I really enjoy Rachel Hauck books. I have watched the first season of Sweet Magnolias, need to get back to that haha, but I really can't say that I enjoy Sheryl Woods books. I agree with your novella description, I do read them, but sometimes I feel like I'm left with what in the world just happened feelings! lol I am heading to look up My Refuge. Great recommendation. I loved the first sweet magnolia! Then book 2 I didn’t love but I wanted to read about Helen. I loved Helen so thought I’d love her story but hated it!! I think it was called feels like family! I threw my phone across the room! And the worst part is I own all of them cause I got them in an audible sale! So I can’t even give them away!

@ forget the swx scenes. I can skip those! It was the idea that everybody found it hilarious that she’s getting married. And that he’d even want to marry her after tricking him in to impregnating her!! All of it was so gross!!
