Chile is such a hilarious amalgamation when it comes to Fire appliances!! I've seen French appliances using British two tones and a federal Q, an American appliance using the German martinhorn and federal Q, and now this one doesn't even say "BOMBEROS" on it and it has a German flag on it. Hilarious!! :joy:

This Company was founded by German immigrants in 1851, currently it maintains the traditional colors in memory of its founders.

The truck shown in the video belongs to a fire company founded by German immigrants in 1851. That is why it is written "Feuerwehr"and bears all the German symbols to maintain the tradition of its founders.

why exactly has that fire truck a national war flag "Reichskriegsflagge" at the bumper?

This was a fire station formed by German immigrants in 1851
      "Zweite Deutsche Feuerwehrkompagnie Stadt Valparaiso"

They are still in service from 1851 to the present.

@@emergenciasbomberosrm I'm well aware of the background, of immigrants from various nations forming fire companies and them still being strongly related to their home country. But a national / federal flag would be appropriate, not a national war flag. That kind of flag is commonly used by extreme right-wingers and modern-day Nazis love using them as well. In that aspect, the use of such a flag on a foreign fire apparatus seems quite a bit offensive

@@EnjoyFirefighting i understand your comment. but in this case it is not a "Nazi" flag, but rather has a more historical background. Valparaíso has always been an important port and has received illustrious visits over time such as princes, kings and presidents. It was normal that when German or British warships came they would visit the fire companies of their compatriots and give gifts like these flags and it has always been a tradition to carry the flags on the vehicles. Another case from Valparaíso is the 11th fire company founded by the British. Their vehicles carry the Union Jack and the Royal Navy flag.
