I was listening to some Old God voice lines, everyone of the Old Gods talks extensively about death,killing, end times, the destruction of things ect - typical old god stuff right? Well, remember G'Huun? The 'experimental' creation of an Old God made by the Titan Keepers and possibly Titans in the facility that is Uldir ? G'huun is pretty gross parasite like creature that feeds on 'blood' and is associated with decay and rot - but G'huun's voice lines aren't about death it's ONLY about growth,feeding, spread and infection... not a single voice line about death. "Finally, when the planet ruptures like a giant boil, my rot will spread across the cosmos." - sounds pretty void-like to me!

I have a theory, similar but slightly different from your own theory, about "Shadow". So, we have Light and Void as opposite sides of the same coin, cosmically speaking. But I believe that Shadow (that is, all the traditionally "evil" things in the Warcraft universe, like disease, necromancy, famine, destruction, hatred, etc.) lies somewhere in between Death and Fel on the cosmic map from Chronicles. Why? Because both the demons of the Burning Legion AND the various Undead entities we've encountered all speak so fondly about "the Shadow". The Shadow seemed to be the unifying factor of evil in Warcraft before the Void was introduced into the lore, and I don't believe that Void and Shadow are the same. After all, why in the hell would members of the Burning Legion, who are supposed to be on a Burning Crusade to stop the Void, praise the Shadow if the Shadow and Void were the same thing? Now, I know what you're probably wondering right about now. You're probably wondering, "Well, if Shadow represents the in-between of Death and Fel, what are the other in-betweens on Warcraft's cosmic map?" I think in between Fel and Light, we have Energy (fire, heat, glowing light as opposed to "holy" light). Its opposite, in between Void and Arcane, is Entropy (cold, icy darkness and emptiness). The opposite of Shadow, in between Life and Arcane, is Hope (goodness, love, nurturing, etc.). Now, in between Death and Void, we have Abyss, that pure black nothingness that Sylvanas Windrunner experienced after her suicide at the end of WotLK. And the opposite of Abyss, in between Life and Light, we have Paradise, which would be similar to the Emerald Dream but better and incorruptible.
This reminds me of Azathoth from the Cthulhu mythos saga. Essentially, all of reality is a dream that Azathoth is having and when he wakes, it will all be snuffed out. The Elder Gods/ Outer Gods/ etc role is to prevent Azathoth from waking until the appointed time. Nyarlathotep is principally responsible for keeping Azathoth asleep. So...who is Nyarlathotep in WoW, who keeps Azeroth dreaming?

Maybe Sargeras is the only one that stayed Loyal to Azeroth and his stab was a desperate attempt to wake her up..... thing is when she wakes up what happens to all life on Azeroth is this a Links Awakening situation? Did the Titans build the planets around Argus and and Azeroth? Notice how when they used the dead Argus soul to grab Sargeras he was extremely afraid. Fear.... it is what drives us all.

You know, of everything in this video that would convince me, one of your last points is the most tangible and concrete to me. Why dont the old gods speak of the void lords? Even a subtle reference? You're right. They just speak of the void as a concept, a force, a domain. The void lords dont exist. I do disagree about the in-game enemy void lords, I really think thats just naming inconsistency and they're just meant to be void tough guys and not really hinting at anything.

Xal'atath calls Dimensius the All-Devouring a manifestation of the void lords, but describes him and other manifestations as "fragments, shadows, the faintest of echoes". It's safe to assume the real void lords, should they find a better way to enter our realm, would be much more powerful.

