    Good video. Glad to see the blue shirt and not a white shirt 🫡

    The etd is correct. 3:10 central IS 4:10 eastern. Hey I appreciate the shout out. Watching in my hotel room at onboarding . Tomorrow's the big day, Thursday. Test day!

    Couldn’t imagine packing up all my stuff every time when I went home..hope the person your slip seating with is clean..hope they don’t have bedbugs or any weird smells lol

      Oh it wasnt that bad. I only slip seated for a year. We can refuse the truck for those reasons and that driver will get disciplined.

    I’ve been with Walmart about as long as you. That rug in front of the bed is genius! I’m gonna start doing that.

    • @ThisTruckingLife

      Thanks! It's an easy way to keep the floor clean. Also find a skinny runner rug to go between the seats.

    I drive for McKee…aka little Debbie and slip seat as of now. The mattress topper description I sent in another comment is an Amazon purchase that makes the bed a whole lot more comfortable if you’re interested in it!

    You can’t ask for a different truck? Those mirrors are really small

    Are your days 12-14 hrs usually? WM ever run you up against that 14? Gotta be up and at em when your 10 is up? My buddy from us foods is on his 4 th wk here in Fl. I want to come aboard someday.

    • @ThisTruckingLife

      Walmart is so laid back. It's different here. You have total control of how hard you want to run. You tell them the time you have on your clock. I'm sure some people might run less hours but I'd bet if they did it everyday they'd get a talking to. I usually do 12 to 13 but if I'm doing several stops I can get right up to 14..don't forget we have lots of parking options.

      @@ThisTruckingLife Cool. The dude I know I think is doing 4-5 stops a ni. He's still getting his routine together. You pass that pre trip first time round? You got what 25 min or so? Hope you don't mind me peppering you with questions. I've been driving with US Foods 19 yrs. It's time to make some real $

    • @ThisTruckingLife

      @duckbrew yeah I believe it's 30 minutes. Do t get hung up on it though it's just like it was in cdl school. Nothing cracked bent or broken...Yada Yada. I don't mind the questions! It's a big deal to make the switch.

      @@ThisTruckingLife you're a good man. Thanks for your time! I'm on the lookout now for a slot. I know 2 former USF drivers that are there now.

      Do you have any recommendations on what to do or know the closet DC besides Elwood near me

    • @ThisTruckingLife

      For now the best you can do is search every couple of weeks. You could also try the spring valley 6092 location.

    • @gbhopkins3

      I actually applied for a different location and and got a call from another, so worse case I would recommend applying to the closest open and if they call tell them.

    I'm curious why you reefer to yourself as a rookie Walmart driver you had a certain amount of experience to get the job , obviously not a rookie perhaps a new employee, learning there system, but not a rookie

    • @ThisTruckingLife

      I've only been driving 7 years I still consider myself a rookie but definitely here at Walmart since there's guys that have been here 30 years.

    I’ll have 30 months experience in August 2024. Then I heard that time with a mentor doesn’t count. Do you know if that’s true?

    • @ThisTruckingLife

      That is a good question. I'd still start the application process. Even though you were with a mentor if you were driving then that's experience

  • @butchurbear8059

    Question I did the application and 30 mins later got a background request and filled that out. Is that standard? What would happen after?

    • @ThisTruckingLife

      Yes it's normal. Keep an eye on your email and visit the portal often. Your next step will be setting up a date and time for the phone call interview!
