Title tracks and their MV's get the glory, but BTS' b-sides are the epitome of excellence. For many of us, the b-sides end up being our favorite songs.

I love that you really appreciated the choreography. "Butterfly," was choreographed by Brian Puspos, who was (is?) Jimin's favourite choreographer & the same person who did the choreo for Jimin's, "Serendipity," and Jungkook's, "My Time." His style is near-perfect for Jimin; lyrical & expressive + the R&B sensibility that's DEEPLY influenced by Michael Jackson.
I'd been paying occasional attention to BTS since about 2014, but "Butterfly," was the song that made me really sit up & take notice.

Brian said Jimin made the choreo better. If you look at Brian dancing, he has the moves but not Jimin's grace and floaty feeling. That is totally Jimin and not from Brian.
BTS has the most amazing vocals and V is my most favorite! Only BTS could perform their music and express the message perfectly! BTS are the greatest performers alive! BTS is the best! There’s nothing like BTS!
There is another performance at an award show where Jimin has a solo to Butterfly. A must watch.

I believe this performance was choreographed by Brian Puspos who also did the choreo for Jimin when he performs seredicity. Both are absolutely beautiful.

I do believe this song is about losing someone through suicide and it hits the feels every single time I hear it. It's such an absolutely beautiful song. I also really liked how you described the members vocal styles (especially Suga) and paid close attention to the dance as well.
I truly agree with your description of Sugas rap style, if you listen to First Love you can really hear the crying in his voice. I also think he includes a lot of ...I dont know what the name is but I'm going to call it breath play, he has a way of putting in breath sounds on purpose to add that crying element or breathlessness from feelings. You can always tell that his lyrics are straight from him and he puts so much emotion in
That is an interesting personal interpretation of the song, but the official meaning behind the song is about youth and growing up. It's not about a person, but more about memories and a feeling.
This is one of my top fav songs from BTS along with "Tomorrow", "House of Cards", and "So Far Away - Jin, Suga, JK version"
Jin mostly sings high on most songs, so does JK. That rich baritone, of course in Dionysus prechorus... [Drink it up (the pain of creation). ] with J-hope is low but rich.
Jin went low 2nd octave and high F#5 in Dionysus
I totally agree with how you describe their voices. They compliment each other so well and none of them are the same, so they don't over step or over power each other. When one comes up the other backs off and they know how to do this so well, and when there are 2 belting it out they are so good not to over power one another. It is something that is not very common in groups (this is just from what I have heard myself). Their dynamic is something else and it is why their music sounds so good. 💜

I have noticed their dances for Japan have a very different feel, more lyrical, beautiful and more unified, soft footwork. Simply beautiful. Another example is "For You".
"For You", is that the one where they literally look like they're ballroom dancing around the stage? If it is, oh, it's such wonderful choreo.

BTS 7 Beautiful Singers/Dancers
This is a personal fav that most reactors seem to overlook. There is one other MDC performance of this where the camera angles shows the choreo a bit better, plus they don’t use handheld mics so they can really showcase the hand movements. It’s really amazing if u get a chance to watch it as well
Butterfly was the first song I ever heard from BTS. One of my friends at the time was really into kpop (mostly SHINee lol), it was the beginning of 2016 and she had started to follow BTS more and wanted me to check this song out. I remember just listening to it through headphones with my eyes closed and I fell into a trance, and the moment when Jimin and Jk harmonize and hit that highnote I burst into tears. I fell in love HARD! I've been an Army ever since 💜 This song will always hold a special place in my heart.

This is one of my favorites and like so many BTS songs it is beautiful and emotionally heart breaking at the same time. It's in essence about caring about someone who is self destructive/broken/suicidal and being helpless to protect/help/fix them. Thank you for appreciating BTS as true artists.
Fun fact: This dance choreo was done by Brian Puspos, a choreographer and dancer that all of them, but especially Jimin has really admired. Brian revealed recently that he only knew who he was choreographing for a year after he did. He was approached by their label, given the music, but was not told who they were. He stumbled upon a video of them dancing to it a year later, and only discovered it then :D

I love this performance, it's like their dance isn't just dance, they use it to express the emotion of the song and to tell the story through their movement. It's beautiful. Only BTS. I haven't seen another K Pop group do what they do.💜

Butterfly is so pretty and so interesting to consider they have other songs as well that refer to wings and their lyrics refer to Army lifting them up and helping them spread thier wings... i like how a lot if not most of thier songs always turn back around to army and how much they appreciate thier fanbase... and knowing they wouldn't be where they are today without them...
They have almost 300+ songs. When I first found them I listened most of their b sides. I used yt fan compilation of BTS soft and chill songs. You will be surprised how awesome their discography. Learn to stream now. Love your reactions

Thanks for reacting to the first song I truly fell in love with from BTS (don't get mre wrong, love all their songs). The lyrics of Butterfly always hit me hard. Love the choreography so much. While this song ties into the storyline, many people also take it as a stand-alone song for someone who is facing issues of self-harm and sui**de. Especially because the butterfly is associated heavily with projects for self-harm. Of course, this analysis would also work for the storyline in the future videos you are yet to explore.

They are sweating because they’ve been performing songs at this concert that have lots of choreography and not because it’s hot. The fact that they are able to perform these songs in a row is incredible. Their concert last month they started with the song ON and then did Fire which both have hard choreography and then continued to sing and dance for 2 plus hours straight. Incredible
I'm happy that you noticed the beautiful and meaningful choreography. Remember what Suga said about Kpop (even if we know that BTS is larger than that) : it's a integrate content, not only music, lyrics, visual, but also choregraphy. And BTS really use the dance move to express or emphatized the meaning of the lyrics. It's particularly clear in Butterfly, Baepsae, I need U, Save Me/I'm fine, Black Swan , Fake Love, PTD , and a lot of solo (Serendipity, Lie, Singularity etc). Butterfly and Serendipity (and My Time) have the same choregraph, Brian Puspos. Jimin like his choreo, and he had done a beautiful (and sensual) cover of Own It in BTS Begin in 2015, and also with Jungkook (the dance practice is on YT) , et Brian Puspos always praised Jimin's dancing ability, and the way he always incorporates the right emotion, the desired energy, perfect technique , making it look easy.
And for the rap line, I agree. Very différent voices , and flow, their characters come throught their way of raping. JHope always make me emotional.
You're not overthinking the choreo. A LOT of their choreo is representative of the lyrics/concept of the song... another example is Baepsae choreo.