At around 20:00 you talk about life unbound including rot and decay and all that. Remember that failed experiment we saw earlier in the expansion? Namely G'huun. It was rot, it was decay, it was blood. Maybe they tried to somehow create something that could create life and failed miserably.
I find it super interesting what you were talking about with Life Unbound resulting in endless decay. For me it immediately brought to mind lore from Warhammer 40k, 1 of the 4 major Chaos Gods is Grandfather Nurgle.. He essentially represents entropy, endless decay, pestilence, and disease. His favorite past times are inventing various new diseases and poxes to "gift' to mortals and admiring his horrific gardens of pestilence, muck, and rot. The real kicker that I found so interesting is that when a mortal suffering from disease or decay pledges their loyalty and soul to Grandfather Nurgle becoming corrupted by chaos , Nurgle gifts those mortals with a release from all pain and immortality so that they may endlessly decay from the various diseases they are afflicted with. An interesting parallel to the end result of life that is unbound yet immortal stuck in and endless loop of decay, for the servants of Nurgle it all spirals down to becoming rotted and bloated corpses, infested with parasites, pestilence, and disease... slowly withering away for eternity, perfect representations of death yet unable to die. I am an avid reader of HP Lovecraft, and have been following you, and your theories for a long time. Pretty much anytime an old great one is referenced in something, I zoom over to learn as much as I can and enjoy the new interpretation of them, luckily I was a big fan of warcraft already. The Outer Gods in Lovecraftian literature are often called the children of Azathoth, the dreamer. But, one in particular, Nyarlathotep, is closer to the incarnation of Azathoth's will. Azathoth the sleeper, exists in their own meager reality, and within their own dream as a horrid, indescribable mass. However, their consciousness essentially manifests in Nyarlathotep (and possibly the outer gods.) I really like your idea of the old gods being Azeroth's dreams. Because what did they do? They tunneled straight into Azeroth's core, they dug to the Titan soul, and for what? I would say to wake her up. And when the Titan's ripped out Y'shaarj , they panicked. The "damage" to Azeroth was too great. why would they be so concerned for Azeroth? Compassion? I think not. They feared that the damage done to Azeroth by the removal of Y'shaarj would wake her up. The Titan's are aware of the eldritch truth and fear the destruction of their reality with the waking of Azeroth. The end of the dream. So they weave an intricate plot to ensure that Azeroth never wakes, that Azeroth's eldritch truth never comes to fulfillment and ends their world. "All eyes shall be opened." Azeroth will wake up. I don't really expect you to ever read this, but if you did boy would that make my day. Or if anyone else did, to be honest. I never really get many opportunities to talk about this stuff, even though I love it oh so dearly. I really hope Blizzard is half as clever as you are.
the part in uldaman where it talks about the titans creating the dwarves mentions that their creation matrix was an altered one, using earth as a tool instead of you guessed it... flesh.
with regards to the void lords creating the old gods : it is theorised that Brownian motion in outer space could provide the best place for proto-life to begin before raining down upon worlds to fully get their being an organism on if we take the void literally to be space since the light is literal light to an extent, the void lords might be able to exert minor force on things in the void of space, perhaps the movement of molecules and such to get Brownian motion to make life forms likely? no, plausible? yes

the old shaman quest lines where you had to do quests for each elemental force and get your totems, at the end of the 4 elements, you'd do a quest for the spirit of life as well... it was a "fifth element" or quintessence, if you will

It breathes life and excitement for the future into WoW's lore again :). - 4:30 The pantheon had to sever the Legion's connection to the Argus world soul in order to prevent their armies from just regenerating in the twisting nether. The Legion had used Argus' soul as a power source for this for eons one can only assume. To stop this the Pantheon literally drew his soul out of the planet and straight to The Seat of The Pantheon. *You're pretty much fighting a used-up husk of a soul, **_not_** a physical body.* Once Argus' soul was vanquished, they used the last of remnants of it to imprison Sargeras.
When he talked about death being fair but life is what you're supposed to be scared of, reminds me of Il'gynoth saying, "The pain of death is fleeting. True torment lasts forever."
If Azeroth is the Titan of creation, who created everything, and the Titans are keeping her asleep so she doesn't awaken because 'there can be no re-creation without destroying the original' then the Void Lords themselves are her creations. Perhaps the Old Gods are her way of trying to break free from the unnatural imprisonment placed upon her by the other Titans. If she was to awake and destroy everything in an act of creation, it would make sense the Sargeras would seek to awaken her in order to complete his mission to destroy all life to keep the Void Lords from gaining followers. Perhaps when he stabbed the planet it wasn't about killing her as much as awakening her or forcing us to awaken her by saving her.
I totally agree with this. Sargeras's stab was either to weaken, wake, or kill. Weaken means to free something. Wake means to wake Azeroth herself. Kill means..well...to make her finally die and move to the next step.
For me, who happens to love Lovecraft's works, I'm happy to see that World of Warcraft is becoming one of my favorite games because of transforming out of some "Good vs Evil" a.k.a Alliance vs Horde into an ultimate Lovecraftian story/univerese. Right now, the way world of warcraft is going lorewise and through cinematics and all the stuff, it feel like the game is becoming my lucid dream made manifest.
Absolutely true, if life is left unchecked it will consume all and turn in on itself. If you see the animals on Draenor wrapped up in the vines trying desperately to escape but life wont let it. Perfect quote from Jurassic Park, "life finds a way." I think light is very much connected with life and also cannot be left unchecked. If Azeroth has taken in all this life spirit, she may never wake up. I don't think, even though Sargeras turned and growled at us, was he mad at us but mad that we helped the titans trap him because he was trying to awaken Azeroth and we need him. We can't do it on our own.
I think you hit the nail on the head with the old gods being manifestations of azeroths madness. It actually makes so much sense and would explain a lot. Kinda far fetched but what if n’zoth or however it’s spelled is a self aware manifestation and how he and sylvanas keep saying how our eyes will be opened and shit like that is a foreshadow for re-origination because they are planning to awaken Azeroth? Idk if that comes across as clear as it did in my head but I wrote this on the fly but I think that might be a possibility and “Death”and the awakening of Azeroth are one and the same.

