Prophet Idris was born a long time after the death of Adam and during the life of Seth. Idris grew up in a society where people were slowly drifting away from worshipping God. Despite these challenges, he stood out from a young age due to his intelligence, wisdom, and commitment to worship.
وُلِدَ النبي إدريس بعد فترة طويلة من وفاة آدم وخلال حياة شيث. نشأ إدريس في مجتمع بدأ الناس فيه يبتعدون عن عبادة الله. على الرغم من هذه التحديات، تميز منذ صغره بذكائه وحكمته واهتمامه بالعبادة.
God chose Idris and revealed to him the prophethood to guide his people towards the worship of one God. Idris began his mission courageously, highlighting that God is the only deity and warning them against being consumed by worldly life and negligence of the hereafter.
اختار الله إدريس وكشف له النبوة ليوجه قومه نحو عبادة إله واحد. بدأ إدريس مهمته بشجاعة، مشددًا على أن الله هو الإله الوحيد محذرًا إياهم من الانغماس في الحياة الدنيا وإهمال الآخرة.
Idris was the first to teach people writing with a pen, and he is credited with learning astronomy and mathematics. He taught his people how to organise their lives, including farming, building, and crafting, guiding them to see knowledge and work as blessings from God.
كان إدريس أول من علم الناس الكتابة بالقلم، ويُنسب إليه تعلم الفلك والرياضيات. علم قومه كيفية تنظيم حياتهم، بما في ذلك الزراعة والبناء والحرف، موجهًا إياهم لرؤية المعرفة والعمل كنعمة من الله.
Idris was a practical example of devotion and work. He called his people to perfect their tasks and avoid laziness, teaching them that every action intended for God's pleasure carries a great reward, emphasizing obedience and beneficial work.

In Idris’s society, there were those who oppressed and exercised tyranny. Idris stood bravely against these oppressors, calling them to repentance and reform, warning them of God's punishment if they persisted in defiance.

Idris was a pious man, and commentators mention the story of his ascension to heaven. Idris asked an angel to raise his supplication to God to increase his reward and extend his life for more good deeds, leading to his ascension to the fourth heaven.

God mentions in the Quran: "And We raised him to a high station." This elevation can be interpreted as Idris being raised to the fourth heaven where he died, and God elevating his spiritual status among prophets, making his remembrance everlasting.
