I watch all of these great purse vids and I’m thinking vinyl wallpaper would be fab for these too! They’d be stain and waterproof!

    Sherry,
You are my SHERO!!!!! You are soooo clever and talented. I made some beautiful purses. I’m learning as I go and each purse is getting neater and prettier than the first. Thank you for being so detailed and wonderful to watch!

I made this today! I can’t believe I made my own purse! And it’s super cute! I made it out of heavy weight gift wrap paper and reinforced the bottom, straps and sides with clear contact paper. I love it.
There was a learning curve. Like I learned that you really have to test fit the inside-bottom chipboard before you pour glue all over it. I learned the hard way when it was too big and I had to use my bone folder to jam it down into the corners. But one can’t know these things until one makes mistakes, right?
I sincerely thank you for hours of entertainment today during the quarantine. The time passed quickly and my mind and hands were busy. It was good therapy for troubled times. ❤️

The Posh Paper Lady Yeah, I did. I made the simplified version with the flap. It certainly was simplified. I made it in half the time as the larger purse. I ordered some brads and purse feet from Amazon so I will await the arrival of those before I decorate it. Thanks! I’ll make the clutch purse next. 🙂

Absolutely gorgeous! Sherry, I respect your dedication to bringing us such outstanding next level crafting. The purses are so unique and lovely. I was surprised when you stopped posting measurements on your videos and decided that somehow, there was content that was being used by others without you being credited. I am sorry that this is the reason for you changing your practice, but it is your right to do so. It is wrong for others to do that and I think of it as stealing. I respect you all the more for standing up to this and protecting your content. You are right, you have put so much time and effort to bring us good quality projects and the care you take is evident every time I watch your videos. (Sometimes more than once.) Please continue to bring us your talent and knowledge. I have learned so much from you. Thank you!

I feel like such a klutz! I’ve made 2 things but they’re really not very good. You make it look so easy! I’m gonna keep trying. I enjoyed the process. Still love watching the videos though! It’s harder now without the written numbers. But I totally understand! You do all the work and they just waltz in and steel it! It’s happened to me several times over. And it doesn’t get any easier! But you’re the leader!

I'm so glad you don't have your measurements listed because it truly makes the people who want to learn watch your entire thought process. You are a fantastic teacher and the quality of your work is outstanding! FYI: the blue slider on the bottom of the eyelet setter could be set to give accurate placement for the holes. Thanks for all you do! 😘

Hello Sherry. I’m watching this one rather late since I haven’t followed you all that long. I am going back and catching up with your projects. I’m adoring this time with you. I loved that you spoke about your hard work and how gracefully you explained you concerns and decisions. My question is....I have a small group of ladies that meets once or twice a month at my house to craft. Sometimes we do our own projects but often I will start them off with a project they will enjoy. We have done everything from rock painting to paper crafts, crochet to a jewelry project. My question is...are you comfortable with me playing one of your videos for our group and supplying pre-cut “ingredients” for us to follow Alison. I would be giving them a written list of sizes to do at home. Most of these ladies do not craft much on their own....many have believed they are not creative or crafty. I have shown them they are far more talented than they ever imagined. My mother used to tell me often...”if you can read, you can do anything...from cooking to building an engine!” So far, she has been right. 😁 she was a gourmet, professional quality seamstress, home improvement pro, brilliant lady. So I grew up watching her work very hard on her designs and I admire and respect your same unique gifts. Let me know how much sharing you are comfortable with me using for my group. BTW....we call ourselves the 5G’s....Glitter, Glue, Goodies, Giggles and Gals!! Cheesy but fun! Lol.

Opps...some typos. “follow along NOT follow Allison! Why would we follow Allison when we can follow Sherry! 😂😂😂😂

You are very talented and generous. Thank you for your amazing tutorials and sharing them with us. I especially like your video on pricing and knowing your worth. Some people don't understand the importance for charging for their hard work and time put in to their creations. I know as a jewelry maker, I do know my artistic is worth more than minimum wage per hour that I put into my work, so, I charge accordingly and people who value my worth pay for it. Thanks again, keep up the great work and I imagine your channel will continue to grow. I can't believe how many videos you pump out!