I'm asuming that All these deities below are actually Aspects of Universe itself, so they can manifest themselves as a beings or as an aspects. - First there was Void (Chaos) - Then from that Void, reality came into existance (i.e. Azeroth among aother things) - After some time Emerald dream appeared (Why? Because if we know that Azertoh dreams, also by that extension, other immature Titans do the same and every dream should collide to one point called Emerald dream) - Also another aspect emerged from Void and it was called Shadowlands - And finally we have Elune herself Now, if we for a sake of argument say that Elune and Shadowlands were in a sort of a relationship (I'll come to that), light was created i.e. Naru. So why those two? In Greek mithology Nyx (Night, it's refered as a she) and Darkness (Or Erebus,it is refered as a he) had many gen.2 Deities, among them were heavens/light and Day, also Death, Strife (Which could mean Disorder), dreams, sleep and Aging. Im just puting important ones to the WoW universe, also there are retribution, blame etc... If you look at Cosmology map from Crhonice, you can see that certain aspects are behind Shadowlands and emerald dream respectively. Now if you look at Shadowladns and reality, their relationship. You get Old Gods. So why those two now? In Greek mit. You have Gaia (Earth) and Tartatus (The Abyss), their creation was only one thing and that was Typhon. Now Typhon was a monstrous serpentine giant, and most deadly creature. So he tried to overthrow Zeus for the supremacy of the cosmos, but Zeus finaly won but with the help of Thunderbolts. So in the end Typhon was casted into Tartarus. Does this sound very familiar to someone from WoW :) ??? And finally, lets look at Reality and Emerald dream, you get Titans obviously. Gaia and Uranus had also children and one of them is Pontus (Water) and another ones are Titans, obviously... Regarding Pontus, there are 2 differents stories, one is that he had no father and came from Gaia, so he was born without coupling. And another one is that he is son of Aether (Light) and Gaia (Earth) You said somewhere in your video that clashing of light and void resulted in creation of titan essences, and they were thrown to planets. this could actualy be it... Water represents primordial deity of Gen.2 and after some time on earth it got consciousness (Just like Titans,both stories actualy work for them). Would love to hear your thoughts on this :)

The old god quote "her heart is a crater and we have filled it" makes much more sense now. when the old gods are part of azeroth maybe her literal heart is/ was what we know today as the heart of Y'Sharrj. Which was filled to the brim with old god energy. And left over is a crater -the malestrom/well of eternity that was filled first by water, then by deathwing, an old-god-connected junk of flesh that now lays where her heart should've been. in my head deathwing died exactly where he was supposed to be (by his old god masters) to "fill" the hole in her chest. And become something like a heart transplant for Azeroth.

Good choice, man. I just resubbed for the latest patch and it's nothing but timegated daily/weekly chores and RNG gear lottery. I've already stopped playing. Doesn't even feel like a game with progression anymore. Just a checklist of tasks dictated by weekly resets.
Love listening to the theories :) heres one for you I read the two traveler books recently about arom thorne and a diamond sword that hes putting together to save the light. Theres a couple bits in the second book that were real interesting. I actually read them because of Accolon, btw id love to see what you two could put together lol. Mueh'zala says to him our battle is yet to come... But it will come child, it will come. And if you lose that battle Mueh'zala feasts on all of azeroth, all of azeroth, all of azeroth... His form is shadow and it is always shifting and indistinct. Aside from a giant eyeball we always see n'zoth as a cloud of black with a reaching tentacle.

