Ip Man went low to get out of Mikes hitting range witch forced Mike to use bad kicks, Mike countered by trying to throw him to reset the fight, but Ip Man used his low center of gravity to counter the throw, then Ip Man used his elbows to block the punches, but Mike found a way to break his guard. Mike realized that a prolonged fight may be dangerous so he went with the upper cut finisher, Ip Man also realized that a prolonged fight wouldnt be good so he went with kicking him in the nuts, Good reaction :D
Mike fractured his fingers during the blow sequence. I think in the bts clips someone said he actually carried through the sequence even after the fact. Also Mike practically clipped Donnie’s ear during another sequence. That was impressive since Donnie is insanely fast and I think second or third to Bruce Lee himself.

You guys didn't point out the real reason why Ip Man went into a pistol squat. Boxing is more than just big muscles and a strong arm, but the footwork on which the boxer plants his feet to manipulate every blow forward. Cutting the footwork is like removing the foundation of a castle. Oh and boxers can't kick The reason Ip Man went down is because boxers aren't taught to punch DOWN! It is also useless to a boxer to do that, so the next best way to hit Ip Man is to kick, which boxers don't do well. So when Mike kicked, Ip Man can intercept his leg and trip him or at least destabilize his footwork to try to cut his power. With his leg put out in the pistol squat, he can also rise and trip his leg, knee or even hit Mike's balls if possible depending on the situation. Basically Ip Man EXPLOITED the weakness of a boxer which refers nicely to your point about every style has ups and downs.
In an interview with Donnie Yen, Cantonese version, he mentioned that he was ready to use his legs if Mike forgot the fight sequence. That's how dangerous he was.

Boxing training required them to gain more weight and enhance their punch speed, while Wing Chun style try to counter them with most rational option, using their elbow or lower the their own centre point to aim opponent lower part of body and etc. One fight brutally while the other fight smartly, depend on what their physical condition could have offered.
As a martial artist donnie is my favourite he influenced mix martial art a lot he has a fusion martial art style he combined of jkd, tkd ,wing chun, taichi, wushu, BJJ, muay thai,kickboxing, judo, boxing, but tyson he is still had that dogness....