As a businesswoman I can agree with you on your "own designs" . . recently a person copied a design of mine and announced it was her's. In business since 1967 it's hard to believe this could happen, but it did. Most of my designs are copyright - this person was sued and fined over $500 for her actions - hope she learned a lesson! Sharing and inspiring others does not mean "copy".... NY-USA

Roberta, thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I never thought I would encounter such a problems with thieves as I have. I was raised that if it isn’t mine I don’t take it. It’s crazy how certain channels wait for you to do the work and then they jump in and take it. And then all of sudden they have selective amnesia and can’t remember where they got the idea or the tutorial from. I never knew women like this existed until I joined TH-cam. It’s sad that when asked to stop, they become aggressive and borderline threatening! It has been an eye opening experience for me. One day soon, I intend to publicly confront this issue and out the offending channels. Thank you so much for your support.

I happened to see a reinforcement item, I believe on amazon and I was just curious if it would be a good idea to do...I love all of your work and I’m studying your craft so I can try to make some of these when I feel I’ve learned enough and maybe I can make some items for my family to start off and once I feel confident in what I’m making I can begin selling some items. I don’t know what other crafters do and I wouldn’t knock anyone else’s talent; but I personally feel that you are gifted and a Guru at your craft...thank you for allowing me to learn from you. Hi Sherry. Just curious as to what the typical gsm weight is for the papers that you use to make your awesome purses?

  • @projectcraftroom2305

Can I ask what you don’t use some kind of silver eyelets to reinforce your handle holes?

    • @ThePoshPaperLady
      @ThePoshPaperLady  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hey there, regular sized eyelets don’t fit through medium weight chipboard. Also grommets interfere with the flatness and make it impossible to feed the ring through the hole. Just because I don’t use them doesn’t mean that you guys shouldn’t play around with them or other alternatives that you think might work better. 😀😀

From what I have seen, you are kind enough show how to make your creations step by step in your videos? Then you actually allow people to make them and sell them in their craft fairs? All you ask is that no one take your ideas and call them their own. That is more than generous; the other Utubers then steal your ideas and call them their own in their videos? Am I understanding that correctly? That is horrible and I think they should be called out. I for one would not follow, watch or support in any way a person who would do that. If I am following one of them I would like to know. That is evil. 😔

Good Morning, you have nearly summarized my position accurately. The true crux of the problem is other TH-camrs who allow me to do all of the work, then they swoop in, steal the work of my tutorials(sometimes giving credit, sometimes not). My position is and always will be that no “content creator” should be shopping other channels for content to steal. They should be true content creators or else they should be doing project shares(not tutorials). Basically, I just want other TH-cam channels to leave mine alone. Thank you for getting it and thank you for your support😀

Sherry 110% support your decision on the written tutorials. You put some much effort into all your creations and the exceptional attention to detail must take you hours and to have someone steal your designs without so much as an acknowledgement of who the original designer was is so unacceptable and I am sure their products would not have even 10% of the level of craftsmanship that your products have. Whilst I love all your projects one of the main reasons I keep coming back to your channel is because you do some much to support and promote other crafters by showcasing their creations, your encouragement to all of us is amazing. People like yourself are sadly few and far between but please don’t ever stop being you and keep doing what your are doing as it will start a ripple and hopefully create a tidal wave of next level crafters who do acknowledge and support each other and lift others up rather than rip people off. Happy crafting.

Well, I've finally got around to making this bag! It made me appreciate what it takes to put one together! You should have seen me with the tape and the hot glue and asking, "How did she get that in there? I still need work with those handles though but I love my bag! Thanks for the tutorial!!

Another great demonstration and l understand your comments at the start of your video. I will make this bag in the week, hopefully in the evening when the weather is cooler. I have a question, what is the gsm of the paper you use, or perhaps somebody reading this might let me know in England the weight of the paper packs are in gsm and l notice in America it is lbs. Just need a cleaved person to tell me how to convert. Kind regards Sandra

Thanks again Sherry for being who you are and sharing your wonderful talents with every single project you create. You are amazing and I love all those bags you've been creating and boy was I waiting for this tutorial too, LOL! Love the color choices on this DP and I'm sure the recipient will enjoy it just as much too! Posh Paper Lady is my #1 choice for all those paper bags, I can't wait to start making all 3 sizes and hopefully get on it real soon. I want to make them for the upcoming holidays to give to my family and decide yet what I will be filling it up with ! Can't wait to see what you get coming up next I always get excited when I see a new post of yours. Too bad we weren't close I would be banging on your door everyday to craft. LOL!
