- Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways
In this video we have a day on The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for my last red pen bash of 2024.
The visit coincided with the start of the winter residency of West Coast Railways's black 5 44932 the sole surviving member of the class that was built at Horiwch works in Lancashire in 1945 as part of the agreement between KWVR & Ian Riley's while the railway's own black 5 45212 is out working on the mainline on special trains.
We start at Keighley station as we see 44932 running round her train in readiness for the 1st southbound steam working of the day.
This was my very 1st ride behind 44932 so on this day was a red pen moment.
I opted to get the on board bashing over & done with as quickly as possible at the 1st opportunity while in day light as normally i would do the last southbound run of the day to Oxenhope however as we are by the time of this video was made are in the late Autumn as it was dark by the time the last train of day from Keighley departed for Oxenhope.
After the successful red pen bash I got at least 3 lineside locations ticked off right up to the final day light hour to round off a great day.
I'm planning on making a return to the railway next month which by then the railway's Santa season is in full swing so stay tuned.
Thanks for reading enjoy the film.

Good video Richard :)
Music to my ears. You slightly mis-spelt Horwich in the description, we all make spelling mistakes. I do it all the time. I hope you're not beginning to copy Mr. Phil Clarke, lol.
Eye hop knot two! Lol
