My dream from childhood has always been to travel the world at the age of 25 due to a retina problem I lost most of my eye sight but still I wanna pursue my dreams Watching these videos really motivates me to run after my dreams 🎭 I wanna be an inspiration for others through my channel 💙
I was born in Playa del Carmen and I spend my childhood for 13 years there, this is so nostalgic man thanks for this ❤ Btw: 2:24 I miss the *Voladores de Papantla* they are so cool in the act
The vibrant tapestry of Mexico comes alive in this captivating travel video! From the bustling markets to the ancient Mayan ruins, every frame unveils the rich cultural mosaic that defines this enchanting country. The rhythmic beats of mariachi music, the flavorsome street food, and the breathtaking landscapes paint a vivid picture of Mexico's diversity. This video has ignited my wanderlust, inspiring dreams of exploring the colorful streets of Guanajuato or relaxing on the pristine beaches of Tulum. Mexico, with its warm hospitality and captivating charm, is undoubtedly a must-visit destination that promises a journey filled with unforgettable experiences. ¡Viva México! 🇲🇽
Two free things that you can do in Playa that i really liked that you didnt cover (and if you go from time to time might enjoy) On the south side of Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall there is a road named "Abraira de Arriba". Literally you walk out of the mall and you are on it. If you walk left down it you walk down a path that has fences on either side. If you look through the north fence it seems like you are a really good chance to see some Mexican Wildlife. We saw Agouti, Coati & Peccari. We werent there very long. 2 weeks later we were back and took friends and saw them there again. Also, if you continue down that same road and take the second right onto "Bahia del Espiritu Santo" road you will come across a small park that has mayan ruins in it (only about 200ft down the road). They arent the most spectacular, but they are so close to town. Iguana's will be hanging around too. I believe this is a private road, and you need to walk past a guard box. There are plenty of hotels down there, so just walking with confidence will get you past.
I remember you from exploring Arizona. I watched you a few years ago before I bought my place in Phoenix. Now I'm looking in the Riviera Maya for the next condo. I'm subscribing and watching you again. Thank you for all the info you provide.
The Mayan Riviera is indeed a paradise. Unfortunately, there is a serpent (or two) in this garden. Travelers need to be aware of unscrupulous businesses that take advantage of unwary travelers, specially those who don't speak Spanish. Beware of anyone who tells you that theirs is the ONLY service that can take you to any destination. The small boat owners offering transportation to Cozumel or Isla Mujeres are some of the worst. The public ferries are the fastest, safest and most economical way to travel to these islands. ONLY BUY TICKETS AT THE FERRY TICKET SALES WINDOWS and not from scalpers POSING AS "TOUR GUIDES"! TAXIS, especially at the airport are another ripoff. Most drivers are honest but the Union (Sindicato de Taxistas) is a criminal organization, robbing not only passengers but their own drivers as well. Corrupt local officials all turn a blind eye. The bus line ADO offers affordable transportation from the Cancun airport to most places on the Mayan Riviera.
Rrrrrr, is called Quinta Avenida, no mexican/latin person there calls is 5th Avenue ( that's the translation for it but no one who lives there would know if you ask for 5th ave ) 😅😅😅😅😅😅😂😅😂😅😂😅
Great info. However, I do have to say I was not impressed with a lot of the animal exhibits at Xcaret. For example. .the huge manitee was in a tiny, tiny pool...swimming back and forth...back and forth. Of course there was the pool with the dolphin rides...if that's your thing. The butterfly exhibit was beautiful, as well as the bird exhibit. Be aware..we went on a bus excursion. We only had 2 opportunities to leave the park....late afternoon and late evening. The experience was ok. I guess it depends on if you want to pay extra for the underwater helmet thing or the water rafting for example. They want you to make sure you have eco-friendly sunscreen if you plan to swim. Pretty expensive.
Avenida? You didn't specify which avenida. The main shopping and nightlife avenida or avenue in the video is the Quinta Avenida or 5th avenue. All the streets running north to south or vice-versa are avenidas in Playa del Carmen. 😊
Thank you. But your videoframes per second is too low, I found this a little hard to watch. Maybe I have been on TH-cam too long and need to close the laptop.
That place has changed so much! Watch your valuables and dont trust anyone, including hotel staff even in 5+ star resorts! Family was recently there a few months ago, and experienced the ever present corruption at their 5+ star resort. A few hotel staff and local authorities were in on it, and the poor person had to spend a night in jail and pay a fine due to a “local” whom put a cell phone in his bag at the resort, and claimed it was “stolen”. Family said that they should have never left their bag alone, and found it odd when they went back to get it; the women just starred at them oddly until the phone rang in his bag, and he went in to find someone else’s phone. Women then started yelling in Spanish and then it got worse when a hotel staff member arrived and told him to come w him - “it will be ok”. They tried to get him to sign a statement that was already written up; then a police car showed up and hauled him off to the local station. Family ended up getting kicked out of hotel - which they are members of that chain; and had to go get money to get him released. Horrible experience and not worth visiting this part of Mexico!
You can’t say “local food” and then go eat at Señor Frogs which is an American tourist restaurant lol you will never find fajitas in a local food place there
It's a stretch of some miles walk, no cars on the street along the way, there are crossing streets where there are cars crossing the street but not on the actual quinta avenida street
One of the things you don't want to do , is shopping everything is 4 to 5 times more expensive then the local prices in cancun, mercado 23 is the best if you want to stuff, mercado 28 sucks all sellers are annoying they have a selling technique that will feed you app right away and will make you feel uncomfortable, I've been to that market 2 times and I wasn't there for more then 20 minutes, every body knows each other and they fallow you, trying to sell. So parque palapas o mercado 23 are the best options for shopping,

All right
We had to deal with them 4 days ago. Disgusting bunch...
Well said and some good information there
Great video but many of the places you are recommending are not mentioned by name..
The main strolling street is called “Quinta Avenida”. Not just “Avenida”. It’s 5th Avenue.

The Tulum ruins, I thought, were incredibly boring. Rio Secreto was amazing.
Hi how far is this from tulum
20min
Thank you. But your videoframes per second is too low, I found this a little hard to watch. Maybe I have been on TH-cam too long and need to close the laptop.
Through the whole video or just certain spots?
@@IslandHopperTV I think it varies, some parts seem OK...but check out 4:38, it's very noticeable there.
What is the name of the location 5:16?
Will love to know too

What scammer?
Any person whom uses common sence would know this with out anyone telling you !
You didn’t mention the names of the restaurants you ate at
You got the life
You can’t say “local food” and then go eat at Señor Frogs which is an American tourist restaurant lol you will never find fajitas in a local food place there
What do you recommend?
avenida just means avenue so where exactly is the "Walk around Avenida" lol
Quinta Avenida

25 bucks to visit a Frida khalo museum, with no art by her, great tip!
any "tequila tasting" on the strip is just a scam.
Yeah there is some high prices around some places for sure
Hustle
typical american tourist tour nothing authentic, only toursit scams lol