As far as I know, Void Lords aren't "very" powerful once they manage to get summoned, or cross over to our heroes' plane of existence. Cannot forget Dimensius, however. Mad lad devoured the Ethereal's homeworld to manifest himself and he was barely a challenge to defeat. So call it what you want..void lords...void gods...void itself. Eh. They're hinted to be far far more powerful than what we've seen so far.
If Azeroth is really capable of dream ultimatly everything(or by pure thinking generate reality) it would make sense for the pantheon to let her sleep. Because Azeroth would alone be capable of the powers that the other titans have. She could create and shape life like Eonar, could forge worlds like Khaz'goroth, could control the timeflow.... As Sylvanas said "That will change everything"

One of the main issues the void lords have is being able to fully manifest over here in our reality or realm.. perhaps giving the old gods the “gift” of flesh was the only way to spread their influence without having to channel insane amounts of power and energy to keep them where they are

Been following your content for years and all I can think about right now is how badly I wish blizzards story board writers and lore crafters would watch these videos of yours and take the story in this direction as you are right: this theory is infinitely cooler than what they most likely have in store for us so far
I know this will probably get buried but i figured its the best playce to put it. On the topic of the birth of titans and wether they are born outside of aplanet or if a planet is build around them i just realized that all of lore always stated that golganneth is the son of eonar and amanthul. He is the only titan that has named "parents" and so one have to assume that titans are able to create(?) a new titan. Given the theorie pyro brings forth in this video it seems to me that titan-essences/spirits are being forged first to then build a planet around them. Dunno where im going with this but i just find it odd that no one ( not even pyro) has ever picked up on this detail.
Vepse Gaming its cool, wow is great but it’s weak in lore other than what’s borrowed from wc3. Guild wars 1 &2 lore wise is a much stronger game with a huge emphasis on story.

There's a difference between the "Voidlords" we've fought in game and the "Void Lords" in the chronicle. I know it's silly but the space is important and they're different beings.
Dimensius was a shard of the new Void Lords, check WoWPedia. That being said, you're otherwise right. Voidlords that warlocks summon _are_ different, as are Void Gods.
first issuse with this is in chronicle volume one its states that the titans were just there .. it describes how naaru are created then follows up with how the titans were just around inside planet slumbering and all of a sudden awoke and where as the naaru where trying to safeguard life the titans embarked on a different journey searching for their kind. but the last line in that paragraph is rather intreseting ..." This Grand, far reaching voyage would "One" day alter the course of creation and shape the destiny of all living things" ... it seems the titans are up to something and it kinda proves that azeroth is the titan of creation

I also thought about some things Algalon says; "there is partial corruption in the planets life-support systems, aswell as complete corruption in most of the planets defense mechanisms". I wonder what the purpose of these life-support systems and defense mechanisms are, since they are obviously titanic creations. He also says "perhaps it is your imperfection, that which grants you free will" i.e. the curse of flesh? If that is what gives us free will, it truly is a gift. All things considered, the titans bear much resemblance to a totalitarian government; they want to have everything ordered according to their own visions, no free will, and they do not hesitate to slaughter millions (as Algalon also states) in order to uphold this vision. All eyes shall be opened! Let's fucking go.
I think the “mad titan” was not mad but remember that it was his tasks to be a HONOURABLE warrior and I think he was in the end trying to free/ awakened the world as he was disgusted by the truth about what the others was doing

I used to have a really stupid theory all the way back in The Burning Crusade/Wrath of the Lich King, that because of Azathoth, that the whole of Azeroth could be one big Old God. The way I see it, this could go two ways: 1 (most likely let's be honest): Sylvanas does something that deprives Azeroth herself of hope. Gripped with despair, the Emerald Dream *collapses* , and the forces of Nightmare overwhelm the world, raising the Black Empire from the depths once more. We see the face of Azeroth and tremble before the monster we've created as she pulls the sword out and wields it against us. 2: Somehow we stop Sylvanas and heal Azeroth instead. Azerite depowers with the wound closing and the Alliance and Horde have saved the world once more. N'zoth even dies and nothing bad happens as a result whatsoever. Yay team!
Pyro it’s the element of spirit that can cause life to manifest, perhaps in conjunction with the other elements. Azeroth was said to have been out of balance due to the titan inside. The element of spirit was almost consumed. If you have all elements in balance perhaps it allows life to thrive and grow out of control, leading to the sporemounds and perhaps old gods. The old gods on Azeroth were able to subjugate the elements, perhaps because they are the ultimate evolution of the elements
So if the old gods really come *from* Azeroth, if we need to truly "Battle For Azeroth" and save the planet... *Do we need to kill her?* Because if Argus is any indication, the planet doesn't exactly come out unscathed when they "hatch." Here I thought this whole time we had to kill the old gods to prevent them corrupting Azeroth, but maybe I had it totally backwards. Welp, I guess I'm joining the Twilight's Hammer cult, see y'all later.

