Thank you! With Quidam performing in arenas now instead of big top, I deliberately try to perform "big" in terms of emotions and movements, because our audience is further much away from the stage, and I still want them to experience what my character is feeling during the act! I'm glad you like the results!
My favorite piece, I have watched many times...so mesmerizing, entrancing and powerful. Bravo Tanya, you inspire and touch many with your passion and hard work.
Time and time again I come back to this vid. Every movement, from the thrashing, desperate movements to the subtle curling of your toes has the audience feeling your character's turmoil, and so beautifully set against a haunting musical backdrop. I'll never stop coming back to watch
ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. I have seen many renditions of this, but yours is full of emotion and original wraps that I have not seen before. As a beginner, you inspire me. I dream of the day I can do one tenth of this.
This is such a beautiful performance to watch, but even more beautiful when seen in person. The performance was dramatic, graceful, thrilling, and gripping. I was captivated from start to finish.
Absolutely mesmerizing performance. I really and truly could not take my eyes off of you. Your performance is so captivating for new and learning circus artists like me. It is my dream to one day be even a quarter as good as you. You're an absolute inspiration!!!
Thank you Abraham! Julie Anne Cameron (who I share the role with this year) will be performing in London, but you will love her act too! She has her own unique choreography and style =)
In fact more from Isabelle Vaudelle's choreography, who was the originator of the tissu act in Quidam, and performed it for many years. Isa Chassé's act contained many elements of Vaudelle's choreography as well, and I retained some of those moments in my act as a nod to both of their work. They're amazing performers! I'm glad you like Isa Chassé's work, she was a big inspiration for me as well.
snifferdogx No worries! Not offended whatsoever. I like to give credit where it's due, and both Isabelles were breathtaking performers in this role and truly iconic. It's a hard standard to live up to! I was glad to have a chance to perform my version of this act, and stand indebted to (and always a little in awe of) both ladies.
+Tanya Burka Totally classy!! BTW, were you the contortionist when Quidam came to George Mason in Virginia I think 2 or 3 years ago as a stadium show? If you were, I was there and gave you a standing ovation as I absolutely *LOVE* this act!! This one act was worth twice the admission to see Quidam imo, though Quidam was just a great show.
I totally take back what I said. Totally. This is a spectacularly brilliant interpretation. I just couldn't see it at the time because I was in love with Isabelle's rendition.
I'm 1.77m, almost as tall as you!! For sure taller aerialists need proportionately more upper body and core strength than smaller acrobats, so often they have a slower learning curve initially. But it won't inhibit them long-term if they're learning good technique. Clean mechanics lets you use the muscles you do have efficiently at every size! There's no such thing as "too tall" to do aerial, it just makes you stand out when you're performing =)
Really beautiful! Just a question; How tall are you?? I'm 1.82 m (5.12?) myself and I actually never saw a 'big' aerialist before and I'm always being told I'm too tall to do aerials ;) (Though I kept on doing it and now I'm in a circus education :) )
Yes the big top was incredible for the proximity to the performer! So intimate. And it influences the choreography you choose to have the audience near or far. But I still feel very lucky to have had the chance to perform this arena version!
This take on the aerial act is so thrilling! A lot of the others I've seen in this role were a little more robotic and emotionless, also the tricks they performed weren't as daring.

This is so beautiful. Haunting shapes, lines and silhouettes. You're the gold standard in my opinion x

Amazing! & I've been searching all over the place for the non-English version of "Let Me Fall"!
Your work is just stunning, I hope I can get close to that someday. Big fan of yours!!!
Absolutely mesmerizing performance. I really and truly could not take my eyes off of you.

Beautiful !! Will practice even more to reach at least 10% of your skill !! Congratulations !!
Wow amazing! Im speechless Tanya Im looking forward to see the show and you performance in London the next year in January!! Bravo!!

Yes yes yes lovvvve it you’re fabulous
Very we'll done but the original that was put on VHS tops this
Jamieson Lindenburg. I got to perform with Josue Anuar for part of 2013 however, he was fantastic and we're all hoping he's doing well with Dralion!
Edit:
fabulous!

Tanya Burka Oooo! Didn't know that! Sorry for the aherm criticism. Just my personal tastes, that's all.

My favorite act in Quidam! It was you in Vienna last month?

who is the singer?
whats the name of this song?
The song is known as "Let Me Fall", it's part of Quidam's original soundtrack!
Tanya Burka ok ty for the info ^^
Personally I prefer the big top! You are right up close.... it’s still the smell of sawdust in the air

No Josué, eres muy talentoso pero esta sí la arruinaste. No confundas tener fuerza con hacer fuerza... no robes protagonismo con tu voz
