I will never forget the time my father and I stumbled upon a migration of these on a pitstop along a treeline behind our house. The entire tree was coated in monarch butterflies. One of those things I'm not sure I will ever witness again in my lifetime.
I don't know how to explain this. Last night I had a dream about the butterfly migration even though I have never seen it or heard of it. It was so vivid and spectacular and then i googled it and found this video. This is exactly what I saw and it made me feel giddy with happiness. Our planet is like a dream. It is spectacular and at time unbelievable.
Is this not one of the most awesome things you've ever seen? Thank you so much for sharing this!! I am working with a camp this summer and would like to share this with my students. I am sure they will love it too.
Thank you sooooo much for sharing this video Butterflies are my favorite!!!!! Also the song you chose How Great Thou Art is absolutely perfect and brings tears to my soul everytime I hear it and these little beauties are just another reflection of God . All we need to do is google the plants that they thrive on and start planting them around your house 🐛
This is a beautiful video, I'm watching this as I just released my last Monarch today it was a male I have captive-raised for many years and enjoy every step, I only take milkweed again leaf with an egg. To ensure they make it to flight. I get choked up when I think of what awaits his survival and that his off-spring makes it to Mexico and back natures true wonder
I have a sanctuary for them, lots of milk weed, i have find 2 plants that they go for, winter 🥶 almost kill one, but the other i put them in my patio, they still alive, the name of this plant ☘️ is Cuphea they get big with lots of small purple flowers, they need lots of sun 🌞 an water 💦 and watch the show, it's just amazing, I'm adding more flowers each year, l will post them when winter 🥶 is gone i live in central Florida and is very cold right now, i hope this was helpful for you butterfly butterflies lover's.
In 1847 John C. Fremont rode into a small valley in the Sierra foothills and was amazed that it was covered in so many Monarch butterflies that as they took flight, scared by the men and horses, the giant flying cloud completely blotted out the sun for almost an hour. The place was named 'Mariposa,' Spanish for butterfly. This year at their wintering grounds in Pacific Grove near Monterey, not one Monarch butterfly has shown up. 173 years and the white man has driven the Western Monarch to extinction. The saddest part is, very few people even give a damn.
