Thanks for the shout out. You can actually see the underground portion of the station from a train speeding by. Just look closely for it. If you can get on a M3, sit in the front or back it will be easier.

What you said was an entrance to the underground level (10:45) I think is the manhole for employee current access to the underground station. It's not where 1960s (or earlier) passengers would go to get to the lower station. That passenger entrance was likely on the walls of the bridge. You can't see it in this video, but I used to see a portion of the walls that was sealed off with cement blocks -- seemed like 1970s construction, distinct from the old bridge. You see one of the walls at 11:30, but with all the current construction you can't see what I'm referring to. I wasn't around this station in its heyday, so there is some guesswork here.
I've seen TH-cam videos of the lower station, and you're right. Nothing I'd be brave enough to do.

The station was a hangout spot for gangs and there was fire at the Jamaica Bay trestle! That is why the line was abandon.

The underground was practically new. Because the old line was ground level and connected with the Rockaway Beach Branch

Wow I can’t believe some of the platform is still in tact. It’s too bad you can’t get up there. Would you ever do a station tour of the underground Woodhaven Boulevard/Atlantic Avenue Station on the LIRR?

You can if you want to get creative, you would just have to walk a couple blocks and climb the wall.

Goodmoring sir. Thank-you for making this great video about the Woodhaven Junction Station of the ex Long Island Rail Road Far-Rockaway Beach Branch and Atlantic Branch .Once again the MTA and the City. Has its solution to a problem of unreliable Bus service in the area of Transit desert 🏜 . Also lot's of Traffic on the roads in the areas of certain areas of Queens But unfortunately when little effort are taken. To try to improve people commute time. You are just letting others win who don't want this to happen. The Ex- Long Island Rail Road Far-Rockaway Beach Branch should be rebuild as Either a Subway 🚉 the to Rockaway Park or As Railroad or Light Rail from Manhattan Either Grand Central Madison or Penn Station 🚉. To JFK Airport the AirTrain is really needed due to limited amount of passengers space and additional costs to Penn Station to JFK Airport you can take the E to Suphin Blvd AirTrain But that would cost you around 11.00 also if you was to Te A to Howard Beach JFK AirTrain it would cost the same. Why not just rebuild the the line at the cost of Either same price but just have a one seat ride option to JFK Airport or to School or to people Jobs or important places in Queens or wherever. This isn't the 1950's or 1960's anymore plus everybody who live in New York City dose'nt own cars. Transit is important. Thank-you for listing sir

Well now it is going to be a walking path park like the 10th Ave elevated in Manhattan, instead of reactivating it for rail
