Hey Fred, Although this video appears to have been done years ago, it is still very useful with the Genos. Great ideas and a learning experience for me. Thanks for posting. All the best. Ken
Hello Fred, I like this tutorial and here especially using an ending wiht volume 0 and with the next registration activating SYNC START again. Great idee! Kind regards from Germany Hans-Joachim
A very good evening Fred, what an interesting video about this instrument, remarcable. I think one can use ornamentations like glisandos and all the others, but how do you make them pressing what buttons? One really needs to know about it and understand it and someone like you with examples helps nicely. Thank you for shearing this info and making it pleasant to see what you mean. Bless you👏👍, top man!
I’ll use a Multipad for a glissando. I’d set it to syncstart when memorizing it. Now when you switch to that registration, the gliss will automatically start.
@@fhsmith11 Thank you Fred... I was wondering about a secuence of buttons and one is set up for singhing like a nightingale. You know I call this instrument the instrument of the 21 century😀. Bless you.
Hi Fred. The video is great and I am really making the most of using my T2 and a pedal to sequence through reg. sequences for a song (using 8 regs for each song and a sequence list that progresses and even backtracks during the course of the song). However, I have hit an impasse I cannot find an answer to. In reg. 1 of my interpretation of "Conquest of Paradise", I have the keyboard split into 3 parts and all 4 pads in use to create a long, ethereal intro much the same as the movie original, with my fingers fairly busy. Sequencing to reg. 2, I want to start just the drum style with my hands off the keyboard (Timpani and Bass) leaving the right hand just to play the soft humming a few bars later. Then in the next verse (but still on Reg. 2, play a L.H chord and start the "Orchestral Hit" accompaniment in the style.I cannot find a way to do this without using ' Synchro Start' the left hand playing at least one note, even quietly! The registration will only save "Synchro Start" and NOT the running style (without accompaniment) or any keyboard note being played.Sounds complex and I hope you can see what I am trying to do. But, so far, I can only resolve this by playing one L.H note once I sequence to Reg 2.Phil
+tembo101 If the style is playing when you switch registrations, it will continue to play. So is the style playing in reg 1? If so, it should continue to play when you switch to reg 2. If you're not using a style in reg 1, then one option you have is to activate it, but at volume 0. In reg 2, set the volume to, say, 100. Now it will start playing when you switch to reg 2.
+Fred Smith Hi Fred, Thanks for the unbelievably prompt reply!I had already tried this based upon your video ideas. However, my Reg. 1 Intro is an ambient piece, (wind, seashore, chimes, church bells etc.) and goes on for as long as I feel appropriate.Unless I watch the beat/bar VERY closely, switching to Reg. 2 and just turning up the volume does not re-synchronise the style (nor would you expect it to). Hence, more often than not, it starts part way through and misses the big Vangelis drum/phased-bass hit that is supposed to start the second phase and before I start playing the humming. It looks like I am stuck and simply have to press one left hand key to start the style (unless I patch in another footswitch).Ah-ha - maybe that's the way to do it. Just for Reg 2, temporarily assign my Sustain Pedal as a Style Start.I will go and give it a go.,

So it seems you can automate almost everything while still playing live. Awesome!
Wow. I did not know that ! Thank you very much , Love your tutorials !!
Thank you Fred.Excellent video.

+tembo101 It works! Just for that registration, the sustain pedal functions as a style starter. Brill.