Pyromancer, what i think is that, final boss of last raid will not be nzoth or sylvanas, but something what want prevent us from sealing nzoth once again, because as he said "ALL EYES SHALL BE OPENED!" Maybe its not mean that he is free, but that he is sealed by more seals then we think.
I always enjoy you stories :) . The thing is that the Chronicle Books doesn’t go 100% with the game because when started to work on the books the game was allready at WOD I think . They will revamp the world with the level sqush and fix the stories I hope, that are not like in Chronicle. For them the books are a new page, a starting point :) . This is my opinion :) . But to go with your story, what if we’re all in a dream everything is a dream and waking the creatures that build the drea, places, worlds are destroyed and the power the pantheon holds on us diminishes . Maybe everlasting life is actualy everlasting dream . Maybe the world is a world of desolation and death and maybe its better in the dream :) .

But I believe that Shadow (that is, all the traditionally "evil" things in the Warcraft universe, like disease, necromancy, famine, destruction, hatred, etc.) lies somewhere in between Death and Fel on the cosmic map from Chronicles. Why? Because both the demons of the Burning Legion AND the various Undead entities we've encountered all speak so fondly about "the Shadow". The Shadow seemed to be the unifying factor of evil in Warcraft before the Void was introduced into the lore, and I don't believe that Void and Shadow are the same. After all, why in the hell would members of the Burning Legion, who are supposed to be on a Burning Crusade to stop the Void, praise the Shadow if the Shadow and Void were the same thing?
Now, I know what you're probably wondering right about now. You're probably wondering, "Well, if Shadow represents the in-between of Death and Fel, what are the other in-betweens on Warcraft's cosmic map?" I think in between Fel and Light, we have Energy (fire, heat, glowing light as opposed to "holy" light). Its opposite, in between Void and Arcane, is Entropy (cold, icy darkness and emptiness). The opposite of Shadow, in between Life and Arcane, is Hope (goodness, love, nurturing, etc.). Now, in between Death and Void, we have Abyss, that pure black nothingness that Sylvanas Windrunner experienced after her suicide at the end of WotLK. And the opposite of Abyss, in between Life and Light, we have Paradise, which would be similar to the Emerald Dream but better and incorruptible.
This reminds me of Azathoth from the Cthulhu mythos saga.
Essentially, all of reality is a dream that Azathoth is having and when he wakes, it will all be snuffed out. The Elder Gods/ Outer Gods/ etc role is to prevent Azathoth from waking until the appointed time.
Nyarlathotep is principally responsible for keeping Azathoth asleep. So...who is Nyarlathotep in WoW, who keeps Azeroth dreaming?

Did the Titans build the planets around Argus and and Azeroth? Notice how when they used the dead Argus soul to grab Sargeras he was extremely afraid. Fear.... it is what drives us all.

At around 20:00 you talk about life unbound including rot and decay and all that. Remember that failed experiment we saw earlier in the expansion? Namely G'huun. It was rot, it was decay, it was blood. Maybe they tried to somehow create something that could create life and failed miserably.
I find it super interesting what you were talking about with Life Unbound resulting in endless decay. For me it immediately brought to mind lore from Warhammer 40k, 1 of the 4 major Chaos Gods is Grandfather Nurgle.. He essentially represents entropy, endless decay, pestilence, and disease. His favorite past times are inventing various new diseases and poxes to "gift' to mortals and admiring his horrific gardens of pestilence, muck, and rot. The real kicker that I found so interesting is that when a mortal suffering from disease or decay pledges their loyalty and soul to Grandfather Nurgle becoming corrupted by chaos , Nurgle gifts those mortals with a release from all pain and immortality so that they may endlessly decay from the various diseases they are afflicted with. An interesting parallel to the end result of life that is unbound yet immortal stuck in and endless loop of decay, for the servants of Nurgle it all spirals down to becoming rotted and bloated corpses, infested with parasites, pestilence, and disease... slowly withering away for eternity, perfect representations of death yet unable to die. I am an avid reader of HP Lovecraft, and have been following you, and your theories for a long time. Pretty much anytime an old great one is referenced in something, I zoom over to learn as much as I can and enjoy the new interpretation of them, luckily I was a big fan of warcraft already. The Outer Gods in Lovecraftian literature are often called the children of Azathoth, the dreamer. But, one in particular, Nyarlathotep, is closer to the incarnation of Azathoth's will. Azathoth the sleeper, exists in their own meager reality, and within their own dream as a horrid, indescribable mass. However, their consciousness essentially manifests in Nyarlathotep (and possibly the outer gods.) I really like your idea of the old gods being Azeroth's dreams. Because what did they do? They tunneled straight into Azeroth's core, they dug to the Titan soul, and for what? I would say to wake her up. And when the Titan's ripped out Y'shaarj , they panicked. The "damage" to Azeroth was too great. why would they be so concerned for Azeroth? Compassion? I think not. They feared that the damage done to Azeroth by the removal of Y'shaarj would wake her up. The Titan's are aware of the eldritch truth and fear the destruction of their reality with the waking of Azeroth. The end of the dream. So they weave an intricate plot to ensure that Azeroth never wakes, that Azeroth's eldritch truth never comes to fulfillment and ends their world. "All eyes shall be opened." Azeroth will wake up.

