I feel like at first when they were young, they were scared of the pains and dangers that would come with young love, specifically B.I in the mv, so although he was there to comfort LeeHi with sweet temporary things like the rose candy, he wasn’t ready or experienced enough to deeply share her pains and burdens, in this case, his umbrella. The MV starts with Lee Hi arriving at the church (which probably symbolizes heaven) and I think Hanbin is already there because he died earlier. When they were kids, I think Hanbin left her side which explains the "You were the savior that has come to ruin me" in the lyrics so when Lee Hi dies and meets Hanbin again in the afterlife, he vows to be beside her this time. Back when they were kids, Hanbin left with the umbrella leaving young Lee Hi soaked in the rain. He just left her with the lollipop which probably symbolizes that he's sorry he can't be with her when she's sick and when the MV starts we saw afterlife Hanbin approach her with the symbolic lollipop as well probably his way of saying sorry that he died before her or he left her again. Also I noticed that when afterlife Lee Hi looked at afterlife Hanbin across the table, scenes of young Hanbin leaving her soaked in the rain with just a lollipop in her hand were shown possibly because Lee Hi was reminded of the painful things young Hanbin did to her and that's why she's crying because she was hurt back then. I read a theory like this:
B.I is a vampire and Lee Hi is his childhood bestfriend. Because she's sick, so he turned her into vampire like him by rose candy (aka blood) in order to maintain her life. That's why she wears sunglasses and uses umbrella whenever she's under the sun. But she's just a half-blood vampire, she can't live forever like he thought..
One day, she decided to end up her life by sitting under the sun (the sweating scene, like she's melting and gonna disappear). But B.I didn't want that to happen, so he gave her the umbrella and put the sauce on his nose for her to see that he's just like her. And they will get thru the hardships together.
After watching this, the song become 10x beautiful and sad at the same time
