@@TheNovaJohn I have the first year of production of this machine. It's a 1971 it's red and tan, the dash is tan and it has the bull horns on it, one year only color scheme, very cool. I just have to touch up the red and it will fetch good $$$.
Ohh lemme see it! Yea here, it wont fetch crap, last year, no snow! Now, if it starts snowing again, then maybe. Big issue is mine have no electric start!
I cleaned up a blower last winter mechanical and cosmetics. Did it for the education of the workings. I donated it to our local Humane Society auction. They got $1200 CD.
Arch slime works really good for those leaky tires and rims. Just A really quick heads up on that tip trick to yah on that part of it. It's your stuff you do and use what you will though alright man. Only just A suggestion.,or should I say something that might help you out with those types of problems.,or issues in the future to on the cheap with out having to keep on buying and replacing tires all of the time to. Unless you just like to that is instead.
I use Flat-out, basically the same thing. They have a formulation for small equipment tires and it works well. I use very little at 1st then add more until things seal up. Best thing is a tube really. Most people regret sliming cuz its a mess and rots rims. Its rare for me to replace a tire, I'm cheap and lazy!
Hey Arch; what is your favorite potion for frozen engines? ATF + Acetone/Gasoline/Mineral Spirits/Diesel ?? I have my Dad's old boat motor on a stand now, starting the project to see if I can get it to run again, but it's frozen up. 1940 Johnson, 5 hp, twin cylinder 2-stroke. We don't have snow blowers down here, but I still find these things interesting. All the best!
I often show my mix of gas and tranny fluid. Usually its a 50/50 but I would make it thinner and use some really nice full synthetic stuff. Acetone evaporates too quick. Acetone is really good for things that are gummed up, if your 2 smoker is like that then try it or even mix with cheap lacquer thinner which has some acetone, alcohol an toluene as well. Mineral spirits is weak, great for cleaning cuz its safe and effective. Diesel is great for a soak and really gross stuff, as a 1st wash.
@@TheNovaJohn Thanks Arch! I mixed up a 2/3 mix of gasoline and synthetic Dexron V, and will let it soak til the weekend. I'm betting I'll have to pull the heads, and gently sledge hammer the cylinders off though, but lubing it all up ahead of time only makes it easier. I may get that cylinder boring test job out of this project, X2. I hope new oversize pistons are available. Searching for parts for an 80 yr old machine is a challenge!
Actually you can straighten those handle bars out with A long pry bar tool.,or A crow bar tool twisting it easy the opposite way of the band of the handle bars arch. So I've done it before myself man been there done it already man. I know it's possible to do it on those to Arch. I'm just stating facts on that part of it all. If you done that you could repaint again and resale it as A working machine to one of those Canadian people you said haven't seen one of those in years like that either. They could very own one you fixed just by very carefully bending those handle bars back the other way A little bit at a time until straightened back out again. It really can be done. And could make you some descent money by doing that tip trick to it. It's simpler than it looks really man. Just don't go crazy on the bending part of it and over do it.,or go really fast when doing take your time with that part of it. And you'll have successfully straighten them back evenly again.,or really close to even one instead.
Yea but then I can't part it out lol! I can fix it. If I take the bars off but where I live I would be lucky to sell it for $200. Not worth the effort, it doesn't run and we don't know the condition of the drive system, all of which would take time to go over. This is a complicated machine, Mine has issues and required a lot of work, check out those videos! It took a week or two. I would go broke lol. Considering mine is getting nice, it may be better that I keep the broken one for parts. I would like to do a "will it run" video and see what's going on with this one.
You can sale to those Canadian people that was looking for one those for their selves arch. Think about what you're saying first to. we're you live you can't get much for it. A item like that is hard to come by now days especially in Canada right man. So that means it's worth More than $200.00 all fixed up in fully working order again to. I'd sale it for $500.00 all fixed up and repainted to.
So are you trying say that you wouldn't be able to make your money back off it. And A little bit for your time fixing it backup again Arch? I myself really don't believe that one at all truthfully. Each to they're own opinions on things in life though right? Anyways it's your stuff you do what you will with it. I was only suggesting and trying to help you make A little bit of money back on something around your place was all. Especially those being rare and hard to find.,or to come bye as we'll to. That's all I was saying and the point I was getting at on the whole ordeal. Anyways like I said it's your stuff do whatever your going to do with it.,or feel like doing with it man. We all have issues and problems like those to deal with in life someway and somehow 👍 right.
A little bit of maintenance on these old snow blowers, and they work again
When I got it, the drive was borked, someone was in it and it was worn out.
I have two of these. So durable. Old Briggs are tough. I felt these were engineered to the hilt. Now everything is meant to break.
Sooo true!! I have a folder for the entire revamp on this machine and now I have a parts machine as well!
Good idea to get it out now, their saying it's gonna be a snowy winter.
Oh we will find out!!
Yea, I almost got lazy there for a hot minute lol

Hahaha,,, Your welcome!

Good job!! That's awesome!
Way to go!! We donate stuff too. Nothing like knowing a pet is doing well because of good deeds like yours.
It makes a great leaf blower I saw those few leafs coming out of chute
Hahahaha yea that might work
@@TheNovaJohn it probably would be a great idea to try out on this matter of leaf relief 🤣💪👍😎
Nice machine
Sweet, right!