if we take the void literally to be space since the light is literal light to an extent, the void lords might be able to exert minor force on things in the void of space, perhaps the movement of molecules and such to get Brownian motion to make life forms

the old shaman quest lines where you had to do quests for each elemental force and get your totems, at the end of the 4 elements, you'd do a quest for the spirit of life as well... it was a "fifth element" or quintessence, if you will

- 4:30 The pantheon had to sever the Legion's connection to the Argus world soul in order to prevent their armies from just regenerating in the twisting nether. The Legion had used Argus' soul as a power source for this for eons one can only assume. To stop this the Pantheon literally drew his soul out of the planet and straight to The Seat of The Pantheon. *You're pretty much fighting a used-up husk of a soul, **_not_** a physical body.* Once Argus' soul was vanquished, they used the last of remnants of it to imprison Sargeras.

If Azeroth is the Titan of creation, who created everything, and the Titans are keeping her asleep so she doesn't awaken because 'there can be no re-creation without destroying the original' then the Void Lords themselves are her creations. Perhaps the Old Gods are her way of trying to break free from the unnatural imprisonment placed upon her by the other Titans. If she was to awake and destroy everything in an act of creation, it would make sense the Sargeras would seek to awaken her in order to complete his mission to destroy all life to keep the Void Lords from gaining followers. Perhaps when he stabbed the planet it wasn't about killing her as much as awakening her or forcing us to awaken her by saving her.

Weaken means to free something.
Wake means to wake Azeroth herself.
Kill means..well...to make her finally die and move to the next step.

For me, who happens to love Lovecraft's works, I'm happy to see that World of Warcraft is becoming one of my favorite games because of transforming out of some "Good vs Evil" a.k.a Alliance vs Horde into an ultimate Lovecraftian story/univerese. Right now, the way world of warcraft is going lorewise and through cinematics and all the stuff, it feel like the game is becoming my lucid dream made manifest.
Absolutely true, if life is left unchecked it will consume all and turn in on itself. If you see the animals on Draenor wrapped up in the vines trying desperately to escape but life wont let it. Perfect quote from Jurassic Park, "life finds a way." I think light is very much connected with life and also cannot be left unchecked. If Azeroth has taken in all this life spirit, she may never wake up. I don't think, even though Sargeras turned and growled at us, was he mad at us but mad that we helped the titans trap him because he was trying to awaken Azeroth and we need him. We can't do it on our own.
I think you hit the nail on the head with the old gods being manifestations of azeroths madness. It actually makes so much sense and would explain a lot. Kinda far fetched but what if n’zoth or however it’s spelled is a self aware manifestation and how he and sylvanas keep saying how our eyes will be opened and shit like that is a foreshadow for re-origination because they are planning to awaken Azeroth? Idk if that comes across as clear as it did in my head but I wrote this on the fly but I think that might be a possibility and “Death”and the awakening of Azeroth are one and the same.
You just got me thinking now :)... My thought process... I'm asuming that All these deities below are actually Aspects of Universe itself, so they can manifest themselves as a beings or as an aspects.
- First there was Void (Chaos)
- Then from that Void, reality came into existance (i.e. Azeroth among aother things)
- After some time Emerald dream appeared (Why? Because if we know that Azertoh dreams, also by that extension, other immature Titans do the same and every dream should collide to one point called Emerald dream)
- Also another aspect emerged from Void and it was called Shadowlands
- And finally we have Elune herself
Now, if we for a sake of argument say that Elune and Shadowlands were in a sort of a relationship (I'll come to that), light was created i.e. Naru.
So why those two? In Greek mithology Nyx (Night, it's refered as a she) and Darkness (Or Erebus,it is refered as a he) had many gen.2 Deities, among them were heavens/light and Day, also Death, Strife (Which could mean Disorder), dreams, sleep and Aging. Im just puting important ones to the WoW universe, also there are retribution, blame etc... If you look at Cosmology map from Crhonice, you can see that certain aspects are behind Shadowlands and emerald dream respectively.
Now if you look at Shadowladns and reality, their relationship. You get Old Gods.
So why those two now? In Greek mit. You have Gaia (Earth) and Tartatus (The Abyss), their creation was only one thing and that was Typhon. Now Typhon was a monstrous serpentine giant, and most deadly creature. So he tried to overthrow Zeus for the supremacy of the cosmos, but Zeus finaly won but with the help of Thunderbolts. So in the end Typhon was casted into Tartarus. Does this sound very familiar to someone from WoW :) ???
And finally, lets look at Reality and Emerald dream, you get Titans obviously.
Gaia and Uranus had also children and one of them is Pontus (Water) and another ones are Titans, obviously...
Regarding Pontus, there are 2 differents stories, one is that he had no father and came from Gaia, so he was born without coupling. And another one is that he is son of Aether (Light) and Gaia (Earth)
You said somewhere in your video that clashing of light and void resulted in creation of titan essences, and they were thrown to planets. this could actualy be it... Water represents primordial deity of Gen.2 and after some time on earth it got consciousness (Just like Titans,both stories actualy work for them).

