He does have beautiful hair. Enviable! While you gave him a fine haircut, I actually thought he looked better with the extra length he had prior to the cut. Also, he definitely is more attractive without a part in his hair--the symmetry of the slicked back look highlights his nice facial features. My suggestion to him is to abort the parted hair and keep it slicked back. Also, I'd let the sides and back grow a bit longer.
