the power bill).
The churn of cars at the stations is really interesting and is a positive sign of growth & utilization. The Chico Walmart EA was barely empty between when you said the EV6 left and another car showed up (Lexus RZ?). I can't imagine the aneurysm Kyle Conner would have at the sight of pulling into the Old Town Chico EA only to find two Bolts and a BZ4X charging.
@@anthonyc8499 The Walmart is in Willows, off I-5, so it's about 30 miles from Chico. It would be cool if the Chico Walmart had an EA site, too. For the BofA site, we left one 350 kW open! 😁 I've also read PlugShare reports that E-GMP drivers avoid the site because they have to back into the stalls against traffic. Interesting stuff.
Yes, that's possible. There were only maybe a dozen people who got their Bolt EVs before me, and I'm not sure that any of them are current owners. Right now, I'm up to 185,000 miles, so high, but not too high. I know of several Bolt EVs with 250-300k miles.
I always think of you as the number 1 bolt driver on TH-cam. I watched you since 2016. Eric. You got to do something that not many get to do is meet bjorn nyland and race him when he was hear for a Tesla event . Kyle Connor has been to Norway and a few times and can’t get to meet him. Now that he has 2 kids at age 44 people won’t be able to now. I’m 60 and I can’t imagine a. Baby and toddler at 45
@markfitzpatrick6692 Yeah, that was amazing and fun. I just wish I hadn't botched the route and let the Bolt EV down. Still, it was clear even then that Bjorn barely had time even to do that. Now I've just got to see if I can get a spot on one of Kyle's cross country races. 😁
Thanks Eric for the update on the current situation in Chico and Northern California.
Nice that your DJI mic also got the holiday update 🙂

Thanks! I agree. I think I'm going to go explore some more EVgo sites this weekend.

Wait until you see me picking up my Christmas tree.
@2:00 curious. Same happened at PFJ in Patterson. At the time I chalked it up to a missing permit or something
@@thenetworkarchitectchannel That could be too. There are additional rounds of inspections in California, though I think some CPOs ignore them.

You could be the longest owner of a Chevy Bolt in history. How many total miles are you up to now? And how long have you owned it?

@@newscoulomb3705 I'd absolutely love to see you in a Bolt EV for one of Out of Spec's Race to Vegas or something.