The old god quote "her heart is a crater and we have filled it" makes much more sense now. when the old gods are part of azeroth maybe her literal heart is/ was what we know today as the heart of Y'Sharrj. Which was filled to the brim with old god energy. And left over is a crater -the malestrom/well of eternity that was filled first by water, then by deathwing, an old-god-connected junk of flesh that now lays where her heart should've been. in my head deathwing died exactly where he was supposed to be (by his old god masters) to "fill" the hole in her chest. And become something like a heart transplant for Azeroth.

Good choice, man. I just resubbed for the latest patch and it's nothing but timegated daily/weekly chores and RNG gear lottery. I've already stopped playing. Doesn't even feel like a game with progression anymore. Just a checklist of tasks dictated by weekly resets.
Love listening to the theories :) heres one for you I read the two traveler books recently about arom thorne and a diamond sword that hes putting together to save the light. Theres a couple bits in the second book that were real interesting. I actually read them because of Accolon, btw id love to see what you two could put together lol. Mueh'zala says to him our battle is yet to come... But it will come child, it will come. And if you lose that battle Mueh'zala feasts on all of azeroth, all of azeroth, all of azeroth... His form is shadow and it is always shifting and indistinct. Aside from a giant eyeball we always see n'zoth as a cloud of black with a reaching tentacle.

Basically, yes. As far as I know, Void Lords aren't "very" powerful once they manage to get summoned, or cross over to our heroes' plane of existence.
Cannot forget Dimensius, however. Mad lad devoured the Ethereal's homeworld to manifest himself and he was barely a challenge to defeat.
So call it what you want..void lords...void gods...void itself. Eh. They're hinted to be far far more powerful than what we've seen so far.

If Azeroth is really capable of dream ultimatly everything(or by pure thinking generate reality) it would make sense for the pantheon to let her sleep. Because Azeroth would alone be capable of the powers that the other titans have. She could create and shape life like Eonar, could forge worlds like Khaz'goroth, could control the timeflow.... As Sylvanas said "That will change everything"
I was thinking .. the old god can be related to the void lords. One of the main issues the void lords have is being able to fully manifest over here in our reality or realm.. perhaps giving the old gods the “gift” of flesh was the only way to spread their influence without having to channel insane amounts of power and energy to keep them where they are

Malygos falls to mortal hands right before Ulduar, Deathwing falls to mortal hands during the Dragon Soul, Ysera falls to mortal hands in the events leading up to Emerald Nightmare, Nozdormu as Murazond falls to mortal hands during the End Time. I know this will probably get buried but i figured its the best playce to put it.
On the topic of the birth of titans and wether they are born outside of aplanet or if a planet is build around them i just realized that all of lore always stated that golganneth is the son of eonar and amanthul. He is the only titan that has named "parents" and so one have to assume that titans are able to create(?) a new titan. Given the theorie pyro brings forth in this video it seems to me that titan-essences/spirits are being forged first to then build a planet around them. Dunno where im going with this but i just find it odd that no one ( not even pyro) has ever picked up on this detail.

Guild wars 1 &2 lore wise is a much stronger game with a huge emphasis on story.

There's a difference between the "Voidlords" we've fought in game and the "Void Lords" in the chronicle. I know it's silly but the space is important and they're different beings.
Dimensius was a shard of the new Void Lords, check WoWPedia.
That being said, you're otherwise right. Voidlords that warlocks summon _are_ different, as are Void Gods.
first issuse with this is in chronicle volume one its states that the titans were just there .. it describes how naaru are created then follows up with how the titans were just around inside planet slumbering and all of a sudden awoke and where as the naaru where trying to safeguard life the titans embarked on a different journey searching for their kind. but the last line in that paragraph is rather intreseting ..." This Grand, far reaching voyage would "One" day alter the course of creation and shape the destiny of all living things" ... it seems the titans are up to something and it kinda proves that azeroth is the titan of creation

I also thought about some things Algalon says; "there is partial corruption in the planets life-support systems, aswell as complete corruption in most of the planets defense mechanisms". I wonder what the purpose of these life-support systems and defense mechanisms are, since they are obviously titanic creations. He also says "perhaps it is your imperfection, that which grants you free will" i.e. the curse of flesh? If that is what gives us free will, it truly is a gift. All things considered, the titans bear much resemblance to a totalitarian government; they want to have everything ordered according to their own visions, no free will, and they do not hesitate to slaughter millions (as Algalon also states) in order to uphold this vision. All eyes shall be opened! Let's fucking go.
I think the “mad titan” was not mad but remember that it was his tasks to be a HONOURABLE warrior and I think he was in the end trying to free/ awakened the world as he was disgusted by the truth about what the others was doing

I used to have a really stupid theory all the way back in The Burning Crusade/Wrath of the Lich King, that because of Azathoth, that the whole of Azeroth could be one big Old God. I like your theories, they are always interesting! Maybe abit crazy at times but we all need more madness... Y'Shaarj: "Eyes are the windows to the soul. Shatter them forever."
Is it possible that the old myths are reuploading for us (the players)... The more I look into the old myths of Earth, the more I see parallels to WoW lore. That humans actually assumed the world and planetary bodies were in fact alive, the Gods...
The way I see it, this could go two ways:
1 (most likely let's be honest): Sylvanas does something that deprives Azeroth herself of hope. Gripped with despair, the Emerald Dream *collapses* , and the forces of Nightmare overwhelm the world, raising the Black Empire from the depths once more. We see the face of Azeroth and tremble before the monster we've created as she pulls the sword out and wields it against us.
2: Somehow we stop Sylvanas and heal Azeroth instead. Azerite depowers with the wound closing and the Alliance and Horde have saved the world once more. N'zoth even dies and nothing bad happens as a result whatsoever. Yay team!
Pyro it’s the element of spirit that can cause life to manifest, perhaps in conjunction with the other elements. Azeroth was said to have been out of balance due to the titan inside. The element of spirit was almost consumed. If you have all elements in balance perhaps it allows life to thrive and grow out of control, leading to the sporemounds and perhaps old gods. The old gods on Azeroth were able to subjugate the elements, perhaps because they are the ultimate evolution of the elements
So if the old gods really come *from* Azeroth, if we need to truly "Battle For Azeroth" and save the planet...

Damn, I really enjoyed this video. I usually do, sometimes I think SOME (very few of) your theories are a bit far-fetched, but this Eonar=bad thingy, the Azeroth dreaming... It seems very promising, exciting and cool at the same time, love it!

Pyromancer, what i think is that, final boss of last raid will not be nzoth or sylvanas, but something what want prevent us from sealing nzoth once again, because as he said "ALL EYES SHALL BE OPENED!" Maybe its not mean that he is free, but that he is sealed by more seals then we think.

The thing is that the Chronicle Books doesn’t go 100% with the game because when started to work on the books the game was allready at WOD I think .
They will revamp the world with the level sqush and fix the stories I hope, that are not like in Chronicle. For them the books are a new page, a starting point :) . This is my opinion :) .
But to go with your story, what if we’re all in a dream everything is a dream and waking the creatures that build the drea, places, worlds are destroyed and the power the pantheon holds on us diminishes . Maybe everlasting life is actualy everlasting dream . Maybe the world is a world of desolation and death and maybe its better in the dream :) .
So there was a leak for next expansion being called Awakenings. It sounds better than Age of Darkness and actually makes sense now.
